In this paper, the n-channel poly-Si thin-film transistors (poly-Si TFT's) formed by solid phase crystallization (SPC) on glass were investigated by measuring the electrical properties of poly-Si films, such as I-V characteristics, mobility, leakage current, threshold voltage, and subthreshold slope. It is done to decide to be applied on TFT-LCD with large-size and high density. In n-channel poly-Si TFT with 2, 10, 25$\mu\textrm{m}$ of channel length, the field effect mobilities are 111, 126 and 125 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V-s and leakage currents are 0.6, 0.1, and 0.02 pA/$\mu\textrm{m}$, respectively. Low threshold voltage and subthreshold slope, and good ON-OFF ratio are shown, as well. Thus, the poly-Si TFT’s used by SPC are expected to be applied on TFT-LCD with large-size and high density, which can integrate display panel and peripheral circuit on a large glass substrate.
The nature and composition of the surfaces of silicon nitride and β-Sialon powders were investigated using high voltage and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). β-Sialon powder was produced from Hadong kaolin by the carbothermic reduction and simultaneous nitridation. XPS showed that Al was contained in the surface of β-Sialon powder besides Si, N and O components, which is different from that of silicon nitride. It was supposed that Al in the surface of β-Sialon was bonded with oxygen from the oxygen-nitrogen ratio and the measurement of Al 2p binding energies. After both silicon nitride and β-Sialon powders were oxidized at 800℃ for 24h in air, nitrogen didn't exist in the surfaces and the depth of the oxide layer increased. The measurement of Si 2p binding energies showed that the chemical shifts occurred from Si3N2O and/or Si2N2O to SiO2 phase.
Purpose: The aim of the present study was to measure the standing balance symmetry of stroke patients using a force-plate with computer system, and to investigate the correlation between the standing balance symmetry and that of the walking function in stroke patients. Methods: 48 patients with stroke (34 men, 14 women, $56.8{\pm}11.72$ years old) participated in this study. Static standing balance was evaluated by the weight distribution on the affected and the nonaffected lower limbs, sway path, sway velocity, and sway frequency, which reflected the characteristic of body sway in quiet standing. Dynamic standing balance was evaluated by anteroposterior and mediolateral sway angle, which revealed the limit of stability during voluntary weight displacement. Symmetry index of static standing balance, (SI-SSB) calculated by the ratio of the affected weight distribution for the nonaffected weight distribution, and symmetric index of dynamic standing balance (SI-SDB) by the ratio of the affected sway angle for the nonaffected sway angle. Functional balance assessed by a Berg balance scale (BBS), and the functional walking by 10m walking velocity, as well as the modified motor assessment scale (mMAS). Results: Static balance scales and SI-SSB was the only correlation with BBS (p<0.05). Dynamic balance scales and SI-DSB, not only was correlated with BBS, but also with 10m walking velocity and mMAS (p<0.01). Additionally, there was a significant difference between SI-SSB and that of SI-DSB (p<0.01). Conclusion: The balance and the walking function relate to real life in the stroke showed strong relationships with the dynamic standing balance symmetry in the frontal plane and the ability of anterior voluntary weight displacement in sagittal plane.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the mechanical property and ductile-brittle transition temperature of Ti-Nb-P added extra low carbon interstitial free steel having a tensile strength of 440 MPa. The mechanical property and transition temperature of hot rolled steel sheets were more influenced by the coiling temperature rather than by the small amount of alloying element. Further, at the same composition, the property of the specimen coiled at low temperature was superior to that obtained at higher coiling temperature. The fracture surface of 0.005C-0.2Si-1.43Mn steel coiled at $630^{\circ}C$ showed a ductile fracture mode at $-100^{\circ}C$, but coiling at $670^{\circ}C$ showed a transgranular brittle fracture mode at $-90^{\circ}C$. The galvannealed 0.006C-0.07Si-1.33Mn steel sheet annealed at $810^{\circ}C$ has tensile strength and elongation of 442.8 MPa and $36.6\%$, respectively. The transition temperature of galvannealed 0.006C-0.07Si-1.33Mn steel sheet was increased with a drawing ratio, and the transition temperature of the galvannealed 0.006C-0.07Si-1.33Mn steel was $-60^{\circ}C$ at a drawing ratio of 1.8
Effects of the extrusion temperature and die angle on the tensile properties of SiCIyAl composites in powder extrusion have been investigated. SiCP/Al composites were extruded at various extrusion temperatures (450, 500, $550^{\circ}C$) under the extrusion ratio of 25 : 1. The ram speed was maintained at 13 cm/min for all the extrusion conditions. The surface of the extruded rod appeared to be smooth without tearing at 450 and 50$0^{\circ}C$, whereas it was very rough due to tearing at $550^{\circ}C$. It was found that the tensile strength and elongation of the composites extruded at $500^{\circ}C$ are greater than those of composites extruded at $450^{\circ}C$ This is due to the easier plastic deformation of composite extruded at $500^{\circ}C$, compared with the composites extruded at $450^{\circ}C$. The effect of die angle was examined under 20=60, 120, $180^{\circ}$die angles at extrusion temperature of $500^{\circ}C$ under 25:1 extrusion ratio. The tensile strength of the composites extruded with 20=$60^{\circ}$approved to be higher than that of the composties extruded with 28 : 120 and $180^{\circ}$This is attributable to the higher extrusion pressure, which mixed composite powders could be densely consolidated at elevated temperatures, resulting from high friction force between billet and sliding surface of conical die.

The fabrication and characterization of a Si/ZnO thin film heterojunction ultraviolet photodiode has been presented in this paper. ZnO thin film of ~100 nm thick was deposited on <100> Silicon (Si) wafer by atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. The Photoluminescence spectroscopy confirms that as-deposited ZnO thin film has excellent visible-blind UV response with almost no defects in the visible region. The room temperature current-voltage characteristics of the n-ZnO thin film/p-Si photodiodes are measured under an UV illumination of $650{\mu}W$ at 365 nm in the applied voltage range of ${\pm}2V$. The current-voltage characteristics demonstrate an excellent UV photoresponse of the device in its reverse bias operation with a contrast ratio of ~ 1115 and responsivity of ~0.075 A/W at 2 V reverse bias voltage.
The reaction gel mixtures of molar composition (0.3${\sim}$2.1) $SiO_2:\;(0.10{\sim}0.50)\;CTABr:\;0.15{\sim}0.23)\;TMAOH:\;(20{\sim}100)\;H_2O$ we prepared and then aged at room temperature for a definite duration. The aged gel is reacted hydrothermally at $150^{\circ}C$ for 2 days. The pH of reaction gel during synthesis is strongly influenced by the concentration of TMAOH and silica source. The pH change affects the phase of product, which is monitored by X-ray diffractometer. With increasing the TMAOH ratio from 0.19 to 0.23, the gel becomes more basic, and the product involves more lamellar phase. At TMAOH ratio lower than 0.19, the hexagonal phase is lower with decrease of pH. The content of the lamellar phase increases at a lower $SiO_2$ concentration, and higher concentrations have a clear detrimental effect on the crystallinity ofMCM-41 due to an excess silica source. The best quality MCM-41 is synthesized from a reaction gel composition of $1.0\;SiO_2:\;0.27\;CTABr:\;0.19\;TMAOH:\;40\;H_2O$. The pH values of this gel, aged one for 24 hr, and reacted one at $150^{\circ}C$ for 2 days are 12.3, 11.5, and 10.5, respectively. Gel aging for 24 h is essential for preparing high quality MCM-41. Longer aging causes a decrease of hexagonal phase.
The equilibrium distribution of bismuth and lead between molten PbO-$SiO_2$ slag and bismuth phase was studied in the temperature range of $775^{\circ}C$ to $850^{\circ}C$ in a MgO crucible. The oxygen partial pressure of atmosphere was controlled by $P_{CO2}/P_{CO}$ ratio. The value of $(%PbO)_{slag}/[%Pb]_{metal}$ increased with increasing $SiO_2$ content of slag, and the value of $(%Bi_2O_3)_{slag}/[%Bi]_{metal}$ decreased with increasing $SiO_2$ content of slag. The concentration of Pb in metal increased with increasing temperature. These experimental results agreed well with the thermodynamic prediction.
The surface chemical properties of aqueous kaolinite and halloysite were studied using a potentiometric titration experiment and a computer program FITEQL3.2. Among the surface complexation models a constant capacitance model was selected for this study. The 2 sites - 3 p $K_{a}$ s model, in which the surfaces were assumed to have tetrahedral and octahedral sites, was reasonable for the description of the experimental data. The surface charges of both minerals were negative above pH of 4. The higher the pH, the lower the proton surface charge densities of both minerals. The ≡ $SiO^{[-10]}$ site played an important role in cation adsorption in acid and neutral pH range; whereas the ≡ Al $O^{[-10]}$ site was in an alkaline pH range. The optimized intrinsic constants of kaolinite, p $K_{a2(Si)}$$^{int}$, p $K_{al(Al)}$$^{int}$ and p $K_{a2(Al)}$$^{int}$ were 4.436, 4.564, and 8.461 respectively, and those of halloysite were 7.852, 3.885, and 7.084, respectively. The total Si and Al surface sites concentrations of kaolinite were 0.215 and 0.148 mM, and those of halloysite were 0.357 and 0.246 mM. The ratio of Si and Al surface site densities ([≡SiOH]:[≡AlOH]) of both minerals was 1 : 0.69. The total surface site density of kaolinite, 3.774 sites/n $m^2$, was 1.6 times larger than that of halloysite, 2.292 sites/n $m^2$./TEX>.
The behavior of Na-A type zeolite formed in hydrothermal synthesis of melting slag from municipal incineration ash has been investigated with varying synthesis time and $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratio. Sodium silicate and sodium aluminate feed was found to initially form nuclei of Na-A type zeolite in the behavioral study of the reaction products with different synthesis times. As the synthesis time increased, the nuclei have grown to Na-A type zeolite crystals by reacting with $SiO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ dissolved from the melting slag. The hydrothermal synthesis was completed in 10 hr in the $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratio of 1.38 and after that time, the Na-A type zeolite formed was dissolved and transformed into hydroxysodalite. Only Na-A type zeolite was formed in the $SiO_2/Al_2O_3$ ratio ranging 0.80 to 1.96, whereas Na-P type zeolite as well as Na-A type was formed in the $SiO_2/Al2O_3$ ratio of 2.54.
