수직이착륙기의 착륙접근시 단일엔진고장 및 비행전이 영역 해석 (Single Engine Failure during Approach and Transition Analyses of VTOL Aircraft)

  • 본 연구에서는 착륙 접근시 단일엔진 고장 분석 및 비행전이 해석을 통하여 수직이착륙기에서 요구하는 최적의 엔진추력과 날개하중비를 구하고자 한다. 항공기 해석 모듈들은 기존의 항공기 통합 사이징 프로그램을 기반으로 하고 있으며, 항공기 설계 및 해석을 하나로 묶는 컴퓨팅 체계 구축은 사용자 용도에 맞게 주문 제작이 용이한 반 완성 프로그램인 EMDIOS를 설계프레임웍으로 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 고도 40 ft 근처가 단일엔진고장시 가장 위험한 영역임을 확인할 수 있었으며, 비행전이 영역에 대한 파라메타 연구를 통하여 엔진 추력은 클수록, 반면에 엔진틸트각 회전속도와 날개 하중비는 작을수록 비행전이시의 고도 상실이 작아짐을 알 수 있었다.

정량적 엔진평가에 의한 엔진 윤활유 평가기술

  • It is very difficult to express the state of a tested engine objectively concerning the malfunction, failure and wear of an engine. The general method of engine evaluation is to express evaluator's opinion for the engine state after testing. However, these methods is only subjective evaluation because test engineers, designers, and evaluators does not easily coincide in opinion. Therefore, in this article, the method of engine rating are introduced in order to represent the qualitative trends into quantitative value. The purpose of Engine Rating is to assign a quantified value to the tribology state of a tested engines. Originally, this Engine Rating method have been used to evaluate the performance of engine oil quantitavely. Using this method, we can predict the proper interval of engine oil change due to its objectivity. So, we can prevent the frequent change of engine oil and protect the environmental contamination. Furthermore, this method can be used to tell the general state of a tested engine after finishing engine durability tests. A single merit scale is used to evaluate numerically the state of cleanliness and the mechanical condition. Generally, a part which is absolutely clean or shows no wear, is rated merit 10. A part which is absolutely dirty or very worn, is rated merit 0.

  • 본 논문에서 Compressor 및 turbine 에서의 Blade failure등의 내부파손이 이를 둘러싸고 있는 케이스 내부에 머무르게 하는 엔진설계의 방법에 대한 이론 및 Simulation 등을 기술 하였다. 가장 무거운 부품 중에 하나인 케이스의 두께 최적화는, 항공기의 안정성뿐만 아니라 항공 효율을 높이기 위한 경량화의 목적을 위해서도 매우 중요한 설계목표 이다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 이론적 접근방법으로 에너지 밸런스 방법을 사용하였으며, 파손된 블레이드의 거동특성 및 영향성 평가를 위한 유한요소해석을 위하여 LS-DYNA가 사용 되어졌다.

Fixed Homography-Based Real-Time SW/HW Image Stitching Engine for Motor Vehicles

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient architecture for a real-time image stitching engine for vision SoCs found in motor vehicles. To enlarge the obstacle-detection distance and area for safety, we adopt panoramic images from multiple telegraphic cameras. We propose a stitching method based on a fixed homography that is educed from the initial frame of a video sequence and is used to warp all input images without regeneration. Because the fixed homography is generated only once at the initial state, we can calculate it using SW to reduce HW costs. The proposed warping HW engine is based on a linear transform of the pixel positions of warped images and can reduce the computational complexity by 90% or more as compared to a conventional method. A dual-core SW/HW image stitching engine is applied to stitching input frames in parallel to improve the performance by 70% or more as compared to a single-core engine operation. In addition, a dual-core structure is used to detect a failure in state machines using rock-step logic to satisfy the ISO26262 standard. The dual-core SW/HW image stitching engine is fabricated in SoC with 254,968 gate counts using Global Foundry's 65 nm CMOS process. The single-core engine can make panoramic images from three YCbCr 4:2:0 formatted VGA images at 44 frames per second and frequency of 200 MHz without an LCD display.

특성곡선법을 이용한 디젤엔진 가스유동 1차원 수치해석의 타당성 평가 (Validation of diesel engine gas flow one-dimensional numerical analysis using the method of characteristics)

  • In order to design a diesel engine system and predict its performance, it is necessary to analyze the gas flow of the intake and exhaust system. A gas flow analysis in three-dimensional (3D) format needs a high-resolution workstation and enormous time for analysis. Therefore, the method of characteristics (MOC) was used for a gas flow analysis with a fast calculation time and a low-resolution workstation. An experiment was conducted on a single cylinder diesel engine to measure pressure in cylinder, intake pipe and exhaust pipe. The one-dimensional (1D) gas flow was analyzed under the same conditions as the experiment. The engine speed, valve timing and compression ratio were the same conditions and the intake pressure was inputted as the experimental results. Bent pipe such as an exhaust port that cannot be realized in 1D was omitted. As results of validation, the cylinder pressure showed accuracy, but the exhaust pipe pressure exhibited inaccuracy. This is considered as an error caused by the failure to implement a bent pipe such as an exhaust port. When analyzed in 3D, calculation time required 61 hours more based on a model of this study. In the future, we intend to implement a bent pipe that cannot be realized in 1D using 3D and prepare a method to supplement reliability by using 1D-3D coupling.

고장 검출 필터를 사용한 항공기 터보팬 엔진 시스템의 고장 검출 (Fault Detection of Aircraft Turbofan Engine System Using a Fault Detection Filter)

  • 하드웨어 이중화 구성 수를 줄이는 대표적인 방법은 마이크로컨트롤러로 고장을 검출, 식별 및 수용을 위한 해석적 기법으로 구현하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 해석적 기법 중 하나인 고장 검출 필터를 항공기 터보팬 엔진 시스템에 적용하였다. 고장 검출 필터는 특수한 형태의 관측기로써 특정한 고장 발생시 잔차가 출력 공간에서 일정한 방향을 유지함으로써 고장의 위치 판별이 가능한 장점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 터보팬 엔진 내 공기 터빈 시스템의 단일 입출력 동적 시스템 모델링, 고장 검출 필터 설계 및 이를 적용한 모의실험 결과를 나타내었다. 모의실험 결과를 통해 고장 검출 필터가 갖는 방향성에 대한 민감성 효과로 고장 검출이 유효하게 적용될 수 있음을 보였다.

  • 글로벌 싱글 인스턴스(GSI) 기반의 기업의 정보시스템은 기업 내부정보 및 자원/자산을 통합관리하고 프로세스의 동질성을 확보하여 업무의 효율성 및 전사적인 생산성을 향상시키고 있지만 정보시스템의 장애가 발생하게 되면 비즈니스가 마비될 수 있고 그로 인해 엄청난 금전적 손실이 따르는 위험을 동시에 안고 있다. 여분의 부품 사용을 전제하는 수많은 결함허용(Fault-Tolerance) 기법들이 안정적인 정보시스템을 위해 연구되어 왔다. 결함허용 기법의 설계 및 적용의 어려운 점은 결함의 유형 및 빈도를 정보시스템을 운영하기 전에는 알기 어렵다는 것이다. 따라서 정보시스템 구축 단계에서의 결함허용 기법의 적용과 함께, 구축 후, 운영적인 측면에서의 장애관리 기법을 동시에 고려하여 안정적으로 정보시스템을 운영하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 기술분류체계(TRM)기반의 점검포인트와 이벤트 룰엔진 적용으로 시스템 장애를 사전예측 하는 방법을 포함하는 정보시스템 장애관리 기법인 무장애체계 프로세스를 제시 하였다. 또한, 무장애체계 방법을 적용한 장애관리 정보시스템(PICS)을 하이테크 장치산업의 대표기업에 구축하여 무장애체계 방법 적용 전, 후의 효과도 함께 제시 하였다. 무장애체계 도입 후 월별 장애건수, 장애시간은 각각 46%, 56% 감소하였으며, 장애로 인한 매출에 대한 기회 손실금액은 77% 절감하는 효과를 보였다.

Rotary Mower의 제작과 그 이용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Rotary Mower and Its Utilization.)

  • Since the most of Korean dairy and cattle raising farms are too small to introduce western mechanized farming, it is necessary to develope small size equipments. This study has been carried to develop a rotary mower as on attachment of 8 to 10 horse powertiller which is widely spread in rural area. It will not ony be helpfull for the farmers to harvesting hay grass but also desirable to increase the power tiller utility. The protto type rotary mower designed through the fundamental investigations, has been modified and improved through the field trials, and a series of field tests has been carried to investigate its performance and economic feasibility comparing with existing vailable harvesting equipments. The results are as follows; 1. To increase the stability, two guide wheels are attached to both side of the protto type rotary mower. 2. To prevent the clinging of tall grasses, the vertical driving shafts are covered with cylindrical protectors. 3. The cutting height is adjustable in 8 steps from 2.5 to 20 centimeters by changing the length of guide wheel legs. 4. The practical Critical cutting speed were always higher than theoretical value in both case of single cutting blade and three when the cutting depth was 25 millimeter. 5. The peripheral speed of cutting blade was varied in response to the change of engine speed, mean while the peripheral speed was adequate as it was changhed from 25 to 35 meter per second when the power tiller is operated in proper working ground speed. 6. The time requirement to harvest 10 a were 88.7, 54.6 and 41.4 minutes for the first, second and third stage of ground speed respectively, and because of the difficulty of delivery, it was observed that operating with fourth stage of ground speed was not recomanendable when the grass height is taller than 90 centimeters. 7. The performance of rotary mower were 1.1-1.7, 1.4-4.0, 3.8-11.8 and 7.4-22.0 times of reciprocating mower, portable disc type cutter, hay scythe and ordinary sickle respectively. 8. When the slope exceeds, 20 degree the downward harvesting operation was impossible because of the excessive front end weight, while less than 5 degree of land slope did not effect in field operation. 9. Increased traveling spee caused higher cutting height and slight cutting failure, but seems not to effect to the gross yield, and the efficiency of cutting width were from 83 to 94 precent. 10. Tn rank of economy were rotary mower (3,2 stage operation), reciprocating mower, hay scythe, portable disc type cutter and sickle in order when the annul operation exdeeds 100 hours. From the above results, it is convinced that the protto type rotary mower is good enough to the livestock farmers as a hay harvesting equipment because of its economy, hardiness in operating and its out standing performance and hopefully it will contribute to the extension of Korean livestock farming.
