Landscape Ecological Changes of Large Dams and Reservoir in China

  • Dams are distributed widely in all over the world. China is one of the countries which have the most dams in the world. The construction of dams promotes consumedly to the development of economy and society, at the same time, brings many ecological and social problems. In China, the landscape ecological changes are caused by the construction of dams. These changes are long term or short term, and some of these changes are positive, others are negative. Solving these issues need do a lot of circumspect work in location choosing, planning and designing, practicing and protection of the up reservoir basin and the whole basin and so on. The construction of dams should be implemented by reasonable landscape planning, ecological environment protection in order to realize sustainable development.

  • Many countries have recently been expanding efforts for low-carbon global economy to solve the problem of global warming. Development and research for various types of new reusable energy is on the rise throughout the world. The most promising source of energy is the solar photovoltaic energy and the government take an initiative to establish both short-term and long-term policies to develop the solar energy potential resource map. The solar energy and industrialize area researched by GIS methods for optimum site for solar power transfer system. This study attempts to address the hot issue of the development and suitability of the solar photovoltaic energy site using GIS spatial analysis. We need to analyze and describe the solar technology, green energy policies and the energy market trend of the field.

농업가뭄의 수문기상학적 특성 및 공간적 분포에 관한 연구 (Hydrometeorological Characteristics and The Spatial Distribution of Agricultural Droughts)

  • For 159 administrative areas, SPI(Standardized Precipitation Index), ARDI(Agricultural Reservoir Drought Index) and ARDIs(Agricultural Reservoir Drought Index Simulated) were developed and applied to analyze the characteristics of agricultural drought index and agricultural droughts. In order to identify hydrometeorological characteristics of agricultural droughts, SPI, ARDI and ARDIs were calculated nationwide, and the applicability was compared and examined. SPI and ARDI showed significant differences in time and depth of drought in both spatial and temporal. ARDI and ARDIs showed similar tendency of change, and ARDIs were considered to be more representative of agricultural drought characteristics. The results of this study suggest that agricultural drought is a problem to be solved in the medium and long term rather than short term due to various forms of development, complexity of development, and difficulty in forecasting. Therefore, it is concluded that a preliminary and systematic approach is needed in consideration of meteorological, hydrological and hydrometeorological characteristics rather than a fragmentary approach, and that an agricultural drought index is needed to quantitatively evaluate agricultural drought.

Managing Short Root Anomalies in Pediatric Cancer Survivors: Utilizing Resin Wire Splints and Miniscrews for Skeletal Anchorage

  • Patients with pediatric cancer often undergo multiple therapies, such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and stem cell transplantation. These treatments, while essential, can result in dental developmental issues, including hypodontia, microdontia, short roots, and delayed dental development. This report presents two cases of pediatric patients diagnosed with neuroblastoma who exhibited severe tooth mobility due to short roots as a complication of cancer treatment. Moreover, we investigated the conservative management of the patients' conditions using resin wire splints and orthodontic miniscrews for skeletal anchorage along with long-term follow-ups to evaluate their prognosis.

훼손된 도시생태계 생태복원 평가지표 제시 및 복원성과 분석 (Evaluation indicators for the restoration of degraded urban ecosystems and the analysis of restoration performance)

  • This study aims to analyze the effect of urban ecosystem restoration projects by evaluating the short-term restoration performance of the project sites, from both qualitative and quantitative evaluations. In this study, for the qualitative evaluation, we derived the evaluation frame from previous studies and literature. For the quantitative evaluation, the changes in ecological connectivity after the restoration project were described using landscape permeability and network analysis. In addition, changes in habitat quality after the restoration project were evaluated by using InVEST Habitat Quality Model. These evaluations were applied to the three natural madang (ecological restoration) projects and two ecosystem conservation cooperation projects. As a result, three categories, 10 indicators, and 13 sub-indicators were derived from literature as the evaluation frame for this study. In the case of quantitative evaluation of restoration performance, habitat quality increased by 45% and ecological connectivity by 37% in natural-madang, and habitat quality by about 12% and ecological connectivity by about 19% in ecosystem conservation cooperation projects. This implies that the ecological restoration project can increase the ecological connectivity and the habitat quality of degraded sites even in a short period of time by improving the land-cover and land use. The results by applying the evaluation frame indicated that ecological and environmental factors and the ecological functions were improved by the restoration works, even though the magnitude of performances were diverse depending on the specific evaluation items, project type, and site characteristics. This study clarified that the success of ecological restoration project should be assessed by both of the short-term and long-term goals, which can be achieved by the maintenance and sustainable management, respectively.

산림소유역(山林小流域)의 장(長)·단기(短期) 유출(流出) 해석(解析)을 위(爲)한 강우(降雨)-유출모형(流出模型)의 개발(開發) (Development of Rainfall-Runoff Model for a Long and Short Term Runoff Analysis in Small Forested Mountain Watersheds)

  • 산림소유역의 유출현상을 정량적으로 분석 평가하기 위한 개념적(槪念的)인 강우(降雨)-유출(流出) 수문모형(水文模型) 개발하기 위한 목적으로 산림소유역에서의 유출성분을 2단의 직렬저류탱크로 구성하고 여기에 산림수관에 의한 차단량과 집중호우 발생시의 지표유출성분을 재현하는 각각 1개씩의 탱크를 조합하여 총 4단의 탱크를 가진 강우-유출모형을 개발하였다. 또한, 본 모형의 적용성을 검증하기 위하여 전남 광양시 소재 서울대 농생대 부속 남부연습림 추산 시험장내 두 개소의 산림소유역을 시험유역으로 선정하고 1994년 1월부터 1996년 8월까지의 실측된 강우량, 유출수량 및 수관차단우량 자료로써 모형의 매개변수의 보정 및 적용성을 검증하였다. 보정 매개변수를 이용한 본 모형의 일유출량 모의발생치를 시험유역의 일별 실측치와 비교한 결과, 두 시험유역에서 모두 장기간 및 단기간에 있어서 실측치와 비교적 정확하게 일치하는 것으로 분석되었다.

단기순환림 생산을 위한 삽목 이식기 개발 (Development of Stem-cutting Transplanter for Short-term Rotation Coppice)

  • Since SRC (Short-term Rotation Coppice) such as poplar and willow can be harvested in three years, they are known to be a potential forest biomass as fuel for a power plant. The production system including transplanting and harvesting is, however, necessary to be mechanized because such a biomass should be handled in a massive volumetric size. A pull-type stem-cutting transplanter was developed in the research as the first step to realize the production of SRC. A needle-like transplanting device pushes a stem-cutting into the prepared soil bed by a pneumatic cylinder, and another device firms soil around a stem-cutting transplanted. Since this is an intermittent operation, it was necessary to develop a zero horizontal velocity mechanism which enabled only the transplanting needle part to continue a zero horizontal movement relative to the ground during the transplanting operation even when the tractor kept moving forward. The 2-row transplanter can transplant stem-cuttings at the rate of 6.5 seconds per row without missing a single attempt. The planting depth and distance were well maintained and controlled. Their CVs were between 2.1~3.4% and 0.87~1.7% for the depth and the distance, respectively. Although, the transplanted stem-cuttings tended to lean outward from the back-view and forward from the side view, they were planted within the range of $3^{\circ}$ from the upright position.

가을철 대한해협 표면혼합층의 단기변화 (Short-term Variation of the Mixed Layer in the Korea Strait in Autumn)

  • 표면혼합층의 단기(2시간~24시간)변화를 조사하기 위하여 대한해협의 한 정점에 서 1983년 10월 12일에서 10월 14일까지 48시간 동안 주로 1시간 간격으로 해양과 기 상에 대한 관측을 실시하였다. 표면혼합층의 깊이와 수온을 시간당 변동률이 평균적으 로 각각 5.2 m/hour, 0.2$^{\circ}C$/hour로 해표면에서의 바람 응력, 부력속과의 상관관계가 매우 적다. 표면 혼합층은 표면혼합층의 수온와 염분이 높을 때 깊고, 낮을 때 얕다. 한편, 표면혼합층 수온의 급격한 하강 또는 상승이 관측되었다. 인공위성 자료와 XBT 자료 분석에 의하면 표면혼합층 수온의 급격한 상승은 고온의 해수의 이류에 의한 일 어남을 알 수 있었다. 위의 결과들은 해류가 비교적 강하고 해수물성이 서로 다른 수 괴가 존재하는 가을철 대한해협에서는 해수의 이류가 표면혼합층의 단기변화에 크게 영향을 준다는 것을 나타낸다.

초단기 강우예측을 위한 기상레이더 강우장 추적기법 개발 (Development of Radar Tracking Technique for the Short -Term Rainfall Field Forecasting-)

  • 초단기 홍수예보를 위한 주요자료로서 최근 기상레이더의 중요성이 크게 부각되고 있다. 기상레이더는 넓은 지역에 걸쳐 실시간으로 강우현상 감시가 가능하며 지상우량계로는 파악이 불가능한 미계측유역을 통과하는 강우장의 이동 및 변화 파악이 가능한 장점이 있다. 본 연구는 강우장의 공간적 분포와 레이더 강우세포를 추적하는 강우장 예측 해석방안을 수립하였다. 이를 위해 강우장의 공간적인 이동을 고려하기 위해 강우장의 바람장 이류(advection) 패턴을 추출하여 각 강우세포가 가지는 이동방향 및 속도를 고려한 강우장 추적기법을 통하여 강우장을 예측하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발된 기상레이더 강우장 상관분석 기법을 활용한 초단기강우예측 결과는 집중호우시 홍수 예 경보를 위한 수문모형의 입력자료로 활용이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

초등학생의 긍정적 심리 향상을 위한 방학 중 단기 활동 프로그램 개발 및 효과 검증 (Development and Effectiveness of Short-term Activity Program during Vacation to Improve Positive Psychology of Elementary School Students)

  • 본 연구는 초등학생의 긍정적 심리 향상을 위하여 연극과 마음챙김을 주요 활동으로 하는 방학 중 단기활동 프로그램을 구성하고 그 효과를 검증하였다. 양적분석과 질적분석을 함께 사용하여 프로그램 효과를 다각적으로 검증하였는데, 본 연구를 통해 확인된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 본 프로그램에 참여한 학생들은 자발적이기보다는 부모 등의 권유에 의해 참여한 경우가 대부분이었다. 둘째, 프로그램 실시 후 자아존중감, 행복감이 유의하게 향상되었으며 스트레스, 우울은 유의하게 감소된 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 약 65~70%대의 학생들이 재밌었다, 도움이 되었다, 배우는 게 있었다, 다른 친구에게도 추천하고 싶다는 의사를 보였으며, 학생들이 긍정적 정서의 지각과 경험적 지식의 습득을 많이 경험한 것으로 보고되었다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점과 제언을 논하였다.
