Effects of plating conditions (dispersant concentration, plating time, and ultrasonication) on electroless Cu plating on SiC fabric woven by crossing of SiC continuous fibers vertically were studied. The ultrasonic dispersion treatment not only did not improve the dispersion of the SiC fibers, but also did not change the plating thickness. The ultrasonication in the pretreatment step of electroless plating did not improve the dispersion of the fibers, while the ultrasonication in the plating step enhanced the dispersion of the fibers and decreased the thickness of the Cu films. It was possible to control the thickness of the Cu coating layer as well as the dispersion of the fibers in the fabric by changing the plating conditions such as dispersant concentration, plating time, and ultrasonication, but it was very difficult to coat copper on the intersection of vertical fibers in the fabric.
To develop cleansing tissue composed of silicone multiple emulsions which could easily remove make-up residues and confer skin protecting effect without damaging skin, we formulated various silicone multiple emulsions and evaluated the physicochemical properties including viscosity, cleansing effect, and safety effect. Also, cleansing tissue incorporated with silicone multiple (W/Si/W) emulsion was stored for 6 months, and judged its stability through microscopes under accelerated and long-term condition. Cleansing effect was evaluated by chromameter. Skin hydration effect was determined by corneometer and incorporation effect into non-woven fabric cotton was evaluated by volunteer survey. Low viscosity ranged from 400 centipoise (cP) to 1,000 cP was obtained from a stabilized W/Si/W emulsion containing more than 10% volatile silicone. Mean diameter of fresh W/Si/W emulsion was $20{\mu}m$, but after storage for 3 months at $45^{\circ}C$, the particle size of the W/Si/W emulsion increased up to $50{\mu}m$. Both W/Si/W emulsion-incorporated cleansing tissue and commercial product showed equally good cleansing effect. In addition, skin allergies such as erythema, edema, scaling itching, stinging, burning, tightness and prickling were not observed through macroscopic examination. From the transepidermal water loss results, the cleansing tissue consisting of W/Si/W emulsion showed superior hydration effect to commercial product. In conclusion, this study suggests cleansing tissue using W/Si/W emulsion could be used for an excellent efficacy compared with commercialized cleansing tissue.
The three-dimensional woven fabric C/SiC composites blisk turbine rotor model was evaluated. The spin tests of the blisk model were performed to measure strain distributions at the room temperature. The rotational strength of the blisk model could be improved by the fiber addition. But, there are still more researches to be done.

Continuous fiber-reinforced ceramic matrix composites (CFCCs) have a complex distribution of porosity, consisting of interfiber micro pores and interbundle/interply macro pores. Owing to the complex geometry of the pores and fiber architecture, it is difficult to obtain representative microstructural features throughout the specimen volume with conventional, destructive ceramographic approaches. In this study, we introduce X-ray computed microtomography (X-ray ${\mu}CT$) to nondestructively analyze the microstructures of disk shaped and tubular $SiC_f$/SiC composites fabricated by the chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) method. The disk specimen made by stacking plain-woven SiC fabrics exhibited periodic, large fluctuation of porosity in the stacking direction but much less variation of porosity perpendicular to the fabric planes. The X-ray ${\mu}CT$ evaluation of the microstructure was also effectively utilized to improve the fabrication process of the triple-layered tubular SiC composite.
A new textile metal matrix composite fur electronic packaging was developed and characterized. The thermal management materials consist of a plain woven carbon fabric as reinforcement and pure aluminum as matrix. The finite element method has been utilized in the analysis of thermal stress between the constituent components of packaging. The prototype part was manufactured by the liquid pressurizing method. The composite has CTE values of 4 to $5{\times}10^{-6}\;^{\circ}C^{-1}$10 in the range of $25^{\circ}C$ ~ 175$^{\circ}C$, resulting in good agreement with electronic materials such as Si and GaAs.
