  • It is suggested the circuit network to analyze the time response of control system. And it is analyzed the interrelation for classical control and modern control by the transfer function and the state equation. Without complicated integration of state transition equation, it is suggested to possible time response by combining the state transition matrix and the transfer function. A source program is coded to display the time response according to the unit-step and the sinusoidal input. Transient response is analyzed in the unit-step input and phase difference between current and voltage is analyzed in sinusoidal input. As writing the suggested contents in transient response or state-space analysis, it is improved the understanding for control engineering and ability for system design.

  • Wireless sensors are more favorable in measuring structural response compared to conventional sensors in terms of them being easier to use with no issues with cables and them being considerably cheaper. Previous tests have been conducted to analyze the performance of MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) sensor in sinusoidal excitation tests. This paper analyzes the performance of in-built MEMS sensors in devices by comparing with an ICP sensor as the reference. Earthquake input amplitude excitation in shaking table tests was done. Results show that MEMS sensors are more accurate in measuring higher input amplitude measurements which range from 100gal to 250gal than at lower input amplitudes which range from 10gal to 50gal. This confirms the results obtained in previous sinusoidal tests. It was also seen that natural frequency results have lower error values which range from 0% to 3.92% in comparison to the response spectra results. This also confirms that in-built MEMS sensors in mobile devices are good at estimating natural frequency of structures. In addition, it was also seen that earthquake input amplitudes with more frequency contents (Gyeongju) had considerably higher error values than Pohang excitation tests which has less frequency contents.

  • In this paper, a wide input range active multi-pulse rectifier for utility interface of power electronic converters is proposed. The scheme combines multi-pulse method using a V-A transformer and boost rectifier modules. A current control scheme for the rectifier modules is proposed to achieve sinusoidal line currents in the utility input over a wide input range of input voltage and output load conditions. A design example is included for a 208V to 460V input, $700V_{dc}$ do 10kW output rectifier system. Simulation results are shown.

  • A new capacitor-input type voltage source rectifier is proposed in this paper. The proposed rectifier is based upon 6-pulse diode rectifier with the addition of an auxiliary circuit. By proper operation of the switches of the auxiliary circuit, the input voltage waveform has 18-pulse characteristics and the input current becomes almost sinusoidal due to input ac reactors. The operating principle along with current analysis and input voltage waveform synthesis is described. The experimental results from a laboratory prototype verify the proposed concept.

  • This paper presents an effective control scheme for an electric vehicle battery charger where a symmetrical bridgeless power factor-corrected converter and a buck converter are cascaded. Both converters have been popular in industries because of their high efficiency, low cost, and compact size, hence combining these converters makes the overall battery charging system strongly efficient. Moreover, this charger topology can operate at universal input voltage and attain a desired battery current and voltage without ripple. In order to achieve a unity input power factor and zero input current harmonic distortion, the proposed control scheme adopts duty ratio feed-forward control technique in both current and voltage control loop. Additionally, in the current loop, its reference is created by a phase-locked loop (PLL) block, leading to a pure sinusoidal input current although the input voltage waveform is being distorted. The feasibility and practical value of the proposed approach are verified by simulation and experiment with an 110V/60Hz ac line input and 1.5kW-72V dc output of the battery charging system.

  • In this paper the comparison between the neural networks and traditional approaches as nonlinear system identification methods are considered. Two model structures of neural networks are the state space model and the input output model neural networks. The traditional methods are the AutoRegressive eXogeneous Input model and the Nonlinear AutoRegressive eXogeneous Input model. Computer simulation for an analytic dynamic model of a single input single output nonlinear system has been done for all the chosen models. Model validation for the obtained models also has been done with testing inputs of the sinusoidal, ramp and the noise ramp.

  • This paper presents a cyclocoverter with a LC resonant circuit for a induction motor dr-ive. The cycloconverter can provide variab-le voltage and frequency three phase output while keeping the input displacement factor at 1.0. The input current wave forms are sinusoidal, and the wide output frequency ran-ge is appropriate for variable speed AC motor drives.

  • In the paper, in order to get the characteristics of the saccadic and the smooth pursuit movements of the oculomotor systems, a revised stochastic sampled data model suggested by Young et. al. was simulated and analyzed by using the MIMIC language. The results are summerized as follows; (1) The predictability to the sinusoidal inputs increased as the input frequency increased, but at the frequency of 1.0[Hz] the prediction started to decrease. (2) The responses of the system drifted when the system was open-looped. (3) The responses showed the transient state during the first period of the input waves, and then moved into the steady state.

  • This paper proposes a improvement of switching converter's input wave form using VIENNA Rectifier(three-phase three-switch three-level PWM Rectifier). VIENNA Rectifier is based on the combination of a three-phase diode bridge and dc/dc boost converter. It can be available to get sinusoidal mains current, and low-blocking voltage stress on rower transistors. In addition, it can control output voltage.

  • Recently, PWM cycloconverters that are frequency conversion system have been studied for eliminating do links of conventional converter and inverter systems. A new real-time method for generating PWM patterns is proposed in this paper. This method realizes sinusoidal input and output currents, controllable input displacement factor regardless of load power factor, and maximum output voltage range. Finally, feasibility of the proposed method is confirmed by simulation and experiments.
