It has been suggested that the bush warbler (Cettia diphone borealis) uses different song types in various situations. We analyzed song features and conducted playback experiments in order to reveal the function of songs of the bush warbler. Two song types were identified. The short song type has a shorter song duration than that of normal song types and consists of only one or two syllables. Due to its short syllable and low amplitude of the whistle portion, we were able to discriminate the short song type (S song type). from the normal song type (N song Type). In the playback experiments, bush warblers sang high rates of short song type for the first three minutes after playback. After 6 minutes of playback, males changed to singing normal songs. These results suggest that the short song of the bush warbler may function to threaten or drive off intruding males.

Listening comprehension is an integrative and creative process of interaction through which listeners receive speakers' production of linguistic or non-linguistic knowledge. Compared with reading comprehension, it may arouse difficulties and thus impose more burdens on foreign learners. The Audio-Lingual Method focused primarily on speaking. Mimicry, repetition, rote memory, and transformation drills actually interfered with listening comprehension. So learners lost interest and were not highly motivated. Improving listening comprehension requires continual attentiveness and interest. Listening skill can be extended systematically only when students are frequently exposed to a wide range of listening materials with an affective, cultural, social, and psycholinguistic approach. Therefore, teachers should help students learn how to comprehend intactly the overall meaning of intended messages. The literature on teaching listening skill suggests various useful activities: TPR, dictation, role playing, singing, picture recognition, completion, prediction, seeking specific information, summarizing, labeling, humor, jokes, cartoons, media, and so on. Practical classroom teaching necessitates a systematic procedure in which students should take part in meaningful tasks/activities. In addition to this, learners must practice listening comprehension trough a self-study process.

The purpose of this study was to develop an integrated music activity model based on musical concepts for 2-year-old children in order to include music in whole personality education in a rapidly changing society with increasing need for toddler care. Research methods were review of literature and survey. Subjects were 185 teachers in B city. They were asked to record their thoughts and needs during the process of musical activities with toddlers. Research concluded that an integrated music activity model for toddlers requires statement of purpose, contents based on musical concepts, and appropriate teaching methods which can be extended to arts education in general. Discussion further suggested diverse expression through singing, listening, body movement and combining with other arts.

During the 3C(B.C.) and 2C(A.D.), there were large influx of variety of arts to Jin and Han dynasty such as music, dancing, and at performing from neighboring countries. It made a tremendous impact on the development of dancing an in Han dynasty. On the other hand, Kokurye people had also enjoyed their own singing and dancing culture (styles) for a long time. Han and Kokurye's dancing costumes were studied based on artifacts (data) such as wall paintings, clay doll, and other small paintings all from tombs in Han and Kokurye. A similarity was found between two dynasties' dancing costume, since both had tong sleeve dresses. However, the further detailed study showed that one can't simply say both are in the same style. For example, the dress in Han dynasty had a long length style of coat(深衣) covering all the way to feet, and there were round neckline coat(團領) and long Jacket(장유). In contrast, that of Kokurye had a shorter length in coat(直領) covering only up to calf of the leg or long jacket(장유).

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of using songs for the acquisition of English Prosody in elementary school. For the purpose, 8 classes were chosen to teach songs for four months, and listening tests and reading test were performed for analyzing the effect. The result is as follows : (1) The result of listening test showed that the average scores of the experimental classes were higher than those of comparative classes, and it was more effective in lower grades than in upper grades. (2) In pronunciation tests, the pronunciations of experimental classes were more similar to native speaker's pronunciation that those of comparative classes in intonation, lexical stress and sentence stress. (3) Singing songs repeatedly is more important than learning many songs. It means that to give the chances to sing as many times as possible is advisable for teaching pronunciation.

본 연구에서는 매미가 소형이면서도 광대역의 소리를 낼 수 있는 원리가 무엇인지를 파악하고 이중 음향 발생 장치 제작에 적용할 수 있는 요소를 도출하였다. 매미의 발음기관에서 가장 중요한 부분은 복부 공명실과 진동판이다. 복부 공명실은 위상 반전형 인클로져 시스템으로 모델링 할 수 있으며, 진동판은 돔 형태의 박판으로 볼 수 있다. 근육에서 발생된 입력 신호는 진동판의 곡면에 의해 판에 좌굴을 일으켜 높은 음압의 소리를 발생시킨다. 발생된 소리는 복부를 통해 위상이 반전되어 특정 대역이 강조된다. 진동판의 가장 큰 특징은 곡면구조에 의한 비선형적인 출력이며 이를 통하여 가진 주파수와 상이한 주파수 성분들을 효과적으로 발생시키게 된다. 이러한 구조를 음향 발생장치로 활용하기 위하여 단순한 곡면판의 기하학적 파라미터 변화에 따른 출력 변화 경향을 관찰 하였으며, 이러한 원리를 활용한 음향 발생장치를 구성하였다.

Teachers need to provide a variety of learning experiences for pupils in elementary school mathematics. This is necessary due to pupils (a) achieving at diverse levels of accomplishment in the mathematics curriculum. (b) individually possessing different learning styles. The following, among others, can be relevant learning activities to present to pupils: 1. using a selected series of elementary school mathematics textbooks. 2. utilizing the flannel board to guide individual pupil achievement in mathematics. 3. helping pupils attach meaning to learning through the use of markers. 1. guiding pupils in learning by using place value charts. 5. aiding learner achievement through the use of transparencies and the overhead projector. 6. stimulating learner interest in mathematics with the use of selected filmstrips. 7. using graphs in functional situations. 8. helping young pupils to develop interest in numbers by singing songs directly related to ongoing units of study in elementary school mathematics. 9. using the geoboard to help pupils experience the world of geometry. 10. providing drill and practice for pupils so that previous developed learnings will not be forgotten.

P.A.(public address) system is considered as an useful active soundscape appliance which can gives a place identity and vitality by introducing conventional musics, environmental musics, bird singing sounds etc. In this study, the main aim is to know the optimistic distance from the speaker and sound pressure level range of introducing sound. So, the sound pressure level of P.A. system due to distances were measured and subjects' responses with level variations were checked. The main results are as follows. Level range from 64 dB to 71 dB is comfortable for subjects. And the optimal level of introducing sound is related with sound source characteristics. The results of this study could be used for street furniture location design and P.A. system output level.

This study is an experimental study to introduce the soundscape design for urban parks. subjective response to soundscape for 4 urban park are carried out using 7 scale S.D. method which are included 25 adjective pairs. In order to recognized the effect environmental sound(bird singing, sweet environmental music, nature sound) for enriching the present sondscape, this study analyse the subject response for soundscape after and before using the environmental sound. The degree of satisfaction for visual atmosphere is higher than for auditory atmosphere of parks, this means that visual clues are much more effective to the environment condition than auditory clues. The effect of using the environmental sound is positive and effective to enrich the soundscape. On providing environmental sounds, it is necessary to consider the charcteristics of urban parks.

The experimental study of die-sinking electrical discharge machining(EDM) was conducted for Cold Die Alloy Steel of SKD-11 with rotary electrode according to the peak current of 11A, 15A and 19A, and the duty factor of 0.24, 0.45. dielectric fluid flow through the electrode inside according to the change of electrode internal diameter during the EDM working. Material removal rate(MRR) was increased with flushing & rotation of electrode at the condition for the peak current of 15A, 19a but the MRR is decreased at the flushing only. The more surface roughness was obtained for the case of the flushing & rotation under the peak current of 19A.
