무선통신 환경에서의 개별차량 정보를 이용한 교차로 신호제어 알고리즘 개발 (Development of a Signal Control Algorithm Using an Individual Vehicle's Data in a Wireless Environment)

  • 최근 정보통신의 발달로 인해 유비쿼터스 환경이 급속히 확산됨에 따라 교통운영 및 관리분야에서도 무선통신기술을 응용한 진보가 이루어지고 있고, 그에 따른 신호제어전략을 개발하여 신호교차로의 운영 효율성과 안전성을 획기적으로 향상시킬 필요성이 있다. 본 논문은 차량 내 단말기와 신호제어시스템과의 무선통신 및 네트워크 기술, 감응식 신호제어기술을 응용하여 최종 목표인 무선통신 환경에서의 개별차량 감응식 신호제어 알고리즘을 개발하였다. 신호제어를 위한 개별차량의 정보수집환경을 정의하였고, 개발된 제어전략을 평가하기 위해 PARAMICS의 API를 통하여 V2I와 V2V를 이용한 정보수집환경을 구현하여 새로운 개별차량 감응식 신호제어 알고리즘에 대한 분석을 수행하였다. 시뮬레이션 분석결과, WSN 신호제어가 저포화와 근포화의 조건에서 모두 정주기식제어와 완전감응식제어에 비해 최대 64%의 지체감소 효과를 나타내는 것으로 분석되었다.

Design of Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Controller based on Fuzzy Basis Function Expansion for UFV Depth Control

  • Generally, the underwater flight vehicle (UFV) depth control system operates with the following problems: it is a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system because the UFV contains both pitch and depth angle variables as well as multiple control planes, it requires robustness because of the possibility that it may encounter uncertainties such as parameter variations and disturbances, it requires a continuous control input because the system that has reduced power consumption and acoustic noise is more practical, and further, it has the speed dependency of controller parameters because the control forces of control planes depend on the operating speed. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller (AFSMC), which is based on the decomposition method using expert knowledge in the UFV depth control and utilizes a fuzzy basis function expansion (FBFE) and a proportional integral augmented sliding signal, is proposed. To verify the performance of the AFSMC, UFV depth control is performed. Simulation results show that the AFSMC solves all problems experienced in the UFV depth control system online.

  • The excitation control system of an emergency diesel generator is classified as a kind of safety-related system. Compared with other control systems in a power plant, this system is required to be more reliable and have better performance. In this paper, the digital multi-redundant excitation system for a diesel generator was proposed. The signal processing system of the proposed system makes high speed signal processing and arithmetic in excitation control possible. The improved soft start algorithm and multiple PI parameters adaptation considering the diesel generator characteristics were implemented in the proposed system. The developed system was applied to a nuclear power plant successfully.

Design and implementation of optical identification system using visible light and infrared

  • In this study, an optical identification system was developed, wherein visible light is used to transmit the interrogating signal, and infrared is used to send the response signal. In the reader, visible light from a light emitting diode (LED) array was modulated via modified pulse width modulation for flicker-free illumination and dimming control. Moreover, the duty factor of the dimming control time was employed to control the illumination from the LED. In the transponder, the spike signal in the output of the high-pass filter was utilized to recover the interrogating signal while preventing interference from the 120-Hz noise from adjacent lighting lamps. The illumination was controlled in 26-86% range of the constant wave LED illumination by changing the duty factor from 20% to 90%. This configuration is advantageous for the construction of optical identification systems for automatic security check and car fare calculation at toll gates or parking facilities.

FxLMS를 이용한 단일 센서기반 능동 반향음 제어 시스템 (A single sensor based active reflection control system using FxLMS algorithm)

  • 본 논문에서는 FxLMS(Filtered-x Least Mean Square) 알고리즘을 이용한 단일 센서 기반의 능동 반향음 제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 알고리즘은 먼저 단일 센서 입력 신호로부터 입사음과 반향음을 분리하고, 분리된 신호들을 사용하여 반향음과 반대 위상을 갖는 제어 신호를 생성한다. 제어 신호는 센서 위치에서 반향음과 중첩되어 반향음의 음압을 감소시킨다. 적절한 신호 분리를 위해 반향 음향 경로와 제어 음향 경로가 필요하며 이는 swept sine 신호를 이용해 측정한 음향 응답으로부터 사전에 구할 수 있다. 효용성을 검증하기 위해 DSP(Digital Signal Processing) 보드를 사용하여 제안된 알고리즘을 실시간으로 구현하였으며, 공기 중 음향 덕트 환경에서 1 kHz 버스트 신호에 대해 반향음이 11.6 dB 감소함을 확인 하였다.

Antenna Control System Using Step Tracking Algorithm with H$_{\infty}$ Controller

  • The outdoor antenna servo system is subject to has significant torque disturbances from wind pressures and gusts on the antenna structures, as well as bearing and aerodynamic frictions. This control system should provide a sharp directivity in spite of the environmental disturbances and internal uncertainties. Therefore, the implementation of a real-time controller is necessary for the precise generation of the reference signal and robust tracking performance. In this paper, the discrete-time controller for the quick tracking of a target communication satellite is designed by applying the sampled-data $H_{\infty}$ control theory along with the reference signal generated by an improved conventional step-tracking algorithm. The sampled-data $H_{\infty}$controller demonstrates superior robustness for the longer sampling period when compared with a simple PID controller.

  • The Wolmi Eunha-Rail in Incheon is connecting Wolmido and Incheon Station with an elevated monorail road supported by piers. This railroad system is characterized by driverless automatic operation and moving-block based control. The main technology applied to this signal-controlled system is CBTC (Communications-Based Train Control) which based on wireless communications. The CBTC system is simple in that composition so that can minimize field facilities and lowers costs of construction and maintenance. This CBTC system is emerging as a major signal-controlled system in the future metro market.

  • Railway signal system is responsible for the safety operation of railway and performs vital functions as safe space control, route control and etc. These functions prevent collision accidents between trains and derailment accidents of trains. However, these accidents are occurred by some causes. It is necessary to analysis hazards, hazard frequency and risk contribution. And railway signal system must make practical application of the analysis results. This paper includes analysis results of railway accident data by FTA(Fault Tree Analysis) and hazards. Railway signal system must consider these hazards. This paper used the railway accident data of RSSB(Railway Safety & Standard Board) of UK. We will use the FTA result to set up a draft of safety criteria of railway signal system.

영상처리를 이용한 야간 교통신호 제어시스템 (Control System of Traffic Signal by Image Processing at Night)

  • 최근 국민소득 증가로 개인 보유차량이 급격하게 증가하였다. 한정된 국토 내에서 급격한 차량 증가는 심각한 교통 혼잡을 야기 시켰고, 이러한 교통 혼잡으로 인해 도로 위에서 낭비되는 교통혼잡 비용은 매년 증가하는 추세이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 영상처리를 이용한 교통신호 제어시스템을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서는 교차로에 설치된 카메라를 이용하여 각 도로로 유입 유출되는 교통량을 동시에 측정하여 심각한 교통 정체가 일어나기 전에 이를 미연에 방지 할 수 있는 교통신호 제어시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 교통신호 제어시스템을 주간에 적용한 경우는 교통량을 정확하게 측정 할 수 있었으나, 야간 일반 카메라로 측정한 결과 72.8%, 야간에 적외선 카메라로 헤드 라이트를 고려해 실험한 결과 86.6%의 향상된 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.
