Notes on Korean Higher Fungi (한국고등균류기(韓國高等菌類記))

  • 50 specimens of higher fungi were collected on Mt. Sobaek and Andong areas from September 5, 1974 to July 30, 1975. These fungi were identified by Imazeki and Hongo's classification key based on Singer's taxonomic system. Nine species of them were newly recognized to occur in Korea; Hygrophorus pantoleucus Hongo. Marasmius prasiosmus (Fr.) Fr. Conocybe lactea (Lange) Metrod, Pholiota spumosa(Fr.) Sing., Crepidotus sulphurinus Imaz. et Toki, Pantoleucus retipes (Berk. et Curt.) Sing., Calodon zonatus(Fr.) $Qu{\acute{e}}l$, Patella scutellata (St. Amans) Morgan and Peziza badia Pers. ex Merat.

  • This paper describes design and implementation of the system that is used to efficiently retrieve music information at a digital music library. Unlike typical music information retrieval systems, this system allows the user to sing a part of the melody through the microphone which he/she wants to find rather than using title, composer or the subject catalog to search. The system then recognizes the musical notes information through the signal processing of the sounds of the entered melody, and the intervals contour is created based on this information and used as a search pattern. By running the proposed notes string search algorithm that uses the musical notes information processed with the user input, and it produces the approximate search results. Therefore, users are able to retrieve and appreciate the music whenever he/she can sing any portion of the desired music.

  • The four stocks of Lentinus edodes (Berk.) SING.-1-3, 16-3, 5NG2, 5NG3 were used as mating materials. As a result of full stock mating pattern for four stocks, all of mating types formed clamp connection but degrees of formation of clamp connection and period required for the formation were somewhat different among all of the mating types. In the mating of two New Guinean stocks-5NG2, 5NG3-, the mycelial growth and the formation of clamp connection was comparatively reduced.

  • We design Collision Avoidance System using model vehicle. The purpose of this system(Collision Avoidance System) is to maintain continuously constant distance between a forward running vehicle and a following automatic guided vehicle(AGV). For this system, we design modeling of vehicle and observe this through simulation. By sing super sonic sensors to measure the distance between vehicles and controller using 80c196kc for changing velocity of motor, we design Collision Avoidance System as maintaining continuously constant distance between vehicles.

  • Acoustic communication system is a transmission technology sending sound and data simultaneously. However, data signal can be audible in this system when data is transmitted with high transmission power. The more transmission power is reduced, the more distance that can transmit data is shortened. Therefore, the study that increase the transmission distance is needed. In this paper, we would like to increase transmission distance by adapting receive diversity in acoustic communication system. We measure received performance of both proposed system and Single Input Sing Output (SISO) system according to distance with same transmission power. When SISO satisfies Bit Error Rate (BER) of $7{\times}10^{-3}$ at about 2m, Selection Combining (SC) technique satisfies 2 meters, and Equal Gain Combining (EGC) technique satisfies 4 meters.

  • In this paper, a korean text to sign language translation system is designed and implemented for the hearing impaired people to learn letters and to have a conversation with normal people. We adopt the direct method for machine translation which uses morphological analysis and the dictionary search. And we define the necessary sign language dictionaries. Based on this processes, the system translate korean sentences to sign language moving picture. The proposed dictionaries are composed of the basic sign language dictionary, the compound sing language dictionary, and the resemble sign language dictionary. The basic sign language dictionary includes basic symbols and moving pictures of korean sign language. The compound sing language dictionary is composed of key-words of basic sign language. In addition, we offered the similar letters at the resemble sign language dictionary. The moving pictures of searched sign symbols are displayed on a screen in GIF formats by continuous motion of sign symbols or represented by the finger spelling based on the korean code analysis. The proposed system can provide quick sign language search and complement the lack of sign languages in the translation process by using the various sign language dictionaries which are characterized as korean sign language. In addition, to represent the sign language using GIF makes it possible to save the storage space of the sign language.   • This report is on the Reinforcing System(MFRI) for Concrete Structure using FRP ROD & High-Performance Mortar. The main characteristic of this system is as follow. First, the fiber rods in this system have seven times greater tensile strength than general reinforcing steel bars(re-bar) and the weight is a fifth lighter. Camels coated on the fiber rods' surfaces to improve adhesive strength and pull-out strength. Second, high strength shotcrete mortar is has very good workability and low rebound rate. After installing the Fiber Rods, Shotcrete mortar Is applied or sprayed to finish reinforcement. Finally, MFRI system has excellent fire-resisting performance and sogood tolerance against external environment by inserting fiber rods and reinforcing materials into mortar which has high compressive strength. It is applied to bridge slab, utility box and tunnel of civil engineering works, and beam and slab of building structures.

  • An equivalent electroacoustic circuit approach of estimating the sound absorption coefficient for parallel perforated plate system is proposed. The proposed approach is validated by comparing the calculated absorption coefficients of a parallel single layer perforated plate system with the values measured by the two-microphone impedance tube method for various porosity and the number of perforated plate. The sound absorbing performances of parallel and series perforated plate systems are compared and discussed from a standpoint of frequency bandwidth with sound absorption. The proposed approach is further extended to the parallel double layer perforated plate system.

  • The user-centric broadcasting environment includes the agent system and personalized broadcasting services for user-adaptive TV watching. In this paper, we propose broadcasting environment consisting of personalized broadcasting services and a multi-agent broadcasting system for the services. The proposed system employs the intelligent agent technology of the Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) as well as metadata technology of MPEG-7 and TV-Anytime Forum (TVAF). To verify the usefulness of the proposed environment, we implemented a test-bed and demonstrated the proposed agent system with three services including intelligent user-information management service, information mobility service, and content retrieval service.
