The dynamic instability for snapping phenomena has been studied by many researches. There is few paper which deal with the dynamic buckling under the load with periodic characteristics, and the behavior under periodic excitation is expected the different behavior against STEP excitation. We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of the dynamic instability when the sinusoidal shaped arch structures subjected to sinusoidal distributed excitation with pin-ends. In this study, the dynamic direct snapping of shallow arches is investigated under not only STEP load excitation but also sinusoidal harmonic excitations, applied in the up-and-down direction. The dynamic nonlinear responses are obtained by the numerical integration of the geometrically nonlinear equations of motion, and examined by the Fourier spectral analysis in order to get the frequency-dependent characteristics of the dynamic instability for various load levels.

We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of the dynamic instability when the sinusoidal shaped arch structures subjected to sinusoidal harmonic excitation with pin-ends. In nonlinear dynamics, examining the characteristics of attractor on the phase plane and investigating the dynamic buckling process are very important thing for understanding why unstable phenomena are sensitively originated by various initial conditions. In this study, the direct and the indirect snap-buckling of shallow arches considering geometrical nonlinearity are investigated numerically and compared with the step excitation critical load.
A cylindrical permanent magnet inside the four-phase permanent magnet (PM) stepping motor is employed as the rotor. The stator has four teeth around, which its coils are wound. The mode of excitation can be classified into 3 modes: single-phase excitation, two-phase excitation and ministep excitation. The ministep drive is a method to subdivide one step into several small steps by means of electronics. The paper presents the programmable ministep technique drive. This technique decodes the results obtained from the counter to locate the data in Read Only Memory (ROM). The Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) is transformed to binary file and saved to the ROM. The experiment is performed with the four-phase PM stepping motor and drives from a two-phase programmable sinusoidal ministep signal, instead of square wave. The results show that the performances of the proposed programmable ministep technique drive have high efficiency, smooth step motion, and high speed response. Moreover, the resolution of sinusoidal ministep signal can be controlled by the input frequency (f command).

To obtain an elliptical trajectory at the cutting edge during elliptical vibration cutting, sinusoidal voltage excitations of two piezoelectric actuators have commonly been used. In this study, PWM excitation, which is relatively simple to generate, was employed and its characteristics were investigated. In experimental and analytical analyses, we found that for PWM excitation, the integer-multiple frequencies of the excitation voltage distorted the shape of the elliptical trajectory, whereas at a duty ratio(DR) of 50%, the distortion of the elliptical trajectory was minimized due to disappearance of the first overtone. When the magnitude of the maximum excitation voltage was maintained at the same level for both PWM and sinusoidal excitation, PWM (DR=50%) excitation produced a greater vibration amplitude than sinusoidal excitation but resulted in more rapid saturation of a high-frequency power amplifier.

Few paper deal with the dynamic buckling under the load with periodic characteristics, and the behavior under periodic excitation is expected the different behavior against STEP excitation. We investigate the fundamental mechanisms of the dynamic instability when the sinusoidal shaped arch structures are subjected to sinusoidal harmonic excitation with pin-ends. By using Newmark- β method, we can get the nonlinear displacement response, and using this analyze characteristics of the dynamic instability through the running response spectrum by FFT(Fast Fourier Transform).

This paper presents a summary of the input data, requirements and notch prediction analysis for sinusoidal excitation test of a satellite. In the notch prediction analysis, the loads at excitation points and internal loads at the important locations on satellite structure were obtained. After checking of limit loads and margin of safety for each location, the notched sinusoidal test inputs were generated using the results of the notch prediction analysis.

Active control schemes which modify the excitation to correct for any of the nonideal characteristics of the SPMSM is described. Especially, because of design limitations(size and cost) in automobile, the back-EMF of SPMSM can't be perfectly designed with sinusoidal wave and iron core of stator is saturated so that torque ripple is unavoidable. An active cancellation method of the pulsating torque components which would otherwise be generated using the classic sinusoidal current excitation is illustrated.
This research concentrates on the influence of non-linearities associated with impact for the nonlinear rocking behavior of rigid block subjected to one dimensional sinusoidal excitation of horizontal direction. The transition of two governing rocking equations, the abrupt reduction in the kinetic energy associated with impact, and sliding motion of block. In this study, two type of rocking vibration system are considered. One is the undamped rocking vibration system, disregarding energy dissipation at impact and the other is the damped rocking system, including energy dissipation and sliding motion. The response analysis using non-dimensional rocking equation is carried out for the change of excitation parameters and friction coefficient. The chaos responses were discovered in the wide response region, particularly, for the case of high excitation amplitude and their chaos characteristics were examined by the time history, Poincare map, power spectra and Lyapunov Exponent of rocking responses. The complex behavior of chaos response, in the phase space, were illustrated by Poincare map. The bifurcation diagram and Poincare map were shown to be effective in order to understand chaos of rocking system.

In this study, we choose the sinusoidal shaped arch with pin-ends subjected to sinusoidal distributed excitation to investigate the fundamental mechanism of the dynamic instability. We derive the nonlinear equations of motion to investigate the instability phenomenon of arch structures and Identify the buckling characteristics of sinusoidal shaped arch structures through the nonlinear eigenvalue analysis with discreted equations of motion by Galerkin's method. We examine that phenomenons which direct snapping and indirect snapping with backbone curves to understand occurrence paths of the dynamic buckling.

This research deals with the nonlinearities of rocking vibration associated with impact and sliding on the rocking behavior of rigid block under two dimensional sinusoidal excitation which has different frequencies in two excitation direction. The varied excitation direction influences not only the rocking response but also the sliding motion and the rocking response shape. Chaotic responses are observed in wider excitation amplitude region, when the frequencies in each excitation direction are different. The complex behavior of chaotic response, in the phase space, is related with the trajectory of base excitation and sliding motion.
