In the literature on the tense consonants in Korean, it has been proposed that this consonant is underlyingly represented by a single consonant (the singleton hypothesis) and that it is represented by a sequence of two lenis consonants (the geminate hypothesis). One piece of the empirical evidence supporting the geminate hypothesis is that the closure duration of tense consonants in intervocalic position is more than twice as long in comparison with their lenis counterparts. In this paper, we report on the closure duration of three types of plosives in various phonotactically permitted contexts in Korean. The results of the measurement show that the duration of the tense consonants in post-sonorant contexts is reduced by a third in comparison with that of the intervocalic ones. These temporal differences suggest that the measurement of closure durations in intervocalic position alone is not sufficient to sustain the geminate hypothesis.

In this paper, we propose a neural network processor architecture with on-chip learning and with reconfigurability according to the data dependencies of the algorithm applied. For the neural network model applied, the proposed architecture can be configured into either SIMD or SRA(Systolic Ring Array) without my changing of on-chip configuration so as to obtain a high throughput. However, changing of system configuration can be controlled by user program. To process activation function, which needs amount of cycles to get its value, we design it by using PWL(Piece-Wise Linear) function approximation method. This unit has only single latency and the processing ability of non-linear function such as sigmoid gaussian function etc. And we verified the processing mechanism with EBP(Error Back-Propagation) model.

This is a report of successful management of a patient with complicated native valvular endocarditis. Initially stable patient showed sudden collapse at the end of 4th week of antibiotics coverage. Echocardiography revealed that previous vegetation at the Aorto-mitral Fibrous Skeleton[AMFS developed into a false aneurysm, perforated to left atrium and caused fistulous communication between left ventricle and left atrium. Extensive debridement was performed including part of the ascending aorta, aortic cusps, the AMFS, anterior mitral cusp and roof of the left atrium. Reconstruction of the AMFS with tailored single piece of autologous pericardium enabled the implantation of mechanical valves at the aortic and the mitral position. Ascending aorta and roof of the left atrium were repaired with autologous pulmonary artery patch graft and another autologous pericardial patch. The patient was discharged on postoperative 16th day and followed - up till now without any residuae or sequelae.

고주파 유도가열은 무공해 에너지 절약을 기본으로 하는 전기가열의 한 방법으로 환경 친화와 에너지 절감에 많은 기대를 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 절연체 용기내에 특수 발열체 부하를 수납하여 외부의 코일과 비접촉상태로 전자유도에 의해 와전류를 발열체에 흘림으로서 발열하게 되는 새로운 방식을 제안하였다. 설계한 인버터는 스위칭 주파수 20[kHz] 대역에서 작동되는 고주파 직렬 부하 공진형이며 LC 공진 설계에서 L을 부하로 설정하여 효율을 최대화 하였다.

Conventional disinfectants and disinfection method are expensive, hazardous and often require long periods of exposure. Recently, there is growing interest in complex disinfection process as a disinfection technique in medical instruments such as endoscope, hand piece bur to improve the disinfection efficiency and conveniency. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of a new complex process for the purpose of disinfection of Escherichia coli in water. Three single process (electrolysis, UV and ultrasonic process) was combined dual and triple disinfection process. The order of disinfection performance for E. coli in dual process lie in: Electrolysis + UV > Electrolysis + Ultrasonic > UV + Ultrasonic process. Disinfection efficiency of E. coli and degradation of N, N-Dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline (RNO, indicating material of OH radical formation) of dual process was higher than that of the triple process (Electrolysis + UV + Ultrasonic process). In electrolysis + UV process, disinfection tendency was well agreed with RNO degradation tendency.

It is important to retrieve information that a user requires on the web. The web is an open system. The amount of information is increasing rapidly. While each of information was compiled into the database piece at a single platform in the past, it is now compiled into complicated structure at a multi-platform. Restructuring the multi-platform database is needed to efficiently retrieve information. MIRAS(Meta Information Retrieval Agent System) has a multi-platform database on web. This study applies the classification of the existent site's categories to restructure the database systematically. The empirical analysis shows that the suggested method is effective for information retrieval and multi-platform database restructuring. This study helps users to save on time-cost of searching information.

Recently, the flat wiper which is one piece wiper and subjected to a pressing force at a single center point is gaining wide applications on automotive windshields. However, nonuniform reactive pressure distributions takes place, so that wiping is not completed at such locations. The wiping performance of the flat wiper is best when a wiper and a curved windshield have perfect contact without gaps under the specified pressing force of 13 ~ 15 gf/cm. Therefore, it is necessary that the realistic curvature equation of a wiper spring-rail should be obtained. Finite element analysis, CATIA script-macro function, and the least square method were utilized to find out the curvature of a spring-rail for a perfect contact with a windshield under a specified concentrated load. The curvature equation became the third order polynomial.

The bushing currently applied to pole-mounted type loadbreak switch has porcelain bushing which is connected with the mold cone. This type has potential problems of uncertainty of sealing of the interface part and gas leakage on the connected part between bushing and switch tank due to the weight of the porcelain. The Composite Bushing can solve these problems and also the secondary problem of the potential accident owing to the fragment of the porcelain bushing in breakage due to the outer impact.

A combined cartilage holder and crusher is described that allows the surgeon to hold, crush, morselize, and suture a single piece or stack of cartilage graft without letting it slip. The customized slit-shaped jaws allow adequate room for the suture needle, while the serrated surfaces hold the cartilage firmly. The use of this instrument is advocated primarily in rhinoplasty for manipulating and suturing a small cartilage graft or a stack of grafts. The use of this instrument may be extended to aesthetic or reconstructive cases where cartilage grafts need to be sutured or shaped, as in eyelid, ear, and nipple reconstruction.

This paper depicts the diagram of cylindrical shells as an essential idea. It centers around an outline of exploration and use of cylindrical shell in expansive current circumstance. In view of investigation of the current and prospect of model as a piece of present exploration work, a straightforward contextual analysis is examined with Love's shell theory based on Galerkin's method. The cylindrical shells are attached from one end of the cylindrical shells. The frequencies of ring support shells are investigated against the half axial wave mode. The frequencies increase on increasing the half axial wave mode. Also, the frequencies are downsized with ring supports. The software MATLAB is preferred to others because in this software computing coding is very easy to do. Just single command 'eig' furnishes shell frequencies and mode shapes by calculating eigenvalues and eigenvectors respectively. The shell vibration frequencies for cylindrical shells are compared with those results found in the open literature.
