  • In this paper, the bit error ratio(BER) performance of multi-carrier CDMA system in multi-user/multi-path environment is analytically derived, and effect of interferences due to multi-user, multi-carrier, multi-path is analyzed. A multi-carrier/multi-user/multi-path joint detection scheme incorporating a decorrelating detector is proposed, and its performance as well as the enhancement of noise due to decorrelating process are analyzed. BER of the proposed joint detection scheme is only slightly degraded compared to the ideal case of single user environment.

  • In this study, it was investigated about dyeability, light-fastness, wash-fastness and tensile strength in PET fiber using the effective carrier solvent such as benzyl alcohol, benzaldehyde and acetophenone. As a results, dyeability in mixed solvent was better than that of single solvent. And dyeability in mixed solvents of benzyl aldehyde and acetophenone was of them. But effective carrier action was resulted in decrease of properties such as light-fastness and tensile strength of PET fiber after dyeing.

  • Blanking process is widely used fur producing various structural parts. However, fine blanking technology is frequently used as a single step blanking operation with clean cut surface of a sheared surface because the fractured surface of parts causes serious problems in the final product and therefore it must be removed by the post-processing in case of the conventional blanking. In the present investigation, a fine blanking process was designed within the framework of progressive die to produce a carrier plate assembled within the auto transmission. Finite element analysis of the shearing behavior at the respective stage of the progressive fine blanking was conducted to validate the designed die parameters. Finally the designed progressive fine blanking process was experimentally evaluated by using the machined die.

  • Multi carrier transmissions are digital modulation techniques where a single data symbol is transmitted at multiple subcarriers which are orthogonal to each other. With his technique, frequency diversity can be achieved. The performance of multi carrier transmission systems with various structure are analyzed, where data is transmitted over multi-path Rayleigh fading channel. The performance of this technique, gauged by the average bit error rate, is compared dependent upon the various structures.

  • Among the various possible factors affecting the Minority Carrier Life Time (MCLT) of the mc-Si crystal, dislocations formed during the cooling period after solidification were found to be a major element. It was confirmed that other defects such as grain boundary or twin boundary were not determinative defects affecting the MCLT because most of these defects seemed to be formed during the solidification period. With a measurement of total thickness variation (TTV) and bow of the silicon wafers, it was found that residual stress remaining in the mc-Si crystal might be another major factor affecting the MCLT. Thus, it is expected that better quality of mc-Si can be grown when the cooling process right after solidification is carried out as slow as possible.

  • In this letter we report on the carrier velocity of polycrystalline pentacene transistors as a function of electric field. We performed a series of measurements on devices with a range of channel lengths. At moderate electric fields (<$5{\times}10^5$ V/cm), the characteristics are similar to those of disordered or amorphous organic semiconductors. The highest velocities we have measured are near $6{\times}10^4$ cm/s at room temperature. We perform quasi-static and dynamic measurements to measure carrier velocity. These results fill an important void between experimental results that have been obtained with disordered/amorphous organic semiconductors and single crystals.

  • Multi-carrier waveforms have several advantages over single-carrier waveforms for radar communication. Employing multi-carrier complementary phase-coded (MCPC) waveforms in radar applications has recently attracted significant attention. MCPC radar signals take advantage of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing properties, and several authors have explored the use of MCPC signals and the difficulties associated with their implementation. The sidelobe level and peak-to-mean-envelope-power ratio (PMEPR) are the key issues that must be addressed to improve the performance of radar signals. We propose a scheme that applies pattern-based scaling and geometric progression methods to enhance sidelobe and PMEPR levels in MCPC radar signals. Numerical results demonstrate the improvement of sidelobe and PMEPR levels in the proposed scheme. Additionally, autocorrelations are obtained and analyzed by applying the proposed scheme in extensive simulation experiments.

  • The need for position information in indoor environments has been growing lately. Several indoor navigation systems have been studied. Among them, pseudolite-based indoor positioning systems are one of the best systems to obtain precise position measurements. However, the installation of such systems is very difficult because the calibration of pseudolite antenna position is complicated. For precise calibration, the use of carrier phase measurements is necessary, and whenever carrier phase measurements are considered, problems with cycle ambiguity appear. In this paper, a new approach to calibrate the positions of pseudolite antennas is proposed. By using a multi-antenna, the ambiguity can be eliminated, epoch by epoch, for every single carrier phase measurement. Moreover, the number of calibration points can be reduced down to 3 by use of measurements collected at unknown positions. Using the proposed methods, the process of the collection of carrier phase measurements becomes considerably simple and convenient. Simulation results are presented to verify the proposed algorithms.

  • We propose an efficient frequency-time domain resource allocation scheme in multi-carrier (MC) direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS/CDMA) communications. We consider, as a power allocation strategy in the frequency domain, transmitting each user's DS waveforms over the user's sub-band with the largest channel gain. We then consider rate adaptation in the time domain, where the data rate is adapted such that a desired transmission quality is maintained. We analyze the achievable average data rate of the proposed scheme with fixed average transmission power, and compare the performance to single carrier DS/CDMA systems with power and rate adaptations.

  • A new kind of oxygen carrier material is tested for chemical-looping combustion. NiO, CoO, $Fe_2O_3$ is chosen as metal oxide and YSZ as a binder. Hydrogen fuel is reacted with metal oxide (reduction of metal oxide) and then the reduced metal is successively oxidized by air. Dissolution method is examined to prepare the oxygen carriers. The effects of reaction temperature are measured by a TGA, mechanical strength and regenerability after 10 cycle are examined. $Fe_2O_3/YSZ$ oxygen carrier is bested in mechanical strength and we consider that NiO/YSZ after 3rd cycle are good oxygen carrier in according to reactor design.
