  • Invisible passenger airbag door system of hard panel types must be designed with a weakened area such that the side airbag will deploy through the instrument panel as like intended manner, with no flying debris at any required operating temperature. At the same time, there must be no cracking or sharp edges in the head impact test. If the advanced airbag with the big difference between high and low deployment pressure ranges are applied to hard panel types of invisible passenger airbag (IPAB) door system, it becomes more difficult to optimize the tearseam strength for satisfying deployment and head impact performance simultaneously. It was introduced the 'Operating Window' idea from quality engineering to design the hard panel types of IPAB door system applied to the advanced airbag for optimal deployment and head impact performance. Zigzab airbag folding and 'n' type PAB mounting bracket were selected.

Improved marine predators algorithm for feature selection and SVM optimization

  • Owing to the rapid development of information science, data analysis based on machine learning has become an interdisciplinary and strategic area. Marine predators algorithm (MPA) is a novel metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the foraging strategies of marine organisms. Considering the randomness of these strategies, an improved algorithm called co-evolutionary cultural mechanism-based marine predators algorithm (CECMPA) is proposed. Through this mechanism, search agents in different spaces can share knowledge and experience to improve the performance of the native algorithm. More specifically, CECMPA has a higher probability of avoiding local optimum and can search the global optimum quickly. In this paper, it is the first to use CECMPA to perform feature subset selection and optimize hyperparameters in support vector machine (SVM) simultaneously. For performance evaluation the proposed method, it is tested on twelve datasets from the university of California Irvine (UCI) repository. Moreover, the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can be a real-world application and is spreading in many countries. CECMPA is also applied to a COVID-19 dataset. The experimental results and statistical analysis demonstrate that CECMPA is superior to other compared methods in the literature in terms of several evaluation metrics. The proposed method has strong competitive abilities and promising prospects.

전륜구동 전기자동차의 기어비 변경에 따른 구동 특징 민감도 분석 (Sensitivity Analysis on Driving Characteristics According to Change in Gear Ratio of a Front Wheel Drive Electric Vehicle)

  • Acceleration performance, maximum velocity, urban driving energy consumption, and high-way driving energy consumption are important characteristics of electric vehicle driving. This study analyzes the effect of a gear ratio on these characteristics for a front wheel drive electric vehicle. The normalized sensitivity metric is used to compare the sensitivity of these scaled characteristics to the changes in the gear ratio. The sensitivity analysis results show that the normalized values are 0.95 for maximum velocity, 0.91 for acceleration performance, 0.51 for urban driving energy consumption, and 0.24 for high-way driving energy consumption. Therefore, the maximum velocity was affected the most by the changes in the gear ratio. These results can be used to determine the gear ratio of a front wheel drive electric vehicle to optimize the driving characteristics simultaneously.

  • In this paper, we perform a mechanism analysis and optimal design of the feeding system in a industrial sewing machine. Sewing machines are classified by the transfer mechanism as (1) transferred by feeddog only (2) transferred by feeddog and needle (3) transferred by feeddog, needle and pressure bar. The sewing machine classified as (2) is studied which is more efficient in transferring fabrics than the machine classified as (1). In analyzing the mechanism, we divide the feeding mechanism as feeddog mechanism and needle bar mechanism. The two mechanisms are conneted with each other kinematically because fabrics are transferred by two needles and a feeddog simultaneously and stitched by two needles which pass through the feeddog in every stitch cycle. We define good stitch as coincidence of stitch between the forward and reverse motion of feeding. We optimize the feeding mechanism for that purpose. It is illustrated that stitching performance of the optimized mechanism is compared to original feeding mechanism.

A Systematic Review of Cortical Excitability during Dual-Task in Post-Stroke Patients

  • Objective: Stroke is a leading cause of disability worldwide, often leaving survivors with significant cognitive and motor impairments. Dual-task (DT), which involves performing cognitive and motor tasks simultaneously, can influence brain activation patterns and functional recovery in stroke patients. Design: A systematic review Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, databases including MEDLINE, CINAHL, Embase, and Web of Science were searched for studies assessing cortical activation via functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) during DT performance in stroke patients. Studies were selected based on predefined eligibility criteria, focusing on changes in hemodynamic responses and their correlation with task performance. Results: Eight studies met the inclusion criteria. Findings indicate that DT leads to increased activation in the prefrontal cortex (PFC), premotor cortex (PMC), and posterior parietal cortex (PPC), suggesting an integrated cortical response to managing concurrent cognitive and motor demands. However, increased activation did not consistently translate to improved functional outcomes, highlighting the complex relationship between brain activation and rehabilitation success. Conclusions: DT interventions may enhance cortical activation and neuroplasticity in post-stroke patients, but the relationship between increased brain activity and functional recovery remains complex and requires further investigation. Tailored DT programs that consider individual neurophysiological and functional capacities are recommended to optimize rehabilitation outcomes.

Demand Response Based Optimal Microgrid Scheduling Problem Using A Multi-swarm Sine Cosine Algorithm

  • Demand response (DR) refers to the customers' active reaction with respect to the changes of market pricing or incentive policies. DR plays an important role in improving network reliability, minimizing operational cost and increasing end users' benefits. Hence, the integration of DR in the microgrid (MG) management is gaining increasing popularity nowadays. This paper proposes a day-ahead MG scheduling framework in conjunction with DR and investigates the impact of DR in optimizing load profile and reducing overall power generation costs. A linear responsive model considering time of use (TOU) price and incentive is developed to model the active reaction of customers' consumption behaviors. Thereafter, a novel multi-swarm sine cosine algorithm (MSCA) is proposed to optimize the total power generation costs in the framework. In the proposed MSCA, several sub-swarms search for better solutions simultaneously which is beneficial for improving the population diversity. A cooperative learning scheme is developed to realize knowledge dissemination in the population and a competitive substitution strategy is proposed to prevent local optima stagnation. The simulation results obtained by the proposed MSCA are compared with other meta-heuristic algorithms to show its effectiveness in reducing overall generation costs. The outcomes with and without DR suggest that the DR program can effectively reduce the total generation costs and improve the stability of the MG network.

  • 본 논문에서는 Nondominated sorting genetic algorithm-II(NSGA-II)를 이용한 Zipper를 가진 역V형 중심가새골조의 다목적 최적내진설계기법을 제시한다. 부재의 단면성능을 설계변수로 사용하는 제시된 최적화기법은 내진설계를 위해 부재의 강도조건, 구조물의 층간변위조건, 부재의 변형조건 등을 만족시키면서 구조물의 물량과 구조물의 최대 층간변위율을 동시에 최소화하는 문제로 정식화된다. 구조물의 물량과 최대 층간변위율을 최소화하는 이유는 구조물의 비용과 성능을 각각 최적화하기 위해서 이다. 선형 정적해석을 통해 구조물의 강도 및 층간변위 제약 조건을 검토하며, 비선형 정적해석을 통해 구조물의 변형 조건 및 내진성능을 평가한다. 제안된 기법을 검증하기 위해 3층과 6층 Zipper를 가진 역V형 중심가새골조 예제를 사용한다. 이를 통해 얻은 설계안을 초기 설계안과 비교분석하여 제안된 기법의 적용성을 확인한다.

중수로(CANDU)용 고준위폐기물 처분용기의 구조적 안전성 평가 보완 해석 (A Complementary Analysis for the Structural Safety Evaluation of the Spent Nuclear Fuel Disposal Canister for the Canadian Deuterium and Uranium Reactor)

  • 본 논문에서는 중수로(CANDU Reactor)에서 배출되는 고준위폐기물을 지하 500m의 화강암 암반의 처분장에 장기간(약 10,000년 동안) 처분하기 위하여 여러 구조적 안전성 평가 수행을 통하여 개발된 처분용기에 대하여 구조적 안전성 평가 보완 해석을 수행하였다. 기존에 설계된 중수로용 처분용기 모델은 내부에 33개의 고준위 폐기물 다발을 직경 122cm의 원통형 처분용기가 지탱하는 구조물로 구조적 안전성은 문제가 없으나 너무 무거운 단점이 지적되었다. 따라서 구조적 안전성을 유지하면서 좀 더 경량화 된 처분용기모델을 개발하는 것이 요구된다. 중수로 처분용기모델을 경량화하는 방법에는 두 가지가 있는데, 첫째는 외력조건 및 안전계수 등에 대한 조건을 완화하는 방법이고, 둘째는 중수로 처분용기내의 고준위폐기물다발의 개수를 줄여 구조물 단면 형상을 최적화시키는 방법이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 처분용기 개발 시 적용된 외력조건 등에 대한 조건들을 완화하여 설계 완성된 기존의 처분용기에 대하여 외력 조건 및 용기의 재원(직경 등) 들을 변화시키면서 구조해석을 재수행하고, 동시에 기존 33개의 고준위폐기물 다발의 개수를 줄여서 용기의 여러 재원에 대하여 구조해석을 수행하여 최적의 경량화된 단면형상을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 외력 조건에 따른 처분용기의 재원 등을 재산출하였다. 보완 해석결과 기존의 122cm의 처분용기의 직경을 줄여 경량화시킬 수 있음이 확인되었다.

Pharmacokinetic Compartment Modeling을 이용한 나선식 CT에서의 간암-간 대조 곡선의 Simulation (Simulation of lesion-to-liver contrast difference curves in Dynamic Hepatic CT with Pharmacokinetic Compartment Modeling)

  • 조영 증강제를 이용한 나선식 CT는 간 질환을 진단하는데 있어 중요한 역할을 하고있음에도 불구하고 진단의 효율을 최적화하는 프로토콜은 명확하게 알려져 있지 않다. 따라서 나선식 CT에서의 간암-간 대조 곡선을 모의 실험(simulation) 하여 다양한 요소들이 시간-조영 곡선에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 파악하고, 또한 CT 검사 전에 모의 실험을 하여 이론적으로 최적의 스캔을 할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 약동학(pharmacokinetics)에 기초한 compartment model을 구성하였다. 간암, 간, 대동맥 및 간문맥 등을 각 구획(compartment)으로 설정하여 각 구획에서의 미분방정식을 얻은 후 적분하여 Hounsfield unfit 값을 조영제 주입 후 시간의 함수로 얻었으며 각 구획의 시간-조영 곡선을 출력하였다. 구현한 프로그램에서는 간암의 크기 및 종양 혈관의 분포 등과 같은 간암의 성질, 간경화의 정도에 따른 간 혈관 공급의 양상 및 조영제의 부피, 농도, 주입 속도 등의 조영제 주입 방법, 환자의 몸무게, 키 등의 환자의 신체 계수, 그리고 심박출량 등의 환자의 혈역학적 계수 등을 입력 받아 간암을 비롯한 각 구획의 시간-조영 곡선 및 간-간암 대조 곡선을 출력할 수 있도록 하였다. 모델링을 통해 얻은 조영 증강 곡선은 같은 환경하에서 얻은 24명의 환자 데이터와 비교하여 유사한 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 조영 증강제 주입 방법의 변화가 간암-간 대조 곡선에 미치는 영향을 비교할 수 있었다.

어류 중 4계열 잔류 항생물질 검출을 위한 Lateral Flow Immunoassay Kit 개발 (A Lateral Flow Immunoassay Kit for Detecting Residues of Four Groups of Antibiotics in Farmed Fish)

  • A lateral flow immunoassay kit based on antigen-antibody interactions was developed to detect residues of beta-lactams, quinolones, tetracyclines, and sulfonamides in farmed fish. Group-specific antibodies showing cross-reactivity with other antibiotics in the same group were produced in rabbits. The rabbits were immunized eight times to obtain the maximum titers. Antibodies were extracted from the antisera collected from the immunized rabbits and produced group-specific reactions with antibiotics from the four groups. A kit was prepared that optimize conditions for the antigen-antibody reaction, using colloidal gold conjugated antibodies, and was designed to detect the four groups of antibiotics simultaneously. The kit enabled the detection of antibiotics in the four groups at below maximum residue limits (MRLs), which were $200{\mu}g/kg$ for tetracyclines, $100{\mu}g/kg$ for sulfonamides, $50{\mu}g/kg$ for beta-lactams, and $100{\mu}g/kg$ for quinolones. The cross-reactivity of the antibodies ranged from 10-80% for the sulfonamides, 20-100% for tetracyclines, 38-100% for quinolones, and 20-100% for the beta-lactams, confirming that the antibodies were group specific. The test kit was used 30 times to examine spiked antibiotics at the limits of detection (LODs) and all produced positive results, indicating high sensitivity. The LODs for the assay ranged from 4-20 ng/mL for beta-lactams, 25-50 ng/mL for sulfonamides, 20-100 ng/mL for tetracyclines, and 30-80 ng/mL for quinolones, and there were no false negative reactions at above these LODs. In addition, all of the LODs of the developed kit were correlated with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) data. Our lateral flow immunoassay kit can simultaneously detect antibiotic residues from a large number of fish samples rapidly, strengthening the safety of domestic farmed and imported fish.
