개에서 시행한 한쪽 이식 폐의 $^{99m}TC-MAA$ 관류스캔 ($^{99m}TC-MAA$ Pulmonary Perfusion Scan in the Canine Single Luhg Transplant)

  • The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficiency of the pulmonary perfusion scan(Pp scan) in the experimental animal single lung transplantation. Eight left lung transplanted mongrel dogs were included in this study. The serial Pp scan with 111MBq $^{99m}TC-MAA$ were done at the periods of immediate postoperative period, POD 3 days, and POD 10-14 days and finally autopsy was done in each cases. The transplanted lung perfusion was analysed as a percentage radioactivity of trans planted/native lung(T/N) ratio. The Pp scan of a donor mongrel dog was used as a reference(left/right lung (T/N) ratio 85.2%). The average T/N ratio of all cases on immediate postoperative state(reperfusion injury) : 19.2%, three acute rejections. 12.6%, three bronchial dehiscences 6.1% and two pulmonary thromboses : 2.0%. Two cases showed moderate improvement of reperfusion injury as increasing the T/N ratio in POD 3 days Pp scan. The T/N ratio showed sequentially decreased in six cases. As a conclusion, the Pp scan could be a non-invasive method in the evaluation of the experimental one-lung transplanted mongrel dog.

Influence of Fungicidal Spray on Powdery Mildew Epidemics and Major Yield-Attributing Characters of Mungbean

  • The influence of fungicidal spray was assessed on powdery mildew epidemics caused by Erysiphe polygoni D.C. and on yield-attributing characters of mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek]. Mildew attack adversely affected the yield-attributing characters of mungbean and exhibited negative significant correlation with pod length (-0.57), pods/plant (-0.74), pod weight (-0.68), 100 seeds weight (-0.69), 100 seeds swell weight (-0.59), and seed germination (-0.71). These characters had direct or indirect effects on grain yield, which was also adversely affected due to mildew attack (-0.89). Powdery mildew was significantly retarded due to the single spray of carbendazim (0.05%) at 30-day-old crop, where the apparent rate of infection (r) was minimum at 0.0095/ unit/day and with low (11.44%) powdery mildew intensity. Other fungicides like tridemorph (0.075%) and penconazole (0.05%) were equally effective against the mildew disease where the disease intensity was less than 20% and the values of r were 0.0134 and 0.039/unit/day respectively, as compared with the control at 0.267/unit/day. Fungicide spray influenced the yield-attributing characters besides controlling the disease. Such effects were more pronounced in carbendazim (0.05%)-treated plots due to its phytotonic nature where pod length (7.59cm), pods/plant (29.75), pod weight (8.16 g), 100 grain weight (3.94 g), and swell weight of 100 seed (9.49 g) were maximum resulting to the highest yield (480 kg/ha) as compared with that of control (224 kg/ha). Spray of carbendazim also improved seed germination (74.5%). Spray of other fungicides like carbendazim with copper oxychloride in 1:1 ratio, tridemorph (0.075%), and penconazole (0.05%) was equally effective against powdery mildew of mungbean. These fungicides also exhibited positive effects on yield-attributing characters of the crop and finally increased yield. These systemic fungicides were more effective in controlling powdery mildew disease of V. radiata in the rainy season compared with wettable sulphur.

Outcomes Based on Risk Assessment of Anastomotic Leakage after Rectal Cancer Surgery

  • Purpose: Anastomotic leakage (AL) is associated with high morbidity and mortality, high reoperation rates, and increased hospital length of stay. Here we investigated the risk factors for AL after anterior resection for rectal cancer with a double stapling technique. Patients and Methods: Data for 460 patients who underwent primary anterior resection with a double stapling technique for rectal carcinoma at a single institution from 2003 to 2007 were prospectively collected. All patients experienced a total mesorectal excision (TME) operation. Clinical AL was defined as the presence of leakage signs and confirmed by diagnostic work-up according to ICD-9 codes 997.4, 567.22 (abdominopelvic abscess), and 569.81 (fistula of the intestine). Univariate and logistic regression analyses of 20 variables were undertaken to determine risk factors for AL. Survival was analysed using the Cox regression method. Results: AL was noted in 35 (7.6%) of 460 patients with rectal cancer. :Median age of the patients was 65 (50-74) and 161 (35%) were male. The diagnosis of AL was made between the 6th and 12th postoperative day (POD; mean 8th POD). After univariate and multivariate analysis, age (p=0.004), gender (p=0.007), tumor site (p<0.001), preoperative body mass index (EMI) (p<0.001), the reduction of TSGF on 5th POD less than 10U/ml (p=0.044) and the pH value of pelvic dranage less than or equal to 6.978 on 3rd POD (p<0.001) were selected as 6 independent risk factors for AL. Uniconazole과 Silver Thiosulfate 처리(處理)가 강남콩의 오존피해(被害) 경감(輕減)에 미치는 효과(效果) (Effect of Uniconazole and Silver Thiosulfate Treatment on Reduction of Ozone Injury in Snap Bean Plants)

  • 오존에 대(對)한 강낭콩 (Phaseolus vulgaris L. 'Strike')의 내성(耐性)을 증대(增大)시키고자 생장(生長) 왜화제(矮化劑)인 uniconazole과 antiethylene제(劑)인 STS를 강남콩에 단독(單獨) 또는 복합처리(複合處理)하고 오존을 처리(處理)하였던 바 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 1) Uniconazole은 0.005 mg/pot에서 부터 유의성(有意性) 있게 식물체(植物體)를 왜화(矮化)시켰으며, 엽록소(葉綠素)의 함량(含量)을 높혔고, 0.025 mg/pot에서는 기공저항성(氣孔低抗性)을 높혔다. 식물체(植物體)의 왜화정도(矮化程度)가 클수록 오존에 의한 피해경감(被害輕減) 효과(效果)가 큰것으로 나타났다. 2) STS는 식물체(植物體)에 ethylene 발생(發生)을 조장(助長)하였으나 uniconazole과 같은 생리적(生理的) 변화(變化)를 초래(招徠)하지 않고 0.6 mM의 살포(撒布)에서 오존의 피해(被害)를 현저(顯著)히 경감(輕減)시켰다. 3) Uniconazole과 STS를 복합처리(複合處理)함으로써 단독처리(單獨處理)에 비(比)하여 식물체(植物體)의 왜화(矮化)를 최소화(最小化)시키고 오존에 대(對)한 내성(耐性)을 더 증대(增大)시킬 수 있었다. 4) Uniconazole의 오존 내성(耐性) 증대효과(增大效果)는 생장왜화(生長矮化)와 함께 free radical scavenger인 SOD와 POD의 활성(活性)을 높혀준데 기인(起因)하였다. 5) STS 역시 antiethylene 역할(役割) 이외에 SOD와 POD의 활성(活性)을 다소 높혀줌으로써 오존에 대한 내성(耐性)을 증대(增大)시켜준 것으로 인정(認定)된다.

Does blastomere biopsy in preimplantation genetic diagnosis affect early serum ${\beta}$-hCG levels?

  • Objective: To determine whether the serum ${\beta}$-human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) profile following preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is lower than that of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles. Methods: A total of 129 PGD cycles and 1,161 age-matched ICSI cycles, which resulted in pregnancy (serum ${\beta}-hCG{\geq}5$ mIU/mL) on post-ovulation day (POD) 12 were included. We compared the mean serum ${\beta}$-hCG levels on POD 12, 14, 21, and 28, doubling time of serum hCG, and created a cut-off value for predicting a singleton pregnancy in each group. Results: The mean serum ${\beta}$-hCG concentration of the PGD group was significantly lower than that of the control group on POD 12, 14, and 21. The doubling time of serum ${\beta}$-hCG at each time interval showed no significant difference. The cut-off-value of serum ${\beta}$-hCG for predicting a single viable pregnancy was 32.5 mIU/mL on POD 12 and 113.5 mIU/mL on POD 14 for the PGD group, which was lower than that for the control group. Conclusion: Blastomere biopsy may decrease the ${\beta}$-hCG-producing activity of the trophoblasts, especially in early pregnancy. Setting a lower cut-off value of serum ${\beta}$-hCG for predicting pregnancy outcomes in PGD may be needed.

비질환 환자에서 비강수술 후 비음도 변화 (Nasalance Changes in Nasal Disease Patients after Nasal Cavity Operation)

  • Background and Objectives : This study was designed to examine the effect of nasal cavity surgery on voice in terms of nasalance by using subjective test, Visual analogue scale (VAS) and Nasometer and compare the pre op and post op results among patiets with nasal cavity disease. Materials and Method : From April 2009 to November 2009, data of thirty one patients who underwent nasal cavity surgery were prospectively evaluated. 24 males and 7 females with age range between 12 years to 80 years old (average 34 years old) were chosen. VAS was questioned to patients group before, after 1 week, after 1 month, and after 3 months from the surgery. Nasometer, was also conducted. Results: After the surgery symptoms like nasal obstruction, mouth breath, snoring, and sleep apnea were all improved. Improvements for nasal obstruction and mouth breath were observed statistically in post operative day (POD) 1 month and POD 3 months. Also snoring was improved statistically in POD 1 month. Objective nasalance test showed increases in a single and double vowel for POD 3 months. Only /je/ sound statistically-significant increased in all post operative periods. Nasalance increase were observed in other test results. Conclusion : All the symptoms are improved after nasal cavity surgery. Also there are some nasalance changes during whole period of study and return to the pre operative state in POD 3 months. Therefore, patients must be warned and understood about nasalance changes, and surgeons need to aware of various facts, which can affect voice changes before the surgery.

Numerical investigation of yaw angle effects on propulsive characteristics of podded propulsors

  • The present paper deals with the problems of yaw angle effects on podded propulsor performance. The study aims at providing insights on characteristics of podded propulsors in azimuthing condition. In this regard, a wide numerical simulation that concerned yaw angle effect measurement on podded propeller performance was performed. The Reynolds-Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) based solver is used in order to study the variations of hydrodynamic characteristics of podded propulsor at various angles. At first, the propeller is analyzed in open water condition in absence of pod and strut. Next flow around pod and strut are simulated without effect of propellers. Finally, the whole unit is studied in zero yaw angle and azimuthing condition. Structured and unstructured mesh techniques are used for single propeller and podded propulsor. The performance curves of the propeller obtained by numerical method are compared and verified by the experimental results. The characteristic parameters including the torque and thrust of the propeller, the axial force and side force of unit are presented as function of velocity advance ratio and yaw angle. The results shows that the propeller thrust, torque and podded unit forces in azimuthing condition depend on velocity advance ratio and yaw angle.

DC링크 스위치를 갖는 단상 5레벨 인버터 (Single Phase 5-level Inverter with DC-link Switches)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 멀티레벨 인버터와는 달리 DC링크단에 스위치를 설치함으로써 성능을 향상시킨 새로운 형태의 H-브리지 멀티레벨 인버터를 제안한다. 제안된 방식은 계통 연계형 단상 멀티레벨 인버터로서 기존의 단상인버터에 비하여 출력 전압 파형이 정현파에 가깝고, 고압 대용량 시스템용 멀티레벨 인버터로의 확장도 용이할 뿐만 아니라 직렬연결을 통하여 간단히 전압레벨을 확장할 수 있다는 장점을 갖는다. 동일한 5레벨의 경우 기존의 H-브리지 직렬형이나 NPC형 멀티레벨 인버터는 가제어 스위치가 8개 사용되는 반면에 제안한 멀티레벨 인버터는 가제어 스위치가 6개 사용되기 때문에 회로 구성이 간단하여 신뢰도가 높고 경제적인 구현이 가능하고 스위칭 손실이 줄어서 효율이 향상되는 특징이 있다. POD 변조기법을 기반으로 하여 반송파 신호 하나만을 사용하는 새로운 PWM 방법을 제시하였으며 DC링크 커패시터 전압의 균형을 위한 스위칭 시퀀스에 대해서도 검토하였다. 제안된 토폴로지의 타당성을 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 확인하였다.

  • 최근 기온변화 및 오염원 증가에 따른 수온 상승으로 수계 내에 부영양화가 진행되어 녹조가 다수 발생하고 있으며, 이러한 녹조의 발생과 감시를 위하여 위성영상을 이용한 연구가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 선행연구에서는 단일 지수만을 활용한 녹조탐지로 지역 수계의 광학적 특성을 고려하기 어려운 문제점 및 중·저해상도 위성영상을 활용하여 대규모의 녹조탐지를 수행함에 따라, 좁은 폭인 강에서의 녹조탐지에는 정확도가 떨어진다는 한계점이 존재한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 Sentinel-2 위성의 고해상도 영상을 활용하여 NDVI, SEI, FGAI 단일지수 및 본 연구에서 개발한 두 개의 혼합지수들을 녹조탐지에 활용하였다. 본 연구에서는 녹조탐지 알고리즘의 정확도 평가를 위해 POD, FAR, PC 값을 활용하였으며, FGAI와 SEI를 혼합한 지수가 전체 정확도 PC에서 98.29%로 제일 높은 정확도를 보였다.

DGPS 방식에 의한 위성의 정밀궤도 결정을 위한 GPS 원시 자료 전처리 (PREPROCESSING OF THE GPS RAW DATA FOR THE PRECISION ORBIT DETERMINATION BY DGPS TECHNIQUE)

  • 위성에 탑재된 GPS 수신기의 관측 자료를 활용하여 저궤도위성의 정밀궤도 결정을 위해서 반드시 필요한 관측 자료 전처리에 관련된 연구를 수행하였다. 전처리 과정에서는 반송파 위상 자료와 코드 자료에 있는 사이클 슬립, 시계 오차, 불량 관측값, 이온층 지연 효과 등을 제거하거나 보정하여 일정한 간격으로 재정렬된 이중차분 자료를 생성한다. DGPS 방식을 이용하여 저궤도 위성의 정밀궤도결정을 수행하면 그 정밀도가 수 미터에서 수 센티미터 수준에 달하기 때문에 전처리 과정에서도 그 정밀도에 영향을 미치지 않을 정도로 관측 자료의 편집이 정밀하게 수행되어야 한다. 그러나 GPS수신기가 자료를 수집하는 시간간격에 따라 관측 자료를 분해할 수 있는 한계가 달라지기 때문에 자료의 수신시간간격은 전처리의 성능과 직결된다. 또한 수신기의 성능과 수신기를 탑재한 위성의 고도에 따라서 자료의 질이 달라지기도 하므로, 이 논문에서는 DGPS 방식에 의한 위성의 정밀궤도결정을 수행하기 위한 전처리 과정에서 수신시간간격, 수신기의 성능과 위성의 고도에 따른 전처리의 성능을 분석하여 시간간격과 수신기의 종류에 따라 사용할 수 있는 전처리 방법을 제안하였다.
