  • In the paper, we propose a new Signed LMS(Least Mean Square) algorithm for ICS(Interference Cancellation System). The proposed Signed LMS algorithm improved performances by adjusting step size values. At the convergence of 1000 iteration state, the MSE(Mean Square Error) performance of the proposed Signed LMS algorithm with step size of 0.067 is about 3 ~ 18 dB better than the conventional LMS, CMA algorithm. And the proposed Signed LMS algorithm requires 500 ~ 4000 less iterations than the and LMS and CMA algorithms at MSE of -25dB.

  • In the paper, we propose a new CSS(Complex Signed-Signed) CMA(Constant Modulus Algorithm) algorithm for ICS(Interference Cancellation System). When the repeater get the feedback signal, the CSS CMA algorithm is proposed at the ICS repeater using DSP(Digital Signal Processing) for the removal of interfering signals from the feedback paths. The proposed CSS CMA algorithm improved performances and hardware complexity by adjusting step size values. the steady state MSE(Mean Square Error) performance of the proposed CSS CMA algorithm with step size of 0.00043 is about 4dB better than the conventional CMA algorithm. And the proposed Complex Signed Signed CMA algorithm requires 1950 ~ 2150 less iterations than the LMS(Least Mean Square) and Signed LMS(Normalized Least Mean Square) algorithms at MSE of -25dB.

  • This paper presents the convergence time, SER(Symbol Error Rate), MSE(Mean Square Error), hardware complexity and step-size(${\mu}$) about various LMS(Least Mean Square) algorithms in FS-DFE(Fractionally Spaced-Decision Feedback Equalize) for Cable Modem based on MCNS(Multimedia Cable Network System) DOCSIS(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) v1.0/v1.1 standards. We designed and simulated using ${SPW}^{TM}$ and synthesized using STD90 library through ${SYNOPSYS}^{TM}$. And also, we adopted the time-multiplexed multiplication and tap shared architecture in order to achieve the low hardware complexity. Simulation results show that DS-LMS algorithms[1][3] is the optimum solution about performace and hardware size. in high order QAM applications. Finally, we achieved area saving about 58% using DS-LMS algorithm compare with conventional equalizer architecture.

  • In this paper, we study the signed-DLMS adaptive algorithm of wireless repeater for solving shadow region due to propagation between base station and mobile station. The the signed-DLMS algorithm reduces interference signals from multipath and solves the oscillation problem of repeater by estimation and cancellation. To efficiently reject interference signal, the signed-DLMS adaptive algorithm is applied. The computational complexities of the signed-DLMS are reduced verse standard LMS algorithm. Wireless ICS repeater based on signed-DLMS reduces the cost and is able to increase channel capacities.

  • An Interference Cancellation Wireless Repeater transmitts directly amplified the RF signal input to extend the coverage of the base station. Such a repeater inevitably suffers from the feedback interferences due to the environment and the adaptive Interference Cancelling System(ICS) is necessary. In this paper, the Variable Stepsize Complex Sign -Sign(VSCSS) LMS algorithm for ICS is presented. The algorithm can be implemented without multiplication/division arithmetic operation so that the required logic resources can be dramatically reduced in FPGA implementation. The performance of the proposed algorithm was analyzed in comparison with CSS-LMS algorithm and the learning curves obtained from simulation showed an excellent agreement with the theorical prediction. The simulation result with ICS in fading feedback channel environment showed the performance of the proposed algorithm is competible with NLMS algorithm.

  • In recent years, mobile communication service is used extensively as a larger service area for the maintenance of quality of service required by the expansion of service areas and As the ever-increasing role in relays, and the location is relatively easy to install and less constrained costs, operating cost savings in terms of ICS(Interference Cancellation System) repeaters are required. However, an adaptive algorithm that is applied when updating the filter due to the increase in volume of operations increase the complexity of hardware implementation is fraught with many difficulties. In this paper, if there is a path that feedback. ICS repeater utilizing baseband signal processing for the removal of interfering signals from the feedback operation, significantly reducing the amount of reducing hardware complexity Complex Singed Signed LMS adaption algorithm is proposed. Proposed algorithm for evaluating the performance of Static channel WCDMA signal environment for the ICS, the results of the simulation algorithm, convergence speed and better performance in therms of convergence errors that are required through the implementation of the operation greatly reduces the amount of hardware complexity able to reduce the effect was visible.

  • The signed regressor (SR) algorithm employs one bit quantization on the input regressor (or tap input) in such a way that the quantized input sequences become +1 or -1. The algorithm is computationally more efficient by nature than the popular least mean square (LMS) algorithm. The behavior of the SR algorithm unfortunately is heavily dependent on the characteristics of the input signal, and there are some Inputs for which the SR algorithm becomes unstable. It is known, however, that such a stability problem does not take place with the SR algorithm when the input signal is Gaussian, such as in the case of speech processing. In this paper, we explore a statistical analysis of the SR algorithm. Under the assumption that signals involved are zero-mean and Gaussian, and further employing the commonly used independence assumption, we derive a set of nonlinear evolution equations that characterizes the mean and mean-squared behavior of the SR algorithm. Experimental results that show very good agreement with our theoretical derivations are also presented.

  • Many problems with the offline class, which is the traditional education type in corporations or universities, were indicated and people hoped that e-learning, which is web-based instruction, would solve these problems. However, e-learning also has weak points in that it should be self-paced and media-based in many ways. Therefore, when considering the good and weak points of offline classes and e-learning, blended learning seems to be necessary. Until now, blended learning has usually been used in corporations, and there have been almost no studies on the effectiveness or management of blended learning in universities. Thus, in this study, I would like to design blended classes, manage them at the level of university classes, and verify the effectiveness of blended classes, by comparing academic achievement, student participation, and student satisfaction. The subject students who signed up for Computer & Technology at C University in 2005 were divided into three study groups: offline class, online class, and blended class. The offline class was taught using the traditional class teaching method. For the online class and the blended class, multimedia contents were developed and a different LMS was used. The results of 13 weeks of teaching are as follows. For the academic achievement in the offline, online and blended classes, there was no statistically significant difference (f=2.387, p=.096). But when comparing the average achievement, the average of the blended class was higher than that of the other classes, so that it can be said that the blended class has positive effects on academic achievement. Second, when comparing the learners' participation in the online class and the blended class, the total posts were 85 and 138 respectively, which shows a considerable difference. The hit counts for each post in the online class and the blended class are 10 and 20, respectively. Moreover, the login counts for subjects are 3 in the online class and 4 in the blended class. In the questionnaire for the students' academic satisfaction in the online class and the blended class, all of the 15 items showed higher satisfaction in the blended class. Considering all these results, if adequate media are properly combined, the blended class is better than either the pure online class or the pure offline class.
