환기시스템의 성능평가를 위한 통합 시뮬레이션 Tool의 개발 (A Development of Coupled Simulation Tool to Evaluate Performance of Ventilation System)

  • To evaluate the performance of ventilation system properly, the correlations among the ventilation rate, indoor air-quality and cooling/heating load should be analysed. In this study, simulation tool to analyze the performance of ventilation system was developed. The simulation tool is based on the TRNSYS and some modules to calculate concentration of pollutants with the operation of ventilation system and to decide the signal of ventilation system were newly developed in this study. And these modules coupled with building load and heating/cooling simulation modules. To verify the validity of developed simulation tool, comparison study between simulation and field study were accomplished. As results, the simulation tool developed in this study can be used to predict the performance of ventilation system with accuracy.

  • In this study, a simulation tool is developed in order to investigate non steadystate cornering performance of 4WD/4WS vehicles. The 4WD/4WS vehicles are modeled as a 8-th order dynamic system which includes complex non-linear vehicle dynamics and tire models. The vehicle models are constructed into a modulated simulation tool and are utilized for analyzing cornering performance such as combined braking and steering, cornering on the icy read and $\mu$-split braking, The whole analysis is done with the simulation tool which consists of a number of subsystems and offers graphic environment. Simulation results show that this tool is useful and cost-effective in the dynamic analysis of the combustion-engine vehicles as well as electrically driven vehicles.

  • A power-plant simulation tool has been developed for training the plant operators and testing a plant control system. The simulation tool is composed of a graphic editor, a component model builder and a system simulation solver. Such new programing techniques as object-oriented modeling and GUI(Graphical User Interface) are employed in developing the simulation tool. The graphic editor is based on the OpenGL library for effective implementation of GUI while the component model builder is based on object-oriented programming for efficient generalization of component models. The developed tool has been verified through the simulation of a real power plant.

  • 프로그래밍 교육에서 로봇의 활용은 학생의 흥미와 학습의 동기를 유발시키지만, 로봇에 대한 구조적인 이해와 함께 로봇 프로그램의 내부적인 이해를 동시 요구한다. 따라서 문제가 발생하면 학생이 무엇에 의한 오류인지 파악하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 로봇 프로그래밍 교육에서 시뮬레이션 도구의 활용 가능성을 확인하는 것이다. 교육 가능성을 분석하기 위해 초등학생을 대상으로 하는 로봇 프로그래밍 교육에 시뮬레이션 도구와 비 시뮬레이션 도구를 적용하고, 사용성 평가와 인식 설문을 통해 시뮬레이션 도구의 교육가능성을 분석하였다. 적용 결과, 시뮬레이션 도구의 사용성은 기존의 비 시뮬레이션 도구와 차이가 없었다. 시뮬레이션 도구는 프로그래밍의 결과를 미리 확인할 수 있고 오류를 쉽게 파악하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다는 긍정적인 측면이 있었다. 본 연구는 초등 로봇 프로그래밍 교육에서 시뮬레이션 도구의 활용 가능성을 확인했다는데 의의를 찾을 수 있다.

  • Since real road experiments have many restrictions, a multi-vehicle traffic simulator can be an effective tool to develop and evaluate fully automated driving systems. This paper presents multi-vehicle environment simulation tool to develop and evaluate motorway automated driving systems. The proposed simulation tool consists of following two main parts: surrounding vehicle model and environment sensor model. The surrounding vehicle model is designed to quickly generate rational complex traffic situations of motorway. The environment sensor model depicts uncertainty of environment sensor. As a result, various traffic situations with uncertainty of environment sensor can be proposed by the multi-vehicle environment simulation tool. An application to automated driving system has been conducted. A lane changing algorithm is evaluated by performance indexes from the multi-vehicle environment simulation tool.

설계자 전용 HDD 진동/충격해석 프로그램 개발 (Development of HDD Vibration/Shock Simulation Tool for Design Engineers)

  • Recently, the shock resistance and dynamic characteristics of hard disk drives have become more important due to their highly increased storage density and miniaturization. In this study, we have developed an ANSYS/Mechanical/LS-DYNA based HDD vibration/shock simulation tool for design engineers. This simulation tool using ANSYS APDL can produce a parametric finite element modeling of HDD automatically and has GUI-based applications using the script program language Tcl/Tk. In the present tool, we adopt the reliable methodology of vibration/shock simulation, which is experimentally verified. It is expected that this simulation tool can make the repetitive computational efforts for the shock-proof design of HDD drastically reduced.

  • JLBS는 multi-server multi-queue 방식을 채택하고 있으며, 각 tool별로 할당된 license 수에 비례하여 system을 할당한다. 그러나 이러한 방식의 문제점은 특정 tool에만 job이 집중될 경우 비효율적이다. 즉 특정 system은 모두 사용되고 있고, queue에는 많은 job이 대기하고, 여타 tool에 해당하는 queue에는 대기하는 job이 없어서 system이 그냥 놀고 있는 현상이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 극복하기 위해 각 tool에 license수에 비례하여 할당되었던 system을 모든 tool들이 system을 공유할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 제안했다. 대신 system의 숫자는 줄이고, license의 숫자는 더 할당하는 방법으로, 기존의 방법보다 더 효율적으로 나타났다.

  • There are three main kinds of service standards for 3G(Third-Generation) wireless communication as WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA(Time Division-Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access). Compare with WCDMA and CDMA2000, TD-SCDMA system has distinguished technical characters. It is a TDD(Time Division Duplexing) based technology and deploys several advanced but in some respects complex technologies such as smart antenna, joint-detection and baton-handoff, etc. Therefore to analyze and design TD-SCDMA wireless network, it needs more efficient and systematic simulation tool. General simulation tool has so many analysis functions including path loss prediction, capacity and coverage analysis. For more suitable for TD-SCDMA, new additional technologies have to be implemented in simulation tool. Especially as the wireless network highly advancing focused on data service, it more needs to research and develop on the reliability of the simulation tool. In this paper, to give the concrete process and skill about how to implement TD-SCDMA simulation tool, we define the kinds of simulation tool and list basic analysis functions available for TD-SCDMA network design at first. And then we explain how to consider the effects of new technologies of TD-SCDMA and give the solutions about theses considerations.

통합절삭 시뮬레이션 시스템용 선삭표면조도 시뮬레이션 알고리즘의 설계 (Design of an Algorithm to Simulate Surface Roughness in a Turning for an Integrated Machining Simulation System)

  • The fundamental issues to evaluate machine tools performance through simulation pertain to the physical models of the machine tool itself and of process while the practical problems are related to the development of the modular software structure. It allows the composition of arbitrary machine/process models along with the development of programs to evaluate each state of machining process. Surface roughness is one of the fundamental factors to evaluate machining process and performance of machine tool, but it is not easy to evaluate surface roughness due to its tribological complexity. This paper presents an algorithm to calculate surface roughness considering cutting geometry, cutting parameters, and contact dynamics of cutting between tool and workpiece as well as tool wear in turning process. This proposed algorithm could be used in the designed virtual machining system. The system can be used to evaluate the surface integrity of a turned surface during the design and process planning phase for the design for manufacturability analysis of the concurrent engineering.

Development of a Time-Domain Simulation Tool for Offshore Wind Farms

  • A time-domain simulation tool to predict the dynamic power output of wind turbines in an offshore wind farm was developed in this study. A wind turbine model consisting of first or second order transfer functions of various wind turbine elements was combined with the Ainslie's eddy viscosity wake model to construct the simulation tool. The wind turbine model also includes an aerodynamic model that is a look up table of power and thrust coefficients with respect to the tip speed ratio and pitch angle of the wind turbine obtained by a commercial multi-body dynamics simulation tool. The wake model includes algorithms of superposition of multiple wakes and propagation based on Taylor's frozen turbulence assumption. Torque and pitch control algorithms were implemented in the simulation tool to perform max-Cp and power regulation control of the wind turbines. The simulation tool calculates wind speeds in the two-dimensional domain of the wind farm at the hub height of the wind turbines and yields power outputs from individual wind turbines. The NREL 5MW reference wind turbine was targeted as a wind turbine to obtain parameters for the simulation. To validate the simulation tool, a Danish offshore wind farm with 80 wind turbines was modelled and used to predict the power from the wind farm. A comparison of the prediction with the measured values available in literature showed that the results from the simulation program were fairly close to the measured results in literature except when the wind turbines are congruent with the wind direction.
