  • A small infrared image homing system is a tracking system that has an infrared image sensor that identifies a target through the day and night infrared image processing of the target on the ground and searches for and detects the target with respect to the main target. This paper describes the development of a board equipped with a high-speed CPU and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) to identify target through real-time image processing by acquiring target information through infrared image. We propose a CPU-FPGA combining architecture for CPU and FPGA selection and video signal processing, and also describe a controller design using FPGA to control infrared sensor.

  • This paper presents design and implementation of the speed controller for DC motor system using Embeded Target for TI C2000 DSP library in Matlab/Simulink is introduced. Speed controller are easily design and implemented by using the Matlab/Simulink program. Feedback of motor speed is processed through eZdsp F2812 AID converter using encoder and pulse meter as speed sensor. Real-time program of controller is drawn using Simulink and converted program code for speed control of P control, PID control and parameter estimation base adaptive control is downloaded into the TI eZdsp 2812 board. Experiments were carried out to examine validity of speed response for implemented controllers. And even if controlled plant becomes alteration studied controller design and implementation easily method.

  • The goal of this paper is to developed a DSP based power analyzing and control system by 3-Dimensional (3-D) space current co-ordinates. A developed system is made up of 486-PC and DSP (Digital Signal Processor) board, Active Power Filter, Non-linear thyristor load, and Power analyzing and control program for Windows. Power is analyzed using signal processing techniques based on the correlation between voltage and current waveforms. Since power analysis algorithm is performed by DSP, power analysis is achieved in real-time even under highly dynamic nonlinear loading conditions. Combining control algorithm with power analysis algorithm is performed by DSP, power analysis is achieved in real-time even under highly dynamic nonlinear loading conditions. Combining control algorithm with power analysis algorithm, flexibility of the proposed system which has both power analysis mode and control mode, is greatly enhanced. Non-active power generated while speed of induction motor is controlled by modulating firing angle of thyristor converter, is compensated by Active Power Filter for verifying a developed system. Power analysis results, before/after compensation, are numerically obtained and evaluated. From these results, various graphic screens for time/frequency/3-D current co-ordinate system are displayed on PC. By real-time analysis of power using a developed system, power quality is evaluated, and compared with that of conventional current co-ordinate system. (author). refs., figs. tabs.

  • In this paper, we developed new time information recording module of VSI (VLBI Standard Interface) format by analyzing the Mark5B recorder control and operation software with 1Gbps speed, which is able to record the weak signal of space radio source, through the Korean VLBI Network (KVN). The control and operation software of high-speed recorder consists of 2 kinds of software, which is that it can operate RAID control board by controlling large capacity HDD drive and the network control and operation. Especially, core software in high-speed recorder is able to output the results after performing and analyzing the input command. Through the analysis of control and operation software, new time information recording module, which is needed to process the observed data for correlation, is developed. New developed time information recording module can record the time information together after checking the interrupt of 1PPS(Pulse Per Second) input signal when the observed data will be recorded. To verify the normal operation of the developed time information recording module, we performed the real observation test and confirmed the effectiveness of developed software through analyzing the recorded observation data.

  • Recently, the performance of binaural hearing aids is rapidly improved with the technology advancement of wireless communication, digital signal processing, and integrated circuit design. However, the previous hearing aids developer platforms can't be applied to binaural hearing aids developing, because it has no consideration for wireless communication and binaural hearing control. Also, the previous developer platforms are not easy to use for the algorithm development, because programming languages are limited. In this paper, we designed and implemented the open platform board for binaural hearing aids developing. The designed board can be programmed by general programming language and can be used wireless communication module. In order to verify the designed open platform board, we used the volume control algorithm using two open platform board. As a result of experiment, we verified the performance of designed and implemented open platform board that was successfully operated the binaural hearing control and the wireless communication.

  • A new methodology is presented to diagnose faults in equipment plasma. This is accomplished by using neural networks as a pattern recognizer of radio frequency(rf) impedance match data. Using a realtime match monitor system, the match data were collected. The monitor system consisted mainly of a multifunction board and a signal flow diagram coded by Visual Designer. Plasma anomaly was effectively represented by electrical match positions. Twenty sets of fault-symptom patterns were experimentally simulated with experimental variations in process factors, which include rf source power, pressure, Ar and O$_2$ flow rates.   • 음성은 인간이 가진 가장 편리한 제어전송수단으로 이를 통한 제어는 인간에게 많은 편리함을 제공할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 다층구조 신경망(Multi-Layer Perceptron)을 이용하여 간단한 음성인식 명령처리시스템을 Matlab 상에서 구성해 보았다. 음성인식을 통한 제어의 목적을 위해 화자종속, 고립단어인식기를 목표로 설정하여 연구를 수행하였다. 음성의 시작점과 끝점을 검출하기 위해 단구간 에너지와 영교차율(ZCR)을 이용하였고 인식기의 특징파라미터로는 12차 LPC켑스트럼 계수를 사용하였다. 그리고 신경망의 출력값을 기동, 정지시에 활성화되도록 3개의 계층으로 하였고, 신경망의 뉴런의 개수를 각각 12, 12, 2으로 설정하였다. 먼저 기준음성패턴으로 학습시킨 후에 Matlab 환경하에 동작하는 dSPACE 실시간처리보드에 변환된 C프로그램을 다운로드하고, 음성을 입력하여 인식 후 dSPACE보드의 D/A컨버터의 출력단에 연결된 DC모터를 기동, 정지제어를 수행하였다. 실시간 음성인식 명령처리 시스템 구현을 통하여 원격제어와 같은 음성명령을 통한 제어가 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents the development of a collocated capacitance sensor and its application to the decentralized PID controller design for 4-axis magnetic bearing system. The main feature of the sensor is that it is made of a compact printed circuit board (PCB) so that it can be built in to the actuator coil of the magnetic bearing unit. The signal processing unit has been also developed. Then, decentralized PED controller is designed using simplified rotor system model. Finally, the experimental results on the performance of the collocated sensor based decentralized PID controller for a magnetic bearing rotor system is presented.

  • Active control is regarded as one of the most efficient and economic countermeasures to reduce excessive vibration of ship superstructure. However, it is difficult to find its practical application in real ships in spite that many studies on such systems have been done. In this study, for the practical use of an active control system to reduce ship superstructure vibration, we have developed an active vibration compensator consisting of a mechanical actuator having compact size and expected lifetime over 20 years, its control panel including exclusive signal processing and computing board, sensors to detect phase and vibration, and its operation software providing various user-interface functions. From the performance verification test of the system at a 5,500 TEU container carrier, we have confirmed the system could reduce ship superstructure vibration of a harmonic component of main engine rotating frequency up to 0.1 mm/s.

  • In order to support ultrawide-band signal generation for low rate WPAN, several types of signal generation mechanisms are suggested such as Chaos, Impluse, and Chirp signals by the activity of IEEE 802.15.4a. The communication system applied chaos theory may have ultrawide-band characteristics with spread spectrum and immunity from multipath effect. In order to use the advantage of chaotic signal generation, we introduce the system implementation of communication and networking systems with the chaos UWB signal. This system may be composed of mainly three parts in hardware architecture : RF transmission with chaotic signal generation, signal receiver using amplifiers and filters, and 8051 & FPGA unit. The most difficult part is to implement the chaotic signal generator and build transceiver with it. The implementation of the system is devidced into two parts i.e. RF blocks and digital blocks with amplifiers, filters, ADC, 8051 processor, and FPGA. In this paper, we introduce the system block diagram for chaotic communications. Mainly the RF block is important for the system to have good performance based on the chaotic signal generator. And the main control board functions for controlling RF blocks, processing Tx and Rx data, and networking in MAC layer.
