  • Experimental investigations were conducted to study the forced convection of fully-developed turbulent f)on· in horizontal equilateral duct fabricated with the same length and equivalent diameter, but different surface roughness Pitch ratio(P/e) of 4, 8 and 16 on the one side wall only The experiments were performed with the hydraulic diameter based Reynolds number ranged from 70.000 to 10,000 The entire bottom wall of the duct was heated uniformly and the other surfaces were thermally insulated. To understand the mechanisms of the heat transfer enhancement. measurements of the heat transfer were done to investigate the contributive factor of heat transfer promotion. namely the fin effect. And the results were compared with those of Previous investigations for similarly configured channels, at which they were roughened by regularly spaced transverse ribs in the rectangular and circular channels.

  • The discharge gap clearly is to order and to promote the improvement of processing feature of die-sinking electro discharge machining(EDM). If creation carbon, which generated by pyrolysis of EDM oil and processing pace power which is generated in between an electrode and a workpiece, are overproduced, they will lower the processing speed and roughness of the surface. Therefore, it is gone through the .flow analysis of EDM oil in order to improve the treatment of processing chips, which is an important problem by contriving a new flushing method. The condition of an electric discharge is not considered to be a progressing of processing. It is assumed that the flow of processing fluid is equal to the flow of processing chip, which is remaining in the discharge gap, and analyzing its correlation.

  • We investigated transmittance, surface characteristics, and resistivity according to bending of ITO(indium tin oxide) film with four other multi-barrier film. Transmission data of ITO film with four ITO films showed there was about large 90% transmission above 550nm wavelength at three multi-barrier structures. But, both-side hard coated structure showed relatively low 75% transmission above 550nm wavelength. And, surface images measured from SEM(scanning electron microscope) showed both-side hard coated structure have a tendency of more roughness. Also, resistivity change of four other multi-barrier film showed there was the lowest change at one-side hardcoated structure. Subsequently, with result of resistivity change according to position, we knew the resistivity change of the center increased rapidly than that of the edge.

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 구조 및 하중조건에 대하여 중차량의 주행에 의한 충격효과를 분석하였다. 중차량 주행시의 다주형 강판형교의 동적해석에서는 노면조도 및 차륜-바닥판 사이의 상호작용을 고려하였다. 진입로와 교량바닥판의 노면형상은 각 노면조도에 따라 지수 스펙트럴 밀도 함수를 사용하여 생성시켰으며, 교량바닥판과 차륜사이의 상관력을 좀더 합리적으로 반영하기 위해 개선된 후처리기법을 사용하여 보정하였다. 또한 교량진입부에서 발생할 수 있는 바닥판과 진입로사이의 단차조건도 분석하였다. 현행 도로교 표준 시방서에 준하여 설계된 다양한 교량들에 대하여 동적거동에 중요한 영향을 미치는 구조인자들(경간장, 주형간격 등)의 영향을 체계적으로 검토하였다. 다양한 주행속도에 따른 단일주행에 의한 기본적인 하중상태 뿐만 아니라 동일차선 및 인접차선을 주행하는 다수 차량의 하중조건도 검토하였다.

n-표면 거칠기가 형성된 AlGaInP 수직형 적색 발광다이오드의 광추출효율 증가 (Improved light extraction efficiency of vertical AlGaInP-based LEDs by n-AlGaInP surface roughening)

  • AlGaInP 기반 수직형 적색 LED (Light Emitting Diode)의 광추출효율을 증가시키기 위하여 화학적 etching 기술을 이용하여 n-AlGaInP 표면에 삼각꼴 모양의 거칠기를 형성하였다. Etching은 $H_3PO_4$계의 용액을 이용하여 화학적 etching을 진행 하였다. AlGaInP etching은 광추출효율의 증가와 밀접한 관련을 갖고 있으며 AFM (Atomic Force Microscope)을 이용하여 AlGaInP 표면을 분석하여 약 44 nm의 RMS (root-mean-square) 거칠기가 형성됨을 알 수 있었다. 광추출효율은 기존 수직형 적색 LED보다 거칠기가 형성된 수직형 적색 LED에서 41%의 높은 발광 효율을 보임으로써 고효율 수직형 적색 LED의 가능성을 보였다.

  • 본 연구는 복합레진의 표면 연마에 의한 표면 거칠기가 표면 색상과 투명도에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 알아보고자 시행하였다. Charisma (Heraeus Kulzer GmbH, Domagen, Germany)의 B1과 A3, Esthet-X (DENTSPLY Caulk, Milford, USA)의 B1과 B3 레진으로 거칠기에 따른 표면 색상을 평가하기위한 직경 8 mm, 두께 5 mm의 시편을 제작하고, Sof-Lex finishing & polishing system (3M, ESPE Dental Products, St. Paul, USA)의 C, M, F 및 SF 디스크로 시편의 한쪽 면을 연마하였으며, 연마 전 Mylar strip으로 압축된 면을 대조군으로 하였다 . 거칠기에 따른 투명도의 차이를 평가하기위한 두께 1 mm의 시편을 Charisma 의 A3로 제작하여, 한쪽 면을 600, 1000. 1500 및 2000번 사포로 연마하였다. 각 시편의 연마 전과 후, 연마면의 CIE $L^{*}a^{*}b^{*}$ 값과 1 mm 시편의 백색과 흑색 배경판 상에서의 Y값을 spectrophotometer 인 Spectrolino (GretagMacbeth, Regensdorf, Switzerland)를 사용해 측정 분석하였으며, 각 시편의 연마 전과 후의 평균 표면 조도 (Ra)값을 Surface Roughness Tester SJ-301 (Mytutoyo, Tokyo, Japan)로 측정했다. $L^{*}$값은 재료와 색상에 상관없이 가장 거친 Sof-lex C 디스크로 연마한 군에서 가장 높은 값을 보였으며 (p < 0.05), Esthet-X B3군을 제외한 모든 군에서 Ra값이 감소함에 따라 $L^{*}$값도 낮아졌다. $a^{*}$값은 표면 거칠기에 따라 특정한 변화양상을 보이지 않았으며, $b^{*}$값은 Esthet-X B1군을 제외한 모든 군에서 Sof-lex SF 디스크로 연마 시 가장 높은 값을 보였으며 (p < 0.05), Charisma B1과 Esthet-X B3군에서 Ra값과 비교적 높은 상관관계를 보였다. Contrast ratio 는 1000번과 1500번 사포로 연마한 군 간을 제외한 모든 군 간에 유의한 차이를 보였으며 (p < 0.05), 표면 거칠기가 감소함에 따라 contrast ratio도 감소하였다 (R2 = 0.801).

잣나무 소경재의 재질평가를 통한 실내장식용재 개발 (A Development of Interior Decoration Timber with Pinus koraiensis Small Diameter Logs)

  • Among the domestic softwoods, technical value of Pinus koraiensis small diameter logs which have comparatively low applicability was evaluated and sensitive characteristics and physical characteristics were investigated and analyzed for examining if it can be utilized as the interior decoration material. For the sensitive characteristics of Pinus koraiensis, wood figure, wood grain, wood color and odor were evaluated and for the physical characteristics, growth-ring width and latewood percentage, abrasion, density, shrinkage, swelling, absorption, roughness and hardness were evaluated. Then, the possibility to be developed as the interior decoration material was found. As the result of evaluating sensitive characteristics and physical characteristics of domestic Pinus koraiensis, wood figure, wood grain, color and scent clearly were judged to have excellent visual factor as the interior decoration material. And, physical characteristics were also judged to be excellent, so it is judged to be developed as the interior decoration material. Therefore, as the result of various forms of design pattern with domestic Pinus koraiensis small diameter logs, several patterns of interior decoration can be developed by characteristics of each side and colors of heartwood and sapwood. And, in the future, it can be applied to furniture design or interior decoration material for the proper use. Especially, it is considered to contribute to wood applying industry through the study on the quality of domestic small diameter logs which have low applicability.

초정밀 나노구조물 형성을 위한 새로운 KOH 습식각 기술 (A Novel KOH Wet Etching Technique for Ultrafine Nanostructure Formation)

  • The present study introduces a novel wet etching technique for nanostructure fabrications which usually requires low surface roughness. Using the current method, acquired profiles were smooth even in the nanoscale, which cannot be easily achieved with conventional wet or dry etching methods. As one of the most popular single crystal silicon etchant, potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution was used as a base solvent and two additives, antimony trioxide (Sb2O3) and ethyl alcohol were employed in. Four experimental parameters, concentrations of KOH, Sb2O3, and ethyl alcohol and temperature were optimized at 60 wt.%, 0.003 wt.%, 10 v/v%, and $23^{\circ}C$, respectively. Effects of additives in KOH solution were investigated on the profiles in both (110) and (111) planes of single crystal silicon wafer. The preliminary results show that additives play a critical role to decrease etch rate significantly down to ~2 nm/min resulting in smooth side wall profiles on (111) plane and enhanced surface roughness.

방전드릴링의 가공특성 향상 (Improvement of Electrical Discharge Drilling)

  • Electrical discharge drilling (ED-drilling) is a widespread machining method used to bore small holes with a high aspect ratio. This paper presents additional methods by which ED-drilling can improve machining speed, tool wear, and machined surface quality. Firstly, for high machining speed, and low tool wear, a new-type electrode that was ground on one side or both sides of the cylindrical electrodes was suggested to expel debris. The debris which is generated during the machining process can cause sludge deposition and secondary discharge problems: major reasons to decrease machining speed. This new-type electrode also reduced tool wear that was due to the decrease of unstable discharge in a machining gap by helping to expel waste water and debris from the gap. Secondly, to improve the machined surface roughness, an electrolyzation process was included after drilling. This process made the machined surface smooth by means of an electrochemical reaction between an electrode and a workpiece. In this study, the machining speed, electrode wear, and surface roughness were improved by the newtype electrode and the electrolytic process.

Improving the Surface Roughness of SL Parts Using a Coating and Grinding Process

  • Rapid prototyping (RP) technology can fabricate any 3D physical model regardless of geometric complexity using the layered manufacturing (LM) process. Stereolithography (SL) is the best-known example of RP technology. In general, the surface quality of a raw SL-generated part is unsatisfactory for industrial purposes due to the step artefact created by the LM process. Despite of the increased number of applications for SL parts, this side effect limits their uses. In order to improve their surface quality, additional post-machining finishing, such as traditional grinding, is required, but post-machining is time consuming and can reduce the geometric accuracy of a part. Therefore, this study proposes a post-machining technology combining coating and grinding processes to improve the surface quality of SL parts. Paraffin wax and pulp are used as the coating and grinding materials. By grinding the coating wax only up to the boundary of the part, the surface smoothness can be improved without damaging the surface. Finally, moulding and casting experiments were performed to confirm the suitability of the SL parts finished using the proposed process with rapid tooling (RT) techniques.
