This paper describes the sinusoidal, pulse, triangular oscillator using second generation current conveyor. To obtain the sinusoidal waveform the circuit blocks are constructed by using all pass filter and integrator. The pulse and the triangular waveforms are obtained from the output of sinusoidal oscillator. The peak-to-peak voltages of sinusoidal and triangular waveforms can be easily controlled by the dc offset voltage. Also the output frequency of the oscillator can be controlled by varying passive elements. The designed circuit is verified by HSPICE simulation.
An adaptive state observer is presented for a class of LTI systems that have a sinusoidal disturbance in the measurement output. Adaptation rules are developed for identifying the unknown sinusoidal disturbance signal from the system output. For the application of the identification result to the state estimation problem, the sinusoidal signal with arbitrary initial phase has been considered in this paper. In order to test the performance of proposed algorithm, comparative computer simulations have been carried out with an existing robust observer. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
This paper describes a new dc-ac inverter system which for achieving sinusoidal ac waveform makes use of parallel loaded high frequency resonant inverter consisting of full bridge. Each one of the pair of switches in the inverter is driven to synchronous output frequency and the other is driven to PWM signal with resonant frequency proportional to magnitude of sine wave. A forced discontinuous conduction mode is used to realize the quasi-sinusoidal pulse in each switching period. Therefore the inverter generates sinusoidal modulated output voltage including carrier frequency that is resonant frequency. Carrier frequency components of modulated output voltage is filtered by low pass filter. Since current through switches is always zero at its turn-on in the proposed inverter, low stress and low switching loss is achieved. Operating characteristics of the proposed system is analyzed in per unit system using computer simulation. The output voltage of if includes low harmonics and it is almost close to sine wave. Also, the theoretical analysis is proved through the experimental test.
A damped sinusoidal electromagnetic pulse generator was designed, fabricated and tested. The pulse generator consisted of an oscillator(a spark gap switch and an initially charged low impedance line) and a high impedance antenna. This generator was capable of producing damped sinusoidal pulses at closure of the spark gap switch. A Marx generator was employed to supply the Pulse generator with high voltage pulses. While the pulse generator was provided with the high voltage pulses of 200kV from the Marx generator, its output power was maximized by controlling the pressure of the gas contained in the spark gap switch. The output power of the damped sinusoidal electromagnetic pulse oscillator was 1.3GW and the amplitude of electric field radiated from the pulse generator was 4kV/m at the range of 25m.
A method to increase the output voltage of the PWM inverter within linear range is considered. A new modulation wave is used, which is made by injecting the third harmonic wave into the sinusoidal wave. The optimum region for improving the output voltage keeping the linear control characteristic is obtained by digital simulation. Furthermore, the distortion factor in the optimum region is less than that calculated when the maximum output voltage can be obtained in the sinusoidal PWM inverter.
In practical control systems differences between nominal and real systems arise from internal uncertainties and/or external disturbances. This paper presents a model-based low-order disturbance observer for a sinusoidal disturbance with unknown constant offset. By using the disturbance model of a biased harmonic signal, the proposed method can successfully estimate the biased sinusoidal disturbance with unknown amplitude and phase but known frequency. At the first stage of the observer design, a model-based disturbance observer is designed when all the system states are measurable. Next, a sufficient condition is presented for the proposed observer to estimate the sinusoidal disturbance with a minimal-order additional dynamics using only output measurement. Comparative computer simulations are performed to test the performance of the proposed method. The simulation results show the enhanced performance of the proposed disturbance observer.
This paper presents a control strategy to achieve the balanced sinusoidal output currents, as well as sinusoidal input currents for the matrix converter (MC) under unbalanced input voltages. By regulating the modulation index of the converter according to the instantaneous input voltages, the output currents are kept balanced and sinusoidal. In order to obtain sinusoidal input currents, the input power factor angle should be dynamically calculated based on the positive and negative sequence components of the input voltages. This paper proposes a simple method to construct the expected input power factor angle without the complicated sequence component extraction of input voltages. Simulation results are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
This paper presents an output feedback controller design method for uncertain linear systems with sinusoidal disturbance of uncertain frequencies. The controller needs to compensate for the performance deterioration due to the uncertain frequencies of sinusoidal disturbance. To this end, we introduce a virtual system including the dynamics corresponding to the uncertain frequencies and design a controller which minimizes the output difference between the virtual system and the closed-loop system. In other words, the controller is designed so that the closed-loop system approximates the virtual system. The feedback controller is achieved by solving an LMI optimization problem involving a robust $H_{\infty}$ constraint. The advantages of the proposed design method are examined by comparing it with a design method that only minimizes the $H_{\infty}$ norm of the transfer function between the sinusoidal disturbance and the output. The proposed design method is applied to the track-following system of rewritable optical disk drives and is evaluated through an experiment.
This paper presents a n analysis of the output voltage waveforms of the double sinusoidal modulated PWM inverter, and are studied on the driving characteristics through the 3 phase induction motor using 6502 microcomputer. The double sinusoidal modulated waves are produced during the interval 4$\pi$/3 [rad] for one cycle, and the switching loss can be reduced. The amplitude of fundamental wave of double sinusoidal modulated PWM inverter is 1.15 times higher than that of the sinusoidal PWM inverter, but the practical measured value by FFT analyzer is 1.13 times.
This paper presents a programmable single-phase ac power source that provides a sinusoidal output voltage with an adjustable output amplitude and frequency over a wide range as well as an arbitrary waveform. The ac power source under consideration have a linear power amplifier. The desired output values can be programmed with a personal computer. The power source operates at 220[V]/60[Hz] mains and the output voltage is isolated from the input circuit. The system consists mainly of a power converter to generate and amplify the waveform signal, a controller to control the desired output signal and measure the output parameters, and a control program to set the desired output and display the values. The prototype ac power source was constructed and tested with the results demonstrating a good performance.
