  • This study investigates the effectiveness of fashion coordination presentation formats when people buy apparel products online. This study conducted an online survey with 595 females who shopped online at the simulated website by a single apparel plan picture (n=189), coordination plane picture (n=187), and 3-D coordination image (n=216). For data analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, MANCOVA, ANOVA, Duncan test, correlation analysis, and chi-square are used. The results of this study are: First, the hedonic shopping value was significantly the highest when respondents shopped at a 3-D coordination image shopping mall, the next highest-scored presentation type was the coordination plane picture, and the case of presenting only the single apparel picture was significantly the lowest. The utilitarian shopping value and information shopping value were higher in the coordination plane picture and the 3-D coordination image shopping mall than the single apparel picture. Second, transactions satisfaction was high when respondents shopped at a 3-D coordination image, coordination plane image, and single apparel image in decreasing order.

  • In this a paper, a new method to measure the wear of the single crystal diamond(SCD) tool using image processing is presented. To increase resoultion, high magnifying lens is used and to enlarge the measurement field of view, a image region matching method is applied. The shape of SCD tool is modeled by mathematical analysis. Cutting edge chipping and wear are calculated by the model. This method is proved to be efficient in detecting a few micron of wear and cutting edge loss by chipping along the whole cutting edge.

  • To product the map by terrestrial photogrammetry method, a few rather nuisance stereo image acquiring processing and plot using expensive analytical instruments have to be performed. In this study, plot was made by acquiring and rectification image using simple method rather than above it. For this, geometry rectification system was constructed for the generation of single ortho-image analysis. and these ortho-images of architecture were made and analysed by appling various warping methods. As a result, the performance of single image analysis could be estimated, and it is expected that the application of this is possible to various non-topographic photogrammetry.

  • Haze is an extreme reason of the reduction of contrast when capturing image in the outdoor. Recently, there are several single image dehazing techniques, but they are not robust in dynamic variations of natural environment caused by the thickness, coverage of haze and appearance of sunlight. In this paper, we propose an effective and robust method to enhance luminance for image dehazing depending on histogram analysis. Compare with conventional methods, our proposal have better performance in term of contrast, and computation time.

  • In a different way of satellite image or aerial photo, the image acquired by terrestrial photogrammetry has to go through complicated management according to the desired precision and analysis range. In this study, digital surface model and ortho image for cultural asset, terrestrial structures, were made by reflectorless total station in order to increase the application of single photo, and that was analyzed and compared with the method using stereo image. Single photo is expected to be utilized as the measuring method for drawing cultural assets or examining the stability of slope in which high precision doesn't need by performing the various geometric and visual analysis using ortho image made by excluding the difficulties of acquisition and plotting of stereo image.

  • Using chemical vapor deposition(CVD), the synthesis of graphene was performed on poly and single crystalline Cu substrates. The growth behavior of graphene and its characterization were shown utilizing the optical microscopic image and its image analysis. As a result in the analysis of graphene growth, it was found out the graphene is growing always in particular direction in relation to the crystalline direction of a single grain in polycrystalline Cu substrate. With the image analysis it was possible to show the characterization of graphene, such as the growth direction and the number of layers showing single, double and triple layers, within the neighboring single grains in polycrystalline Cu. In addition, the relatively large area of graphene with about $3mm^2$ on Cu(111) having high quality, single layer, and single crystalline was shown along with its characterization.

  • In this paper, we present a method to automatically quantify the three-dimensional (3D) volume of red blood cells (RBCs) using off-axis digital holographic microscopy. The RBCs digital holograms are recorded via a CCD camera using an off-axis interferometry setup. The RBCs' phase image is reconstructed from the recorded off-axis digital hologram by a computational reconstruction algorithm. The watershed segmentation algorithm is applied to the reconstructed phase image to remove background parts and obtain clear targets in the phase image with many single RBCs. After segmenting the reconstructed RBCs' phase image, all single RBCs are extracted, and the 3D volume of each single RBC is then measured with the surface area and the phase values of the corresponding RBC. In order to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method to automatically calculate the 3D volume of RBC, two typical shapes of RBCs, i.e., stomatocyte/discocyte, are tested via experiments. Statistical distributions of 3D volume for each class of RBC are generated by using our algorithm. Statistical hypothesis testing is conducted to investigate the difference between the statistical distributions for the two typical shapes of RBCs. Our experimental results illustrate that our study opens the possibility of automated quantitative analysis of 3D volume in various types of RBCs.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how one's visual evaluations are affected by variations in internal designs of tailored jackets. Major findings are: 1. Of the 35 pairs of adjectives, the factor analysis singled out the following five major factors (total variance of 55.62%): elegance, maturity, neatness, hard/softness, and evaluation. 2. The image of tailored jackets were found to be significantly affected by the length of its collar: jackets with long collar were perceived elegant, graceful, neat, mature and slim. 3. The number of buttons was also found to have significant impact on the image of tailored jackets: A one-button jacket, single or double, was perceived graceful, mature, formal, neat, natural, brisk, slim and so on. Its image deteriorated as the number of buttons increased. 4. Single jackets were found to be significantly different from Double jacket in their images. The former were perceived elegant, neat, and natural.

  • This study compares various transformation techniques for multifocus image fusion. Multi-focus image fusion is a procedure of merging multiple images captured at unalike focus distances to produce a single composite image with improved sharpness and clarity. In this research, the purpose is to compare different popular frequency domain approaches for multi-focus image fusion, such as Discrete Wavelet Transforms (DWT), Stationary Wavelet Transforms (SWT), DCT-based Laplacian Pyramid (DCT-LP), Discrete Cosine Harmonic Wavelet Transform (DC-HWT), and Dual-Tree Complex Wavelet Transform (DT-CWT). The objective is to increase the understanding of these transformation techniques and how they can be utilized in conjunction with one another. The analysis will evaluate the 10 most crucial parameters and highlight the unique features of each method. The results will help determine which transformation technique is the best for multi-focus image fusion applications. Based on the visual and statistical analysis, it is suggested that the DCT-LP is the most appropriate technique, but the results also provide valuable insights into choosing the right approach.

  • Shadow is a common phenomenon observed in natural scenes, but it has a negative influence on image analysis such as object recognition, feature detection and scene analysis. Therefore, the process of detecting and removing shadows included in digital images must be considered as a pre-processing process of image analysis. In this paper, the existing methods for acquiring 1D invariant images, one of the feature elements for detecting and removing shadows contained in a single natural image, are described, and a method for obtaining 1D invariant images based on linear regression has been proposed. The proposed method calculates the log of the band-ratio between each channel of the RGB color image, and obtains the grayscale image line by linear regression. The final 1D invariant images were obtained by projecting the log image of the band-ratio onto the estimated grayscale image line. Experimental results show that the proposed method has lower computational complexity than the existing projection method using entropy minimization, and shadow detection and removal based on 1D invariant images are performed effectively.
