Electrical Properties of Temperature Coefficient of Resistance and Heat Radiation Structure Design for Shunt Fixed Resistor (저항 온도계수와 방열 구조설계에 따른 션트 고정 저항의 전기적 특성)

  • In this study, we designed the temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and heat radiation properties of shunt fixed resistors by adjusting the atomic composition of a metal alloy resistor, and fabricated a resistor that satisfied the designed properties. Resistors with similar atomic composition of copper and nickel showed low TCR and excellent shunt fixed resistor properties such as short-time overload, rated load, humidity load, and high temperature load. Finally, we expect that improved sensor accuracy will be obtained in current-distribution-type shunt fixed resistor for IoT sensors by designing the atomic composition of the metal alloy resistor proposed in this work.

  • We fabricated a resistive superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) with a shunt resistor in order to bypass the transient current at faults. The SFCL consists of a YBCO films coated with an Au layer (10$\Omega$ at room temperature). which is to disperse the heat generated at hot spots in the YBCO films, and a 5$\Omega$ shunt resistor. The minimum quench current of the SFCL was found to be 12.2Apeak. This SFCL successfully controlled the fault current to below 23 Apeak. Which is otherwise to increase up to 103 Apeak. With the shunt resistor, the temperature of the SFCL rose the temperature of the SFCL rose three times slower than without the shunt, whereby the SFCL is protected at high currents.

  • 본 논문에서는, 동기 전동기 구동을 위해 세 개의 Shunt Resistor를 이용하여 전류를 피드백 받는 방법에 대하여 분석한다. 특히 세 개의 Shunt Resistor를 이용하여 전류를 피드백 받는 경우 인버터 출력 전압의 크기에 따라 피드백 받은 상전류 정보의 왜곡이 발생하는 문제점에 대하여 분석하고 이를 해결하기 위한 새로운 방법을 제안하며, 실험 결과를 통하여 검증한다.

  • External shunt resistor is used in Nb/AlOx/Nb Josephson junction which is basic component of RSFQ circuit. This is to increase damping and to make the so called 'self-reset' optimized for high speed operation. In this study, we fabricated and investigated sheet resistance of Pd and PdAu thin film, and simulated the inductance effect of the shunt resistor to the Josepshon junction dynamics.

  • Electric power in large devices is controlled by digital circuits, such as switching mode power supply. This kind of power circuits require accurate current sensor for power distribution. We studied characteristics of shunt resistor, which has many advantages for commercial application compared to Hall-effect current sensor. We applied ceramic package to the shunt resistor. Ceramic package has good thermal conductivity compared to plastic package, and this point is important for space requirement in Printed Circuit Board (PCB). Another advantage of the ceramic package is that surface mount technology (SMT) can be used for production. Our experimental results showed that the ceramic packaged resistor showed about 50% lower temperature than the plastic packaged one. Burning point and frequency characteristics are also discussed.

  • 동기 전동기 구동에서는 정밀한 토크 제어를 위해 벡터 제어가 필요하다. 이를 위해 전류 피드백이 필요하며, 전류를 검출하는 방법으로 1개 또는 3개의 shunt resistor를 사용하여 각각 dc-link 전류 검출 또는 상 전류를 검출하는 것이 있다. 이 전류 검출 방법들의 문제 발생 구간을 분석한다.

  • Both ratio error and phase angle error in current transformer(CT) depend critically on values of CT burden. Thus, precise measurement of CT burden is very important for the evaluation of CT. A method for the measurement of CT burden has been developed by employing the portable shunt precise resistor with negligible AC-DC resistance difference less than $10^{-5}$. The burden value(value and power factor) can be calculated from resistance and reactance obtained by measuring the change of ratio error and phase angle error caused by the change of shunt resistor. The uncertainty for the method is evaluated and found to be abut 2 %.

  • 본 논문에서는, 동기 전동기 구동을 위해 Three Shunt Resistor를 이용하여 전류를 피드백 받는 방법에 대하여 분석한다. 특히 Three Shunt Resistor를 이용하여 전류를 피드백 받는 경우 Modulation Index (MI)의 크기에 따라 피드백 받은 상전류 정보의 왜곡이 발생하는 문제점에 대하여 분석하고 이를 해결하기 위한 새로운 방법을 제안하며, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 검증한다.

  • Recently, due to the rapid development of electric vehicle and energy storage system, it is emphasized for battery management system to be needed and to be improved. BMS carries out various movement for optimization the use of the energy and safe use of secondary battery, these movement of BMS start at high wattage shunt fixed resistor which performs a function for detecting current among the BMS components. In addition, for the safe operation of secondary battery, the reliability of current voltage variation detected from shunt should be secured, and for corresponding characteristics, the quality of Temperature coefficient of resistance for BMS shunt and the quality of Thermo electromotive force all must be excellent. For these reasons, this study comes up with the stabilization plan for thermo electromotive force and temperature coefficient of resistance of BMS shunt resistor which is key to secondary battery operation.

Improvement of aeroelastic stability of hingeless helicopter rotor blade by passive piezoelectric damping

  • To augment weakly damped lag mode stability of a hingeless helicopter rotor blade in hover, piezoelectric shunt with a resistor and an inductor circuits for passive damping has been studied. A shunted piezoceramics bonded to a flexure of rotor blade converts mechanical strain energy to electrical charge energy which is dissipated through the resistor in the R-L series shunt circuit. Because the fundamental lag mode frequency of a soft-in-plane hingeless helicopter rotor blade is generally about 0.7/rev, the design frequency of the blade system with flexure sets to be so. Experimentally, the measured lag mode frequency is 0.7227/rev under the short circuit condition. Therefore the suppression mode of this passive damping vibration absorber is adjusted to 0.7227/rev. As a result of damping enhancement using passive control, the passive damper which consists of a piezoelectric material and shunt circuits has a stabilizing effect on inherently weakly damped lag mode of the rotor blades, at the optimum tuning and resistor condition.
