  • This paper proposes a novel method to convert monoscopic soccer videos to stereoscopic videos. Through the soccer video analysis process, we detect shot boundaries and classify soccer frames into long shot or non-long shot. In the long shot case, the depth mapis generated relying on the size of the extracted ground region. For the non-long shot case, the shot is further partitioned into three types by considering the number of ground blocks and skin blocks which is obtained by a simple skin-color detection method. Then three different depth assignment methods are applied to each non-long shot types: 1) Depth estimation by object region extraction, 2) Foreground estimation by using the skin block and depth value computation by Gaussian function, and 3)the depth map generation for shots not containing the skin blocks. This depth assignment is followed by stereoscopic image generation. Subjective evaluation comparing generated depth maps and corresponding stereoscopic images indicate that the proposed algorithm can yield the sense of depth from a single view images.

  • A method to get a size of the radiation isocenter of linear accelerators using star-shot images was presented and a computer program was developed to automate the method. Accuracy of the method was verified. The developed program was used to measure sizes of the radiation isocenters for a Clinac 21EX (Varian, USA) using data of quality assurance (QA) performed from June 2008 to December 2010. To calculated the size of radiation isocenter, positions of two points on each central ray of the star-shot image were found and the equation of the central ray was determined using the positions of two points. Using the equations of central rays the radius of the minimum circle intersecting all the central rays, which is one half of the size of radiation isocenter, was calculated. The program measured x-intercepts and y-intercepts of the central rays within errors of 0.084 mm and sizes of radiation isocenters within 0.053 mm. All the errors were less than the spatial resolution of star-shot images 0.085 mm. The radiation isocenter sizes of Clinac 21EX were $0.33{\pm}0.27mm$, $0.71{\pm}0.36mm$, $0.50{\pm}0.16mm$ for collimator, gantry and couch respectively. During the measurement period all the measured sizes were less than 2.0 mm and within tolerance. The developed program could calculate the size of radiation isocenters and it would be helpful to routine QA.

  • Gas-assisted injection molding (GAIM) process is reducing the injection pressure during mold filling required as well as the shrinkage and warpage of the part and cycle time. Despite of these advantages, this process introduces new parameters and makes the application more difficult because the process interacts between gas and melt during injection molding process. Important GAIM factors that involved in this process include gas penetration design, locations of gas injection points, shot size, gas injection delay time as well as common injection molding parameters, gas pressure and gas injection time. In this study, the experiments were conducted to investigate effects of GAIM process variables on the gas penetration for PP and ABS moldings by changing gas injection point. Taguchi method was used fer the design of experiment. When the gas was injected at cavity's center, the most effective factor was shot size. When the gas was injected at cavity's end, the most effective factor was melt temperature. Injection speed was also an effective factor in GAIM process.

  • Gas-Assisted Injection Molding(GAIM) is an innovative technology for producing plastic parts and has been received extensive attention in the plastic manufacturing industries. But, due to gas-polymer interacting during the gas injection phase, the process has significantly different characteristics from conventional injection molding and, therefore, the control of the process requires much technical knowledge in processing and materials. The experiment was performed about variations of gas-penetration length that is affected by filling imbalance resulting from the structure of runner. The Taguchi method was used for the design of experiment. The most effective factors for the gas-penetration length were the shot size and mold temperature. The most effective factors for the difference of the gas-penetration length were the melt temperature and shot size. This study also discussed the filling imbalance phenomenon in a unary branch runner type mold that has geometrically balanced runner.

  • In this work, we have studied on time-resolved transient reflective image of single crystalline Si surface after single-shot fs-laser irradiation with varying the laser fluence under two different laser spot sizes. The temporal profiles of transient reflectivity changes as well as its maximum values at the early delay time were found to be strongly dependent on both the laser beam spot size and laser fluence. We have interpreted the dependence of transient reflectivity changes on the laser spot size in terms of a relaxation of the generated free carriers to the bulk silicon, which should be interacted with the plasma.

  • Based on the camera movement on image expression and grammar, this study intended to analyze the characteristics of image expression filmed and broadcasted by drones. This study analyzed drone images using the movement characteristics of existing video cameras as a coding nomenclature. These were intended to examine the differences from existing video grammar and their implications. This study conducted a content analysis using the entire population of drone news footage broadcast for four years in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 by TV Chosun. The size of the screen, camera work, duration of the shot, camera angle, etc. were selected and analyzed. As a result, the drone camera work showed that it uses the most dolly shots in the case of camera movement, followed by the drone camera movement in the order of pan and tilt shots. For zoom, the frequency of use was the smallest. In addition, this study analyzed the size of the screen, duration of the shot, and camera angle of drone. Analysis shows that drones use certain camera movements most frequently, and unlike grandiose modifiers such as "extension of human gaze," drone remains as a supplementary means to enhance the traditional media expression.

  • Rencentely, the request for the light weight is more incresed in the area of industrial environment and machinery and consistent effort is needed to accomplish high strength of material for the direction of light weight. we got the following characteristic from crack growth test carried out in the range of stress ration of 0.1, 0.3 and 0.6 by means of opening mode displacement. At the content stress ratio, the threshold stress intensity factor crack range ${\Delta}K_{th}$in the early stage of fatigue crack growth (Region I) and dtress intensity factor range ${\Delta}K$ in the stable of fatigue crack growth (Region II) with an increase in ${\Delta}K$. Fatigue life shows more improvement in the Shot-peened material than in the Un-peening material. And compressive residual stress of surface on the Shot peening processed operate resistance force of fatigue. So we can obtain fallowings. (1) The fatigue crack growth rate on stage II is conspicuous with the size of compressive residual stress and is depend on Paris equation. (2) Although the maxium compressive residual stress is deeply and widely formed from surface, fatigue life does not improve than when maxium compressive residual stress is formed in surface. (3) The threshold stress intensity factor range is increased with increasing compressive residual stress.

  • A high-impulse, low-power, continuous-shot microthruster has been developed using low boiling temperature liquid-propellant with high viscous fluid-plug. The viscous friction force of the fluid-plug increases the blast pressure and the low boiling temperature liquid-propellant is intended to reduce input power consumption. The three-layer microthruster has been fabricated by surface micromachining as well as bulk micromachining in the size of $7{\times}13{\times}1.5mm^{3}$. A continuous output impulse bit of $6.4{\times}10^{-8}N{\cdot}sec$ has been obtained from the fabricated microthruster using perfluoro normal hexane (FC72) propellant and oil plug, resulting in about ten times increase of the impulse bit using one hundredth electrical input energy compared to the conventional continuous microthruster.

  • ZnO thin films were deposited at different repetition rates of 5 Hz and 10 Hz by pulsed laser deposition. X-ray diffraction (XRD) full widths at half maximum (FWHMs) of (002) ZnO peak in ZnO thin film deposited at 5 Hz and 10 Hz was 0.22 and $0.26^{\circ}$, respectively. The grain size of ZnO thin film deposited at 5 Hz was larger than that of 10 Hz. The variation of repetition rates did not have an effect on the optical property of ZnO thin films. The degradation of the crystalline quality and surface morphology in ZnO thin film deposited at 10 Hz resulted from supersaturation effect by decrease of time interval between a ZnO particle arriving on a substrate by laser shot and a ZnO particle arriving on a substrate by next laser shot.
