A designer representing an avant guard fashion, Martin Margiela introduces experimental collections that seek ideational and ideal values, breaking away from limits of popular universality or usefulness of fashion. This study seeks to interpret Martin Margiela's design characteristics from the perspective of ambiguity, and thereby examine theoretical basis of meaning interpretation of his ambiguous and innovative design. In poetic meaning ambiguity is verbal nuance which gives room for alternative reaction the same piece of language. By way of study methods, concepts and characteristics of ambiguity were examined based on William Empson's seven types of ambiguity, and characteristics of Martin Margiela's fashion design were analyzed from the perspective of ambiguity. In the study, expression of ambiguity in Martin Margiela's fashion design was categorized into ambiguity of forms, that of meanings, and that of existence. Ambiguity of forms could be found indeterminate form of clothes and flat clothes. Ambiguity of meaning refers to ambiguity arising from the possibility of the meaning that fashion design is going to convey diverse interpretation. Ambiguity of meaning could be found up-cycling vintage clothes, semi-couture, signs of time, unfitting size, and symbolic letter. Ambiguity of existence could be found inanimate dummy, face shrouded with a veil and expression of multiple identity. In Martin Margiela's fashion design ambiguity gives rise to joy of something fresh, amusement felt about what deviates from normality and the possibility of fashion design's endless creations.

고가의 의류, 가방, 신발 등의 시장을 장악해온 명품 패션브랜드들이 최근 본격적으로 화장품 시장에 뛰어드는 행보를 보이고 있다. 본 연구는 명품 패션브랜드가 화장품브랜드로 확장을 진행하면서 자사의 브랜드 정체성을 화장품브랜드에 어떻게 표출하고 있는지, 화장품 패키지 디자인의 조형적 기호를 분석하고 준상징적 체계를 도출하는 시각적 정체성 분석 방식을 통해 살펴보고자 하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 최근 화장품브랜드로 명성이 높은 입생로랑과 아르마니 같은 패션 명품브랜드의 대표적 인기 제품군인 쿠션 팩트와 립틴트의 패키지 디자인의 시각기호학적 분석을 시도하였다. 연구분석 결과, 본 연구는 입생로랑과 아르마니 패키지의 조형적 요소가 표출하는 의미론적 자질들을 파악하였으며, 이 자질들이 입생로랑이 지향하는 '고전주의'적 정체성과 아르마니가 지향하는 '바로크'적 정체성의 추구를 드러내는 시각기호로서 활용되고 있음을 발견하였다. 이 연구결과를 토대로 본 연구는 입생로랑의 경우 패션브랜드로서의 브랜드 정체성을 화장품 브랜드의 시각적 정체성에 전이하지 못하고 있는 반면, 아르마니는 패션브랜드로서의 브랜드 정체성을 화장품 브랜드의 시각적 정체성에 효과적으로 전이하는 시각커뮤니케이션 전략을 활용하고 있음을 파악하였다. 이와 같은 두 브랜드의 서로 다른 결과를 통해 본 연구는 명품 패션브랜드들은 물론 국내 패션브랜드들도 화장품 시장으로 영역을 확장하는 과정에서 기존의 브랜드 정체성을 잘 파악하고, 이를 화장품 브랜드의 커뮤니케이션 전략에도 효과적으로 활용하고 있는지를 검토해봐야 할 필요가 있음을 제시하였다.

조선조(1392∼1910)의 궁궐·사원·상류민가의 담과 굴뚝에는 장식 문양이 다채로운 조형을 이루고 있다. 본 연구는 도자벽제작에 관한 환경디자인 연구의 일환으로서, 전(塼)과 와편(瓦片)으로 만들어진 조선조 담과 굴뚝의 전통적인 장식문양의 유형화를 시도하여 그 조형의 특성을 고찰한 것이다. 전국에 걸쳐 현지조사에 의해 수집된 685점의 문양 18종을 유형별, 대상별, 건축종별, 구성재료별, 장식기법별의 5가지로 유형화하여 상호 조형의 관련성을 검토했다. 그 결과 조선조의 담과 굴뚝에 나타나는 장식문양은 유형마다 명확한 조형의 차이와 공통성이 나타나고 있음을 알았다 또, 이들 문양의 유형을 궁궐형·사원형·민가형으로 종합하여 보면 일부의 예외적인 것도 있지만, 각각의 유형은 독특한 조형적 규범을 갖고있음을 알게 되었다. 즉, 궁궐형의 담과 굴뚝은 궁궐전유(專有)의 붉은색과 회흑색의 전을 사용해서 정교한 길상(吉祥)과 벽사(벽邪)문양을 조형화하고, 사원형과 민가형에서는 구조보강을 겸하여 와편을 겹쳐 쌓은 문양을 수평으로 연속시켜 조형화 한 것이 담과 굴뚝의 기본적인 장식이라는 것을 알 수 있었다.

우리의 전통문화 유산에서 새롭게 디자인 모티브를 발굴하고 시각적으로 상징화하는 연구는 과거의 것과 현대의 것을 융합시키므로써 형태와 미학의 조화 속에 새로운 한국적 디자인을 창조하는 일이며, 미래의 가치를 찾는 작업이고, 새로운 전통 문화를 만드는 일이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 우리 전통상징문양과 12지신 캐릭터에서 디자인 모티브를 발굴하고, 전통과 현대의 이미지를 접목하여 참신하고 세련된 감각과 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 캐릭터에 대한 표현연구를 통해 독특한 한국적 캐릭터를 개발하여 이를 현대 디자인에 다양하고 실질적인 활용방안을 제시하고자 했다. 이는 전통상징문양의 시각적인 효과와 캐릭터 개발만이 아닌, 우리만의 고유한 문화요소로 정체성과 독창성을 표현하여 외래문화 속에서 우리의 한국적 아이덴티티(Identity)를 찾고 한국적 디자인으로 미래의 세계시장에서 새로운 국가경쟁력을 갖기 위함이 그 목적이다.

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to examine types of music (relax music or preferred music that patients have chosen) can effects on anxiety, blood pressure and pulse, and whether there are differences depending on the kinds of music in order to reduce anxiety of surgical patients using spinal anesthesia. Methods: This research's design is quasi-experimental design and non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest experimental design conducted on 60 surgical patients(experimental group 1=relax music therapy group, experimental group 2=preferred music therapy group, and group 3=control group) using spinal anesthesia. The Variables were trait anxiety, state anxiety, blood pressure, and pulse. Results: 1) In the state anxiety, there was a significant difference among the experimental groups 1, group 2 and the control group. 2) There was a significant difference in systolic blood pressure among the experimental group 1, group 2, and the control group. 3) In pulse, no significant difference among the experimental group 1, group 2 and the control group was detected. Conclusion: Regardless of the types of music, music therapy is thought to be effective nursing mediation to mitigate the state anxiety of surgical patients undergoing spinal anesthesia.

One of the clearest reactions against Modern architecture, and its planning ideology of comprechensive development, was the neo-Regional movement which arose at more or less the same time in serval countries. In the mid-fifties architects in Mexico started to design architectures which mixed vermacular and Modern methodology to recall traditional buildings. This popular alternative to Modernism had caught on in Mexico by the recent to become the accepted approach for the most regional building built by the Mexican architects. The regional architecture provided the continual activity, safety and economy of traditional life which was lacking in so many Modern building, while the these ages provided a cultural continuity. Anonymity of craftsmanship, but personalization of each building; enclosed wall of strong color, wide inward opening, but flat roof; emotional layouts and poetic outdoor water space, but variable massing; as it the buildings had been constructed over several years-these were the contradictory signs of neo-Regionalism. The Regional architecture has direct reference to human inhabitation and use, and it embraces mystery, poetic sense, a quality we are losing in Modern life. There is a freedom from rules, which shows up especially in an insouciant use of color, just for fuv.

Sign system currently used for traditional heritage villages in Korea does not have any well-defined concept and method so that somewhat improper signs can be developed like for general urban or tourism area. In this paper, we present a new method or guideline of sign system based on DPD(disaster prevention design) concept for our traditional heritage villages. We can enhance both safety of residents and satisfaction of visitors throughout this guideline. According to our investigations on the heritage villages, sign systems in Korea are mainly developed for tourism, on the other hand, sign development in Japan mainly focuses on prevention or protection against big disasters like earthquakes. Considering residents and their safety, we can submit a proper guideline to develop sign system for our traditional heritage villages based on the concept of DPD which can be applied to each space. Asan 'Oeam Village' and Beppu 'Onsen Village' are used as application sites compared between Korea and Japan.

In this paper we present IoT compliant HD Digital Signage Controller design using Raspberry Pi. Nowadays, the digital signage system have gained increasing popularity and rapidly growing communications medium that offers a wide range of exciting ways with customers, enhance brand awareness, increase sales and margin uplift by replacing the traditional static signage system. This paper presents a cost-effective IoT based HD Digital Signage Controller (DSC) using R-Pi computer that can use various kinds of displays in order to make the system as efficient and affordable as possible to provide advertisement or other relevant information to people in public areas. The system is designed in such way the information about surrounding related place is taken through sensors and directly uploaded to the internet, and thus can be accessed anytime and displayed on screens by using Raspberry Pi that serves as controller in the system. The design and implementation of the system developed by using python programming language and its hardware consists of sensors, Arduino, Raspberry Pi 3 model B board and the displays. The main targets of this study are build a cost effective Digital Signage system as well as broadcasting information at display contents in public areas and control those digital signs.

Telemedicine은 의료진과 환자간의 정보교환을 제공하기 위한 일반적인 기술로 사용되어지고 있다. 더욱이 환자기록측면에서 의료진은 telemedicine applications을 통하여 생체신호와 다양한 환자데이터를 획득할 수 있다. 또한 최근의 RF기술의 발전과 무선통신기술은 Ubiquitous 네트워크의 발전을 가능하게 한다. 원격 모니터링 시스템은 휴대 인터넷기술을 이용하여 Mobile PDA를 이용하여 구현되어지는 대표적인 휴대인터넷기술의 적용분야이다. 본 연구는 임베디드 컴퓨터(SBC)를 기반으로 생체 정보를 모니터링하기 위한 무선 Telemedicine PDA Prototype을 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 휴대 인터넷기술을 이용하여 만성 질환 환자나 긴급한 상황에 매우 효과적으로 사용될 수 있으며, 노령화사회에 의료비용 유지에 효과적일 것이다.

Contemporary hotels adopt distinctive designs in order to symbolize themes of various spaces they consist of. This phenomenon shows that the importance of spiritual values reflected through themes of spaces is emphasized as much as those of basic functions and structures of hotels. Above all, a variety of expression methods pervading throughout spaces of guest rooms consist of thematic spaces, visualization of emotions, as well as mixture of artistic genres, ones that are originated from unconsciousness of symbolic theory of C.G. Jung and widely perceived as variations of archetype. Meanings of symbolic expressions derived from the analysis of various hotels can be defined by attributes of local cultures as well as propensities of mythicism, which feature local pride enlightened by natural environments, the spirit of the times, historical events and other transcendental and fantastic topics. These symbolic expressions are metaphysical forms that are made unconsciously and such symbols are far beyond mere historical and cultural signs which require us profound and mature methods to approach. It is pleasing to know that we are living in the modern society in which progresses are being made to better understand minds and metal states of human beings. Given such a circumstantial advantage, researches on meanings of symbolic expressions should not be limited to only those of hotel designs, but also those of religious architectures and museums in which spiritual values are emphasized throughout designs of the spaces they consist of.
