In view of the growing medicinal importance of chromene and its derivatives, the single crystal X-ray diffraction study was carried out for the potential active 4,6-dimethyl-9-phenyl-8,12-dioxa-4,6-diazatetracyclo [8.8.0.02,7.013,18]octadeca-2(7),13,15,17-tetraene-3,5,11-trione-2-ethoxyphenyl (2E)-but-2-enoate ($C_{18}H_{20}N_2O_5$). In the title compound are two molecules exist in the asymmetric unit. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group $P2_1/c$ with unit cell dimension a=14.608(3) ${\AA}$, b=12.845(3) and c= 17.781(4) [alpha & gamma=$90^{\circ}$ beta=$91.233(5)^{\circ}$]. Both pyran and pyran ring of the chromene moiety adopts sofa conformation in the molecule A & B. The crystal structure is stabilized by intramolecular C-H...O hydrogen bond interaction.
Two novel binuclear metal-organic coordination complexes [$Cd_2(Hdpa)_4(bpy)_2$] (1), [$Dy_2(dpa)_2(bpy)_2(NO_3)_2-(H_2O)_2$](bpy) (2) (where $H_2dpa$ = biphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxylic acid, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, spectral method (IR), elemental analysis (EA), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), electronic spectra (UV-vis), fluorescent in the solid state and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Complexes 1-2 crystallizes isomorphously in the Triclinic space group P-1. The ${\pi}-{\pi}$ stacking interactions and hydrogen-bonds play a vital role in determining the crystal packing and construction of the extended 3-D supramolecular network.
NdAl3(BO3)4 have been developed for miniature solid state laser material. Single crystals of NdAl3(BO3)4 were grown by TSSG technique using BaB4O7 flux. The effects of growth conditions such as cooling rate, seed orientation and rotation speed on crystal quality and the morphology were studied. At the cooling rate of 2.4$^{\circ}C$/day and the crystal rotation speed of 30~40rpm with the seed orientation in <201> or <100> directions, transparent and light violet colored crystals in size of 10$\times$15$\times$20㎣ with well developed {010}, {111}, {111}, {021}, {001}, {102}, {112}, {021} faces were obtained. By X-ray diffraction analysis, the space group was determined as C2/c, and the X-ray powder data was obtained.
The stochiometric mix of evaporating materials for the CuGaSe$_2$ single crystal thin films was prepared from horizontal furnace. To obtain the single crystal thin films, CuGaSe$_2$ mixed crystal was deposited on thoroughly etched semi-insulating GaAs(100) substrate by the Hot Wall Epitaxy (HWE) system. The source and substrate temperature were 610$^{\circ}C$ and 450$^{\circ}C$, respectively The crystalline structure of single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction (DCXD). From the photocurrent spectrum by illumination of perpendicular light on the c-axis of the CuGaSe$_2$ single crystal thin film, we have found that the values of spin orbit splitting Δ So and the crystal field splitting ΔCr were 91 meV and 249.8 meV at 20 K, respectively. From the Photoluminescence measurement on CuGaSe$_2$ single crystal thin film, we observed free excition (Ex) existing only high quality crystal and neutral bound exiciton (D$^{\circ}$,X) having very strong peak intensity. Then, the full-width-at-half-maximum(FWHM) and binding energy 7f neutral acceptor bound excision were 8 meV and 35.2 meV, respectivity. By Haynes rule, an activation energy of impurity was 355.2 meV
$LiGaO_2$ films have been grown on Si (100) substrates using a new single precursor $[Li(OCH_2CH_2OCH_3)_2-Ga(CH_3)_2]_2$ under high vacuum conditions $(5{\times}10^{-6}Torr)$. The $[Li(OCH_2CH_2OCH_3)_2Ga(CH_3)_2]_2$ was synthe-sized and characterized by using spectroscopic methods and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The chemical composition, crystalline structure, and morphology of the deposited films were investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. The results show that polycrystalline $LiGaO_2$ films preferentially oriented in the [010] direction can be deposited on Si (100) at 500-550$^{\circ}C$ by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). The single precursor $[LiOCH_2CH_2OCH_3)_2-Ga(CH_3)_2]_2$ has been found suitable for chemical vapor deposition of $LiGaO_2$ thin films on Si substrates.
The crystal structure of licarin-B, a component of Myristicae Semen was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystal of the compound, which was recrystallized from the mixture of hexane and ether, is monoclinic with a=12.740(1), b=7.219(1), c=9.284(1) ${\AA}$, ${\beta}=94.75(1)^{\circ}$, $D_x=1.26$, $D_m=1.27\;g/cm^3$, space group P21, and Z=2. The structure was solved by direct method and refined by least-squares procedure to the final R value of 0.040 for 1532 independent reflections ${F{\ge}3{\sigma}(F)}$. The compound is a dimeric phenylpropanoid, and belongs to the neolignan analogues. The molecules are arranged along with the screw axis. The intermolecular contacts appear to be the normal van der Waals' forces.
In this work, a new cadmium complex $[Cd(L)(CH_3COO)_2].2H_2O$ (1) with the ligand L, N,N'-bis(2-pyridinecarboxalidene)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine was prepared and identified by elemental analysis, FT-IR, Raman, $^1H$ NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The cadmium atom in the crystal structure of 1 has distorted triangular dodecahedral geometry by coordination of the four nitrogen atoms of L and four oxygen atoms of the two acetate ions. Two water molecules are also incorporated in the crystal network. The $O-H{\cdots}O$ hydrogen bonds present in the crystal structure of 1. In this work, three structural surveys including coordination numbers of the cadmium atom, coordination modes of L and resonance in pyridine-2-ylmethanimine-based compounds are presented.

The crystal structure of ZnI2 molecule synthesized in zeolite A (LTA) has been studied by single-crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. A single crystal of |Zn6|[Si12Al12O48]-LTA, synthesized by the dynamic ion-exchange of |Na12|[Si12Al12O48]-LTA with aqueous 0.05 M Zn(NO3)2 and washed with deionized water, was placed in a stream of flowing 0.05 M KI in CH3OH at 294 K for four days. The resulting crystal structure of the product (|K6Zn3(KI)3(ZnI2)0.5|[Si12Al12O48]-LTA, a = 12.1690(10) A) was determined at 294 K by single-crystal X-ray diffraction in the space group Pm3m. It was refined with all measured reflections to the final error index R1 = 0.078 for 431 reflections which Fo > 4σ (Fo). At four crystallographically distinct positions, 3.5 Zn2+ and nine K+ ions per unit cell are found: three Zn2+ and five K+ ions lie on the 3-fold axes opposite 6-rings in the large cavity, two K+ ions are off the plane of the 8-rings, two K+ ions are recessed deeply off the plane of the 8-rings, and the remaining a half Zn2+ ion lie on the 3-fold axes opposite 6-rings in the sodalite cavity. A half Zn2+ ion and an I- ion per unit cell are found in the sodalite units, indicating the formation of a ZnI2 molecule in 50% of the sodalite cavities. Each ZnI2 (Zn-I = 3.35(5) A) is held in place by the coordination of its one Zn2+ ion to the zeolite framework oxygens and by the coordination of its two I- ions to K+ ions through 6-rings (I-K = 3.33(8) A). Three additional I- ions per unit cell are found opposite a 4-ring in the large cavity and form a K3I2+ and two K2ZnI3+ ionic clusters, respectively.
The crystal structure of diflunisal, 2',4'-difluoro-4-hydroxy-3-biphenyl-carboxylic acid, was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The compound was recrystallized from a mixture of acetone and water in monoclinic, space group C2/c, with $a\;=\;34.666(6),\;b\;=\;3.743(1),\;c\;=\;20.737(4)\;{\AA},\;{\beta}=\;110.57(2)^{\circ}$, and Z = 8. The calculated density is $1.324\;g/cm^3$. The structure was solved by the direct method and refined by full matrix least-squares procedure to the final R value of 0.045 for 1299 observed reflections. It was found that the molecules in the crystal are partially disordered, that is, the two equivalent conformers $(180^{\circ}$ rotated ones through C(1)-C(7)) are packed alternatively without regular symmetry or sequence. The two phenyl rings of the biphenyl group is tilted to each other by the dihedral angle of $43.3^{\circ}$. The carboxyl group at the salicylic moiety is just coplanar to the phenyl ring, and the planarity of this salicylic moiety is stabilized by an intramolecular hydrogen bond of O(3)-H(O3) O(2). The molecules are dimerized through the intermolecular hydrogen bonds at the carboxyl group in the crystal.
Single crystal 3C-SiC (cubic silicon carbide) thin-films were deposited on Si(100) wafer up to the thickness of 4.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ by APCVD (atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition) method using HMDS (hexamethyildisilane; {CH$_{3}$}$_{6}$ Si$_{2}$) at 135$0^{\circ}C$. The HMDS flow rate was 0.5 sccm and the carrier gas flow rate was 2.5 slm. The HMDS flow rate was important to get a mirror-like crystal surface. The growth rate of the 3C-SiC film was 4.3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$/hr. The 3C-SiC epitaxial film grown on Si(100) wafer was characterized by XRD (X-ray diffraction), AFM (atomic force microscopy), RHEED (reflection high energy electron diffraction), XPS (X-ray photoelecron spectroscopy), and Raman scattering, respectively. Two distinct phonon modes of TO (transverse optical) near 796 $cm^{-1}$ / and LO (longitudinal optical) near 974$\pm$1 $cm^{-1}$ / of 3C-SiC were observed by Raman scattering measurement. The heteroepitaxially grown film was identified as the single crystal 3C-SiC phase by XRD spectra (2$\theta$=41.5。).).
