A unified solution is presented for the buckling analysis of rectangular laminated composite plates with elastically restrained edges. The plate is subjected to biaxial in-plane compression, and the boundary conditions are simulated by employing uniform distribution of linear and rotational springs at all edges. The critical values of buckling loads and corresponding modes are calculated based on classical lamination theory and using the Ritz method. The deflection function is defined based on simple polynomials without any auxiliary function. The verifications of the current study are carried out with available combinations of classic boundary conditions in the literature. Through parametric study with a wide range of spring factors with some classical as well as some not classical boundary conditions, competency of the present model of boundary conditions is proved.
This paper presents a method for the optimal control of the distributed parameter systems (DPSs) by a hierarehical computational procedure. Approximate lumped parameter systems (LPSs) are derived by using the Galerkin method employing the Legendre polynomials as the basis functions. The DPSs however, are transformed into the large scale LPSs. And thus, the hierarchical control scheme is introduced to determine the optimal control inputs for the obtained LPSs. In addition, an approach to block pulse functions is applied to solve the optimal control problems of the obtained LPSs. The proposed method is simple and efficient in computation for the optimal control of DPSs.

A new technique is proposed for switch-level logic simulation for NMOS and CMOS logic circuits. For the simple inverter the rise or fall delay time is approximated by a product of polynomials of the input waveform slope, the output loading capacitance and the device configuration ratio, the polynomial coefficients being so determined as to best fit the SPICE simuladtion results for a given fabrication process. This approach can easily and accurately be extened to the case of multiple input transitions. The simulation results show that proposed method can predict the delay times within 5% error and with a speed up by a factor of three orders of magnitude for several circuits tested, as compared with the SPICE simulation.
In this paper, we proposed a multiplicative algorithm for two polynomials in existence coefficients over finite field GF(3$^{m}$ ). Using the proposed multiplicative algorithm, we constructed the multiplier of modular architecture with parallel in-output. The proposed multiplier is composed of (m+1)$^2$identical cells, each cell consists of single mod(3) additional gate and single mod(3) multiplicative gate. Proposed multiplier need single mod(3) multiplicative gate delay time and m mod(3) additional gate delay time not clock. Also, the proposed architecture is simple, regular and has the property of modularity, therefore well-suited for VLSI implementation.
In this paper, we introduce a new algebraic method to characterize rational PH plane curves. And using this method, we study the algebraic characterization of generic strongly regular rational plane PH curves expressed in the complex formalism which is introduced by R.T. Farouki. We prove that generic strongly semi-regular rational PH plane curves are completely characterized by solving a simple functional equation H(f, g) = $h^2$ where h is a complex polynomial and H is a bi-linear operator defined by H(f, g) = f'g - fg' for complex polynomials f,g.

This paper presents a new method for the optimal control of the distributed parameter systems by a decentralized computational procedure. Approximate lumped parameter models are derived by using the Galerkin method employing the Legendre polynomials as the basis functions. The distributed parameter systems, however, are transformed into the large scale lumped parameter models. And thus, the decentralized control scheme is introduced to determine the optimal control inputs for the obtained lumped parameter models. In addition, an approach to block pulse functions is applied to solve the optimal control problems of the obtained lumped parameter models. The proposed method is simple and efficient in computation for the optimal control of distributed paramter systems. Illustrative examples given to demonstrate the validity of the presently proposed method.

This paper deals with approximate integral solutions to the one-dimensional model describing the charging process of stratified thermal storage tanks. Temperature is assumed to be the form of Fermi-Dirac distribution function, which can be separated to two sets of cubic polynomials for each hot and cold side of thermal boundary layers. Proposed approximate integral solutions are compared to the previous works of the approximate analytic solutions and show reasonable agreement. The approach, however, has benefits in mathematical difficulties, complicated solution form and unstable convergence of series solution founded in the previous analytic solutions. Solutions for a semi-infinite region, which have simple closed form solutions, give close agreement to those for a finite region. Thermocline thickness is obtained in closed form and shows proportional behavior to the square root of time and inverse proportional behavior to the square root of flow rate.
High power amplifier (HPA), which is used in transmitter of wireless communication systems, usually works in near saturation point in order to achieve maximum efficiency. In this region, HPA can introduce undesirable nonlinear effects. In this paper, we present a polynomial modeling method for efficient techniques to compensate for nonlinear distortion introduced by nonlinear HPA. Proposed polynomial predistorter inverses actual amplifier. Namely, we derive polynomials of amplifiers from analytical method and the electrical parameters in the data sheet of an actual amplifier and then can derive polynomial predistorter by inversing them. It is an effective and a simple method to compensate nonlinear distortion. SSPA(Solid-state power amplifier) is considered. We also analyze the effects of predistortion on the SER performance of communication system with 16-QAM modulation format. The results have shown the efficiency of this model.

Brezing and Weng proposed a method to generate CM parameters of pairing-friendly elliptic curves using polynomial representations of a number field, and Freeman generalized the method for the case of abelian varieties. In this paper we derive explicit formulae to find a family of polynomials used in Brezing-Weng method especially in the case of abelian surfaces, and present some examples generated by the proposed method.
To the design of secret key, there are two types of basic approaches called the tame approach and the wild approach. In the tame approach we try to use only simple primitives such as linear feedback shift registers and to prove mathematical theorems about their cryptographic properties. In the wild approach we try to use crazy compositions of operations which mix a variety of domains in a nonlinear and nonalgebraic way. There are several papers which try to bridge this gap by considering semi-wild constructions. A T-function on n-bit words plays an important role in semi-wild constructions. In this paper we study the invertibility and the period of some T-functions. Especially we characterize some polynomials which has a single cycle property.
