  • This paper presents vibration control performance of active engine mount system installed with the magneto-rheological (MR) mount and the piezostack mount. The performance is evaluated via hardware-in-the-loop-simulation(HILS) method. As a first step, six degrees-of freedom dynamic model of an in-line four-cylinder engine which has three points mounting system is derived by considering the dynamic behaviors of MR mount and piezostack mount. As a second step, sliding mode controller(SMC) is synthesized to actively control the imposed vibration In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed active engine mount, vibration control performances are evaluated under various engine operating speeds (wide frequency range) using HILS method and presented in time and frequency domain.

  • This paper presents vibration control performance of a passenger vehicle installed with the mixed-mode type ER engine mounts. The performance is evaluated via hardware-in-the-loop-simulation(HILS) method. As a first step, a dynamic model of a vehicle featuring the ER engine mounts is formulated by taking into account the engine excitation forces. A new type of the fuzzy skyhook controller is then established in order to control both engine and body vibrations. This is accomplished by adopting a weighting parameter between two performance criteria which is to be determined from the fuzzy algorithm. Vertical displacement and acceleration of the engine mount obtained from the HILS method are provided in the frequency domain. In addition, vibration control performance between the conventional hydraulic engine mount and the proposed engine mount is compared in the time and frequency domains.

  • This paper presents a mixed-mode type ER(electro-rheological) engine mount, and its vibration control performance for a passenger vehicle is presented. The field-dependent yield stress of a transfo rmer oil-based ER fluid is empirically distilled in both shear and flow modes. This is then incorporated with the governing equation of motion of the proposed mixed-mode(shear mode plus flow mode) type engine mount. The damping force is analyzed with respect to the intensity of the electric field and design parameters such as electrode gap. Subsequently, the ER engine mount which is equivalent to the conventional hydraulic engine mount in terms of the damping level is designed and manufactured. Both computer simulation and experimental test are undertaken in order to evaluate vibration isolation performance. In addition, this performance is compared with that of the conventional hydraulic engine mount.

  • In the present work, vibration control performance of piezoactuator-based active mount system for unmanned aero vehicle(UAV) equipment is evaluated via hardware in the loop simulation(HILS). At first, the vibration level of UAV is measured and from this vibration data, the proper piezostack actuator is selected. Then, the dynamic model of active mount system including four active mounts and UAV camera equipment is derived. In order to evaluate vibration control performance, the HILS system is constructed. The proposed mount is prepared as hardware part and the other mounts are considered in software part. A sliding mode controller is designed and implemented to the HILS system. Effective vibration control results are presented in both time and frequency domains.

  • The Combat Computer Consoles installed in surface ships should endure harsh environment such as vibration from engine or propeller and shock from underwater explosion. Generally, commercial isolation mounts are selected and used for anti-vibration and anti-shock design. In this research, the environment of the Combat Computer Console was analyzed first. Selected proper mount was modeled and computer simulation was performed to emulate the environment test. The real environment test was conducted with a manufactured Combat Computer Console. The test results were same as the simulation and satisfied the performance requirements. The computer simulation proved to be a useful design tool to predict the performance before the final environment test.

  • The mount which is used in military airplane should be operated in various situations such as vibration, shock and temperature. The recent mounts cost a lot and take much time to replace when they broke down. That's why new mount was produced in domestic by reverse engineering and the product has been proved its performance through environment test regarding vibration and shock. According to simulation of dynamic characteristics on vibration and shock, the result turns out to be similar to the result of the environmental test with an error of within 10 percent. As a result this research, a draft of the military aviation mount designing program is arranged.

  • This study is proposed a new hybrid mount having a moving-magnet type electromagnetic actuator to reduce the vibration transmitted from naval shipboard equipment to the structure of the ship's hull. Optimal design specifications are determined through experimental analysis. The detailed design of the hybrid mount is determined through several design steps with electromagnetic numerical analysis using Maxwell Software(S/W). The hybrid mount that combines a rubber mount and an electromagnetic actuator has a fail-safe function for shock resistance. The mount is fabricated and tested using a universal testing machine to evaluate the design specifications. Finally, numerical simulation of the hybrid mount is performed to confirm control performance and applicability.

  • The engine mount of vehicle systems is role of support engine mass and isolate noise and vibration from engine disturbance forces. One of attractive candidates to achieve this goai is to utilize a semi-active ER engine mount. By applying this, we can effectively control damping force and hence the noise and vibration by just controlling the intensity of electric field. However, control performance of the engine mount may be very sensitive to temperature variation during engine operation. In this work, we Investigate dynamic performances of ER engine mount with respect to the temperature variation. In order to undertake this, a flow-mode type of ER engine mount is designed and manufactured. Displacement transmissibility is experimentally and numerically evaluated as a function of the electric field. The ER engine mount is then incorporated with full-vehicle model in order to investigate vibration control performance. After formulating the governing equation of motion, a semi-active controller is designed. The controller is implemented through a hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS), and control responses such as acceleration level at various engine speeds are evaluated in the frequency and time domains.

  • In this work, a new active hybrid mount featuring piezostack actuator and rubber element is proposed, and its vibration control performance is evaluated by applying a robust frequency-shaped sliding mode controller. After describing the configuration of the proposed mount, vibration control performances are experimentally evaluated. A mount system with four active hybrid mounts is then constructed. To attenuate vibrations on the supported mass, a frequency-shaped sliding mode controller is designed and implemented to the system. Finally, control performances are obtained and presented in time and frequency domains via computer simulation.
