  • The femtocell overlaid cellular network (FOCN) has been used to enhance the capacity of existing cellular systems. To obtain the desired system performance, both cross-tier interference and co-tier interference in an FOCN need to be managed. This paper proposes an interference management scheme that adaptively constructs a femtocell cluster, which is a group of femtocell base stations that share the same frequency band. The performance evaluation shows that the proposed scheme can enhance the performance of the macrocell-tier and maintain a greater signal to interference-plus-noise ratio than the outage level can for about 99% of femtocell users.

  • In this paper, an interference analysis method with a site-specific path loss model for a wireless personal area network (WPAN) is proposed. The site-specific path loss model is based on geometrical optics and geometric probability to consider both site-specific radio propagation characteristics and a closed-form expression to obtain the mean interference from which the uniformly distributed multiple interferers are derived. Therefore, the proposed interference analysis method can achieve more computational simplicity than the Monte-Carlo (MC) simulation, which uses the ray-tracing (RT) technique. In addition, better accuracy than the conventional interference analysis model that uses stochastic method can also be achieved. To evaluate the proposed method, a signal to the interference-noise ratio with a mean interference concept for uniformly distributed interferers is calculated and compared in two simulation scenarios. As a result, the proposed method produces not only better matched results with the MC simulation using the RT technique than the conventional interference analysis model, but also simpler and faster calculation, which is due to the site-specific path loss model and closed-form expression for interference calculation.

  • In this paper, we propose a mitigation method to reduce the effect of pilot interference at the wireless repeater. This improves the signal to interference ratio (SIR), and enables increased cell capacity and better bits error rates (BER) performance in the WCDMA systems. Simulation studies have been carried out to verify the proposed approach and we obtained promising results.

  • The high-intensity focused ultrasound device intermittently operates abnormally due to communication signal interference between the devices during use due to the high frequency radiated during the skin treatment procedure. Communication interference between multi-frequency ultrasound devices can be reduced through CAN communication controller and transceiver design, firmware S/W program and CAN communication module development.

  • In this paper, we have analyzed the error performance of the optimum threshold detection(OTD) of 16 QAM signal in the Rician fading channel with and without the maximal ratio combining(MRC) diversity technique in the presence of cochannel Rayleigh interference. An also the error performance of OTD is compared to that of conventional threshold detection(CTD) in the Rician fading channel in the presence of cochannel Rayleigh interference. With the result of analysis, it is found that there exists a synergistic effect due to both MRC diversity and optimum threshold detection in the Rician fading channel in the presence of cochannel Rayleigh interference.

  • This paper discribes a effect of Radio signals in Noise and Interference for the Communication systems and Generation of diffusion Noise from the Solid state Devices, and in Jection it to the Radio Reciving systems for probability of Signal Detection. The error performance depends on level of the Noise spectral density by Random processes between average signal energy. This experimental result are given by the performance of the correlation receiver for detecting Completely known signals in additive white Gaussian Noise.

  • This paper presents real-time algorithm for an ultrasonic Local Positioning System(LPS). An ultrasonic LPS consists of 4 transmitters and n receivers. Each transmitter transmits an sequential ultrasonic signal to avoid interference of ultrasonic signal. This method is a noneffective application for a fast object. Because receiver detects four sequential transmissive ultrasonic signal and calculates a position. This paper proposes the method which 4 transmitters transmit simultaneous ultrasonic signal and each transmitter distinguished by frequencies and codes. And Auto-Correlation Function(ACF) method separates codes from an ultrasonic echo signal which is interference of each transmitter's code. If the receiver uses only ACF method, it is difficult to implement real time application for increased computation. This paper implements LPS using dual frequencies and ACF method. Using dual frequencies reduces codes length. The reduced codes length save computation in ACF. To prove this algorithm by experiment, high performance DSP(digital signal processor) used. The result shows the performance of the designed system is good enough positioning.

  • In this paper, we study the performance of eigencanceller which use a eigenvector and eigenvalue in order to update a weighter vector. Eigencanceller can suppress directional interferences and noise effectively while maintaining specified beam pattern constraints. The constraints and optimal weight vector of eigencanceller vary by using interference and noise or desired signal, interference signal and noise as array input signal. From the analysis results in the steady state, We show that weight vectors in each case are simplified the form of projection equation that belongs to desired subspace orthogonal to interference subspace and eigencanceller has the better performance than RLS method through mathematical analysis and simulation.

  • Advent of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) has provided potentials to a variety of construction applications. It is well appreciated that WSNs have advantages over traditional wired system, such as ease of installation and maintenance with increased cost savings and efficiencies. However, the obstruction of wireless signal from physical objects in the heterogeneous construction environment often brings challenges to WSN measurement system. This paper analyzed the obstruction characteristic of construction environment where construction materials, equipment, and built structures obstruct the wireless signal yielding negative effect of measurement system. By adopting evaluation criteria, such as packet reception rate, field experiments have been implemented to quantitatively identify the interference of wireless signal from penetration, reflection, and network traffic under the construction environment. The results show that reliable performance of wireless sensor in construction environment depends on the optimal separation distance between a receiver and a transmitter, obstruction types, obstruction thickness, and transmission interval. In addition, the methodology and experimental results of this paper could be used in the practical design of network topology when hundreds of sensor nodes form a mesh network in the large scale construction applications.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the interference statistics between the competiting wideband CDMA systems, and optimize the frequency coordination between Wideband-CDMA systems by the Monte-Carlo methodology. We develop the simulator to analyze the radio interference between CDMA systems. It can calculate or estimate the probability of interference from adjacent frequency band, which is also power controlled. We simulate the interference effects between two Wideband CDMA systems. We present the required carrier distance and zone for two operators to meet the required coverage efficiency and outage probability of Signal to interference plus noise ration (SINR).
