  • The biggest obstacle in utilizing Telerobotics is that an exclusive line is necessary to connect the distant place and manipulator for the purpose of remote control. Moreover, installment of an exclusive line Is limited to relatively short distance, as the installment entails more difficulties with longer distance and increasing installment cost. The purpose of this paper is to suggest a methodology of factory automation by using Lab VIEW to control and monitor actuators, which are the basis of controlling manipulators, form distant places.

  • Electrostatically actuated nanoscale tweezers are fabricated on micro processed electrodes using FIB-CVD. Heavily doped electrode works as interconnection platform for controlling nanoscale devices. Short bent pillars are deposited to control the gap distance of main tweezers fabricated on bent ones. Two types of tweezers which have different gap distances are fabricated and tweezing motion was successfully demonstrated. The threshold voltages at snap-down of the pillars are dependent on the initial gap distance of the unactuated pillars, and the measured values were 93V for 3.6um and 30V for 2.2um. The dimension of nano tweezers and initial gap distances are controllable as demonstrated and we expect more complicated 3-dimensional shapes are also possible.

  • Underwater ambient noise in the depth 5m to 200m layers was measured at 14 point from the 24th of July to 2nd of August, 1984, in the Korean east sea areas. The underwater ambient noise pressure level was depended upon configuration of the sea bottom and sea condition, which was formed type of prevaling noise at a long distance from coast and type of intermittent and regional noise at a short distance from coast.

  • In this paper, the numerical analysis of the model without air-guide was carried out in wind power generator. From numerical results, the temperature rise was not satisfied for the class F insulation and the non-uniformity of temperature distribution was a wide difference in heating elements. To improve these problems, the air-guide was installed in front of the coil head of non-drive end(NDE). The short distance between coil head and air-guide was more effective than long distance in cooling performance. Compared to that of the preliminary design, it was found that the cooling performance of the modification design was improved about 12%.

  • Recently, Collision Warning System is developed to improve vehicle safety. This system chiefly uses radar. But the detected vehicle from radar must be decide whether it is the vehicle in the same lane of my vehicle or not. Therefore, Vision System is needed to detect traffic lane. As a preparative step, this study presents the development of algorithm to recognize traffic lane curve direction. That is, the Neural Network that can recognize traffic lane curve direction is constructed by using the information of short distance, middle distance, and decline of traffic lane. For this procedure, the relation between used information and traffic lane curve direction must be analyzed. As the result of application to sampled 2,000 frames, the rate of success is over 90%.t text here.

  • The present experimental study investigates single-phase heat transfer coefficients downstream of support grid in $6{\times}6$ rod bundles. Support grid with split mixing vanes enhance heat transfer in rod bundles by generating it make turbulence. But this turbulence is confined to short distance. Support grid with LSVF mixing vanes enhanced heat transfer to longer distance. The corresponding Reynolds number investigated in the present study is Re=30,000. The heat transfer coefficients are measured using heated and unheated copper sensor.

  • After a short review of the iterative optimal blank method, a new method of measuring the shape error for stamped parts with 3D contour lines, which is an essential component of the optimal blank design, is proposed. When the contour line of the target shape does not exist in a plane, but exists in 3D space, especially when the shape of the target contour line is very complicated as in the real automotive parts, then the measurement of the shape error is critical. In the current study, a method of shape error measurement based on the minimum distance is suggested as an evolution of the radius vector method. With the proposed method, the optimal blank shapes of real automotive parts were found and compared to the results of the radius vector method. From the current investigation the new method is found to resolve the issues with the radius vector method.

  • This paper presents a numerical algorithm for fault location estimation which used to data from both end of the transmission line. The proposed algorithm is also based on the synchronized voltage and current phasor measured from the PMUs(Phasor Measurement Units) in the time-domain. This paper has separated from two part of with/without shunt capacitance(short/long distance). Most fault was arc one-ground fault which is 75% over [1]. so most study focused with it. In this paper, the numerical algorithm has calculated to distance for ground fault and line-line fault. In this paper, the algorithm is given with/without shunt capacitance using II parameter line model, simple impedance model and estimated using DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) and the LES(Least Error Squares Method). To verify the validity of the proposed algorithm, the EMTP(Electro- Magnetic Transient Program) and MATLAB did used.

  • This paper provides an overview of Pakistan Railways scheduling and rescheduling. First of all, Pakistan Railways is introduced with its brief history and importance in this country. Assets of this network with passengers and freight using this are given. Current hope less situation is leading to privatization of this system as well as promoting short distance traveler to use road and Government efforts to retain is also presented. Train scheduling in Pakistan is being done manually, based on manual time distance graph preparation and resolution of conflicts based on manager's experience and ability. In Real-time management of this traffic Lahore head office is connected with six control stations in the Pakistan, decision for resolution of any disturbance is coordinated among them. It is recommended that computer aided tools must be developed for this system to help traffic managers and it is needed to invest on the segments to increase their speed limits which might attract passengers to use this mode of transportation with high priority.

  • In this work, the characteristics and the improving method of train performance of Korean rubber-tired AGT system(K-AGT) and Urban MAGLEV system are evaluated by using Train Performance Simulation(TPS). The train performance characteristics of K-AGT were analysed according to the change of maximum running speed and those of Urban MAGLEV were evaluated according to a vehicle weight variation. In the result of simulation in virtual line, the scheduled speed and the running time of K-AGT system have no difference with Urban MAGLEV system if the maximum running speed is equal. But the energy consumption of Urban MAGLEV system is more than that of K-AGT system. The analyses showed that in case of a 20 percent vehicle weight reduction of Urban MAGLEV system, the energy consumption per person is similar with the K-AGT system. The Urban MAGLEV system is more efficient in long travel distance condition than in short running distance condition in the aspect of train performance.
