Purpose: The damage from earthquakes with a magnitude of 5.0 or greater Korea has increased in South Korea. When a earthquake occurs, internal facilities and electric equipment besides urban structures will be damaged. Thus, in this paper, an earthquake-induced seismic isolation device with double slip fiction surfaces which can reduce the damage of electric power equipment such as distribution panel and then the seismic performance was evaluated. Method: To evaluate the seismic performance shaking table test was performed, a seismic performance comparison was performed according to the presence or absence of a seismic isolation device. The attenuation effect of the seismic isolation device are analyzed by comparing response acceleration and displacement for different frequencies and acceleration levels. Result: As a result of the test, the acceleration amplification was up to 42% less than when the seismic isolation device was installed in comparison to the other case without the seismic device. This is believed that the amplification energy has reduced because the displacement between the double slip friction surfaces of the seismic device play a role in dissipating the seismic energy. Conclusion: The seismic device with double slip friction surfaces has a greater earthquake attenuation effect in strong earthquakes than in weak ones, so the greater the frequency, the better the earthquake attenuation effect. Therefore, it is judged that earthquake energy can be decreased by applying to electric equipment such as distribution panels.

As the membrane gas separation technology grows, various models were developed by numerous researchers to describe the separation process. In this work, the counter-current model was compared thoroughly with experimental data. Experimentally, hollow fiber membrane using CA module was prepared for the separation of biogas. The pure gas permeation properties of membrane module for methane, nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide were measured. The permeance of CO2 and CH4 were 25.82 GPU and 0.65 GPU, respectively. The high CO2/CH4 selectivity of 39.7 was obtained. the separation test for three different simulated mixed gases were carried out after pure gas test, and the gas concentration of the permeate at various stage-cut were measured from CA membrane module. Results showed that the experimental data agreed with the numerical simulation. A mathematical model has implemented in this study for the separation of biogas using a membrane module. The finite difference method (FDM) is applied to calculate the membrane biogas separation behaviors. Futhermore, the counter-current model can be considered as a convenient model for biogas separation process.

This study is a qualitative study to explore the experiences of nursing students' psychological nursing practice in-school. The subjects of this study were 62 students who were the 3rd grade nursing students at a University in Gangwon-do. The data were collected from August 3rd to August 20th, 2020. For data analysis, Colaizzi's qualitative analysis method was applied. Six categories were derived from data analysis: 1) Lingering affection for clinical practice in field. 2) Achievement through learning 3) Fear of nurse's role in future 4) Burden for many tasks 5) Feeling free of stress from clinical practice in field 6) Importance of cooperation with other departments. The positive aspects of in-school practice education, which from nursing students' evaluation, were immediate feedback, detailed explanations, and indirect experiences. Based on this study result, it is recommended to develop in-school nursing practice education program for gap-reducing with clinical practice. It would be consisted of various contents: simulation, online/non-face-to-face practice, face-to-face practice for indirect experience. In addition, these multi-aspect effort is needed more in psychological nursing practice education to reduce the gap with clinical practice such as therapeutic communication and hallucination interventions.
In the shipbuilding and marine industry, as a technology for reducing the weight of parts to reduce energy and improve operational efficiency of ships is required, a method of applying fibers-reinforced composites which is high-strength lightweight materials, as part materials can be considered. In this study, the possibility of applying fibers-reinforced composites to the pipe support clamps was evaluated to reduce the weight of LNGC. The fibers-reinforced composites were manufactured using carbon fibers and glass fibers as reinforcing fibers. Through the computer simulation program, the properties of the reinforcing materials and the matrix materials of the composites were inversely calculated, and the performance prediction was performed according to the change in the properties of each fiber lamination pattern. In addition, the structural analysis of the clamps according to the thickness of the composites was performed through the finite element analysis program. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that attention is needed in selecting the thickness when applying the fibers-reinforced composites of the clamp for weight reduction. It is considered that it will be easy to change the shape of the structure and change the structure for weight reduction in future supplementary design.

The lattice structure is attracting attention from industry because of its excellent strength and stiffness, ultra-lightweight, and energy absorption capability. Despite these advantages, widespread commercialization is limited by the difficult manufacturing processes for complex shapes. Additive manufacturing is attracting attention as an optimal technology for manufacturing lattice structures as a technology capable of fabricating complex geometric shapes. In this study, a unit cell was formed using a three-dimensional coordinate method. The relative density relational equation according to the boundary box size and strut radius of the unit cell was derived. Simple cubic (SC), body-centered cubic (BCC), and face-centered cubic (FCC) with a controlled relative density were designed using modeling software. The accuracy of the equations for calculating the relative density proposed in this study secured 98.3%, 98.6%, and 96.2% reliability in SC, BCC, and FCC, respectively. A simulation of the lattice structure revealed an increase in compressive yield load with increasing relative density under the same cell arrangement condition. The compressive yield load decreased in the order of SC, BCC, and FCC under the same arrangement conditions. Finally, structural optimization for the compressive load of a 20 mm × 20 mm × 20 mm structure was possible by configuring the SC unit cells in a 3 × 3 × 3 array.

In this study, a series of processes for evaluating the effective protection against barriers that should be equipped in institutions that perform reliability tests on high-risk ammunition, such as high-explosive ammunition, were introduced. The impact that high-explosive bombs can have on personnel includes damage to the eardrum and lungs caused by explosion overpressure and penetrating wounds that can be received by fragments generated simultaneously with the explosion. Therefore, a high-explosive with COMP B explosives as its contents were set up, and an explosion protection theory investigation to calculate the degree of damage, numerical calculations and simulations were performed to verify the protection power. A numerical calculation revealed the maximum explosion overpressure on the protective wall when the high-explosive exploded and the penetration force of the fragment against a 50 mm-thick protective wall to be 77.74 kPa and 41.34 mm, respectively. In the simulation verification using AUTODYN, the maximum explosion overpressures affecting the firewall and personnel were 56.68 kPa and 18.175 kPa, respectively, and the penetration of fragments was 35.56 mm. This figure is lower than the human damage limit, and it was judged that the protective power of the barrier would be effective.
A method aimed at improving the beam-wave interaction efficiency by changing the coupling slot configuration has been proposed in the study of extended interaction oscillators (EIOs). The dispersion characteristics, coupling coefficient and interaction impedance of the high-frequency structure based on different types of coupling slots have been investigated. Four types of coupled cavity structures with different layouts of the coupling slots have been compared to improve the beam-wave interaction efficiency, so as to analyze the beam-wave interaction and practical applications. In order to determine the improvement of the coupling slot to a coupled cavity circuit in an EIO, we designed four nine-gap EIOs based on the coupled cavity structure with different coupling slot configurations. With different operating frequencies and voltages takes into consideration, beam voltages from 27 to 33 kV have been simulated to achieve the best beam-wave interaction efficiency so that the EIOs are able to work in the $2{\pi}$ mode. The influence of the Rb and the ds on the output power is also taken into consideration. The Rb is the radius of the electron beam, and the ds is the width of the coupling slot. The simulation results indicate that a single-slot-type EIO has the best beam-wave interaction efficiency. Its maximum output power is 2.8 kW and the efficiency is 18% when the operating voltage is 31 kV and electric current is 0.5 A. The output powers of these four EIOs that were designed for comparison are not less than 1.7 kW. The improved coupling-slot configurations enables the extended interaction oscillator to meet the different engineering requirements better.
Dynamic treatment regimes (DTRs) are decision-making rules designed to provide personalized treatment to individuals in multi-stage randomized trials. Unlike classical methods, in which all individuals are prescribed the same type of treatment, DTRs prescribe patient-tailored treatments which take into account individual characteristics that may change over time. The Q-learning method, one of regression-based algorithms to figure out optimal treatment rules, becomes more popular as it can be easily implemented. However, the performance of the Q-learning algorithm heavily relies on the correct specification of the Q-function for response, especially in observational studies. In this article, we examine a number of double-robust weighted least-squares estimating methods for Q-learning in high-dimensional settings, where treatment models for propensity score and penalization for sparse estimation are also investigated. We further consider flexible ensemble machine learning methods for the treatment model to achieve double-robustness, so that optimal decision rule can be correctly estimated as long as at least one of the outcome model or treatment model is correct. Extensive simulation studies show that the proposed methods work well with practical sample sizes. The practical utility of the proposed methods is proven with real data example.

Non-intrusive load monitoring is a technology that can be used for predicting and classifying the type of appliances through real-time monitoring of user power consumption, and it has recently got interested as a means of energy-saving. In this paper, we propose a system for classifying appliances from user consumption data by combining GAF(Gramian angular field) technique that can be used for converting one-dimensional data to the two-dimensional matrix with convolutional neural networks. We use REDD(residential energy disaggregation dataset) that is the public appliances power data and confirm the classification accuracy of the GASF(Gramian angular summation field) and GADF(Gramian angular difference field). Simulation results show that both models showed 94% accuracy on appliances with binary-state(on/off) and that GASF showed 93.5% accuracy that is 3% higher than GADF on appliances with multi-state. In later studies, we plan to increase the dataset and optimize the model to improve accuracy and speed.
In urban areas, structures are installed deep underground in the lower part of the structure to utilize space. Therefore, a retaining wall is used to prevent earth pressure from the ground when constructing a structure. Due to the development of construction technology, retaining wall applied to excavation work are used to prevent danger such as falling rocks and landslides in temporary facilities when construction or retaining walls are installed. In general, the application of a retaining wall to a temporary facility during the embankment construction is the case of expanding an existing roads or railways. Therefore, it is necessary to study the retaining wall applied to the embankment construction such as the double-track site of the high-speed railway. In this study, two types of common one row H-pile retaining wall and two types of IER retaining wall were analyzed, and the stability of the retaining wall applied to the construction of double-track of the high-speed railway was analyzed. The earth retaining wall is a construction method that combines forced pile applied to the stabilization of the slope with the wall of the earth retaining wall. As a result of the analysis, the IER retaining wall had maximum lateral displacement of 19.0% compared to the type with H-plie installed only in the front while dynamic load was applied. In addition, the slower the speed of high-speed railway, the more displacement occurred, and the results show that more caution is needed when designing the ground in low-speed sections.
