General state of research in fundamentals and applied areas of tribology is analysed with taldng account of changes in structure of funding and other aspects of transfer from centmllzed state economy to market one under simultaneous effect of USSR disintegration to independent states. Belarus Tribology Society as a coordinating body is presented. Activities of the major centers of research in friction, wear and lubrication are shown. Recent advances in development of analytical and calculation methods, surface characterization, wear testing and standardization, condition monitoring and tribomaterials are considered.
Sphingolipid species are important second messengers due to their role in the mitogenesis, differentiation and apoptosis. We developed a new column liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in combination with multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) method for the rapid, simultaneous and quantitative determination of unambiguous detecting sphingolipids in cell culture of human cancer cells (HL-60). First, We will briefly introduce early science results of AGN observations with KVN and KaVA. KaVA is the combined array of the Korean VLBI network (KVN) and VLBI Exploration of Radio Astronomy (VERA). These include KaVA monitoring of M87, Sgr A* and a few bright blazars and KVN Search for circular polarized Blazars. Furthermore, we will present our future plan of monitoring observation of Sgr A* and M87 with KaVA and Low Radio Power AGN multi frequency polarization survey with KVN. Because of the largeness of their centralsuper-massive black holes, we select them as top-priority sources of our key science program (KSP). The main science goals of the KaVA KSP are (1) mapping the velocity field of the M87 jet and testing magnetically-driven-jet paradigm, and (2) obtaining tightest constraints on physical properties of radio emitting region in Sgr A. High sensitivity achieved through simultaneous multifrequency phase referencing technique of KVN will allow us to explore Low Radio Power AGN cores which build majority of AGNs and therefore are important for undestanding the evolution of AGNs and of their hosts.
This study was aimed at the detection of 40 semi-volatile organic base/neutral compounds from soil among 129 priority pollutants listed by EPA. Two extraction procedures, sonication extraction and Soxhlet extraction, were studied as a extraction and concentration method for priority pollutants in soil. Extracts were analyted by GC/MS-SIM(selected ion monitoring). The analytical methods were tested by standard compounds spiked into blank soil. Accuracy and precision of the methods were measured by calculation of mean recovery and mean relative standard deviation. And the method detection limits were estimated.

Multivariate Shewhart control charts are considered for the simultaneous monitoring the variance-covariance matrix when the joint distribution of process variables is multivariate normal. The performances of the multivariate Shewhart control charts based on control statistic proposed by Hotelling (1947) are evaluated in term of average run length (ARL) for 2 or 4 correlated variables, 2 or 4 samples at each sampling point. The performance is investigated in three cases, that is, the variances, covariances, and variances and covariances are changed respectively.

We investigate the properties of multivariate Shewart control charts with VSI procedure for monitoring simultaneous monitoring mean vector and covariance matrix in term of ANSW (average number of switches), probability of switch and ASI (average sampling interval), ATS (average time to signal). From examining the ANSW values, we know that it does not switch frequently. The VSI control charts are superior to the corresponding FSI control charts in terms of ATS. And, it can be also seen that the VSI procedures have substantially fewer switches for small or moderate shifts of the mean vector and variances.

Recently, virtual reality (VR) has been actively used in various fields such as education, healthcare, entertainment, and training by providing immersive experiences. To operate multiple VR content programs without assistants and improve training efficiency, remote control of VR content programs within HMDs is necessary. In this paper, we develop management app for remotely controlling and monitoring multiple HMDs. First, we develop a function for HMD devices to connect to the management app. Second, we develop a function for simultaneously controlling HMD devices. Finally, we develop a function for monitoring HMD devices. In order to verify the developed functions, we measured the simultaneous control time and monitoring time. The measurement results showed that control took an average of 0.15 seconds and monitoring took an average of 0.81 seconds.
An efficient method for the simultaneous determination of eleven phenolic endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) present in wastewater influent samples was described. The 11 phenolic EDCs including alkylphenols, chlorophenols, and bisphenol A were determined by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-selected ion monitoring (GC/MS-SIM) following two work-up methods for comparison; isobutoxycarbonyl (isoBOC) derivatization and tert-butyldimethylsilyl (TBDMS) derivatization. The wastewater influent samples containing the 11 EDCs were adjusted to pH 2 with $H_2SO_4$ and then cleaned up with n-hexane. Next, they were subjected to solid-phase extraction (SPE) with XAD-4 resin and subsequently converted to isoBOC or TBDMS derivatives for sensitivity analysis with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry-selected ion monitoring (GC/MSSIM). Following isoBOC derivatization and TBDMS derivatization, the recoveries were 86.6-105.2% and 97.6-142.7%, the limits of quantitation (LOQ) for the 11 phenolic EDCs for SIM was 0.001-0.050 ng/mL and 0.003-0.050 ng/mL, and the SIM responses were linear with the correlation coefficient varying by 0.9717-0.9995 and 0.9842-0.9980, respectively. When these methods were applied to five selected wastewater influent samples, for isoBOC derivatization and TBDMS derivatization the ranges of concentration detected were 0.2-99.6 ng/mL and 0.4-147.4 ng/mL, respectively.
This paper develops and analyzes a new multiple-hypothesis Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring (RAIM) algorithm as a candidate for future standard architecture. The proposed algorithm can handle simultaneous multiple failures as well as a single failure. It uses measurement residuals and satellite observation matrices of several consecutive epochs for Failure Detection and Exclusion (FDE). The proposed algorithm redueces the Minimum Detectable Bias (MDB) via the Relative RAIM (RRAIM) scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can detect and filter out multiple failures in tens of meters.

A cloud computing system can be characterized by the provision of resources in the form of services to third parties on a leased, usage-based basis, as well as the private infrastructures maintained and utilized by individual organizations. To attain the desired reliability and energy efficiency in a cloud data center, trade-offs need to be carried out between system performance and power consumption. Resolving these conflicting goals is often the major challenge encountered in the design of optimization strategies for cloud data centers. The work presented in this paper is directed towards the development of an Energy-efficient and Performance-aware Cloud System equipped with strategies for dynamic switching of optimization approach. Moreover, a platform is also provided for the deployment of a Wind Farm CMS (Condition Monitoring System) which allows ubiquitous access. Due to the geographically-dispersed nature of wind farms, the CMS can take advantage of the cloud's highly scalable architecture in order to keep a reliable and efficient operation capable of handling multiple simultaneous users and huge amount of monitoring data. Using the proposed cloud architecture, a Wind Farm CMS is deployed in a virtual platform to monitor and evaluate the aging conditions of the turbine's major components in concurrent, yet isolated working environments.
