  • There are a lot of shopping malls in Internet and most of consumers want to buy good goods in cheap price through the shopping malls. To support them, many sites for price comparison are constructed. But man or woman search many shopping malls and insert their price informations into database that the price comparison sites own. To overcome this disadvantage, virtual shopping malls are builded. These virtual shopping malls are connected and cooperated a lot of affiliated existing shopping malls for the cheapest price information. But, these virtual shopping mall are connected to those existing shopping malls in synchronous. So If they are connected to many existing shopping malls, we have to wait long time because of searching for many existing shopping malls. In this paper, we designed and implemented a virtual shopping mall that connect to many existing shopping malls in asynchronous. For a asynchronous communication between this virtual shopping mall and many existing shopping malls, we used JMS (Java Message Service) that is a standard Java API for MOM (Message-Oriented Middleware).

  • The purpose of this paper was to propose the efficient strategies of internet fashion shopping malls to success in the internet shopping mall market growing rapidly. Representative 5 internet fashion shopping malls - Halfclub, Fashionplus, e-Hyundai, Hansol CSClub and LGeShop - were selected and in-depth interviews were performed to analyze their marketing 4P's strategies. The results of this study are as fellows. Five shopping malls'main targets are women in twenties and early thirties. The price strategies are various according to shopping malls'character. In general, there are small amounts of discounts on new products(about 5%) which are sold by department stores. Shopping malls executed delivery of goods by cooperation with distribution companies and direct distribution of subcontract companies. Shopping malls are sending e-mails to the members as a promotion strategy. CRM(Customer Related Management) is partially implemented. Joint purchase and various events are conducted frequently. Shopping malls guarantee exchange and refund services.

Analysis of components of the Main Page in the SOHO Internet Apparel Shopping Malls - Comparative Analysis of Women's and Men's Malls -

  • The purpose of this study is to do a detailed analysis of the layouts and components of the main pages of the SOHO malls, which serve as its display window, and in turn, find a successful strategy for SOHO malls in the over saturated Internet shopping mall market. To analyze the components and layout of the main page of the SOHO Internet apparel shopping malls, top 50 Internet apparel shopping malls for woman and top 50 Internet apparel shopping malls for man, ranked within Internet shopping mall were selected. Data were collected from the coding sheets surveyed on the Internet apparel shopping malls for one month (September 2012). The result showed different patterns in various aspects between women's and men's malls. 1) The men's malls used product pictures more frequently in their main pages than the women's malls 2) The sections for jewelry and beauties were usually included in men's apparel shopping malls. 3) Men's malls usually had a rather crowded layout with numerous banners in order to expose their promotional items to the fullest. 4) men's malls provided a more detailed promotional and product information regarding the display items on its main pages. 5) Women's malls had a wider range of price distribution and generally higher prices.

  • Shopping malls in Seoul become important urban public space where teens and youths as well as the elderly come easily and enjoy thorned environment. This study examines design motifs, structures and effects of theme design of three shopping malls-Lotte World, Coex Mall, and Central City-in Seoul, Korea. The study quotes Lynch`s five image elements-paths, nodes, landmarks, districts, and edges in the shopping malls in order to analyze internal structure of the shopping malls and theme design elements. The theme design of the shopping malls was often used the images of "city parks", "future city", "foreign tourist places", "carnival and festival", and "old towns" to evoke nostalgia of the past and fantasy of the future. The study finds that theme design was emphasized at the area of corridors-path, plazas-nodes and special districts such as movie theater and food courts. The study concludes that theme design in the three shopping malls should consider local(Korean) motifs in design properly and consider educative effects of the design on teens and youths. Thus, theme design of the shopping malls should meet multi-functional roles of the spaces aesthetically and socially, The data and analysis of this study can contribute to improve theme design of shopping malls in Seoul, Korea.ve theme design of shopping malls in Seoul, Korea.

An investigation into the Online Sales Channels of Small Business Fashion Retailers on Portal Shopping and Fashion Shopping Malls (소상공인 패션판매업자의 온라인 판매채널 연구: 포털쇼핑몰과 패션쇼핑몰(종합물/전문몰)을 중심으로)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze the perceptions and entering status of small business online fashion retailers on portal shopping and fashion shopping malls. Case studies were conducted on a total of 10 research samples. The results were as follows: first, regarding the strategic factors of online fashion stores, 'price competitiveness' is important, especially in portal shopping and low-cost brands; 'product assortment' is important but not essential in all platforms; and 'differentiation' is important to continuously secure loyal customers in fashion shopping malls. Customer satisfaction leads to customer loyalty, and customer loyalty affects the sales conversion rate and brand growth of online sales channels. Factors that promoted sales activities in online sales channels were exposure, advertisements, SNS, events, special exhibitions, and events. Hindrance factors were low price competition, overheated competition, and the MD of sales channels. Second, the research samples used multiple online sales channels, including portal shopping malls and fashion shopping malls, in addition to their own malls. The selection factors were platform reputation and commission, branding, and customer inflow through exposure. Portal shopping malls were perceived as providing easy access, advertising/customer communication, exposure/search, price competitiveness, scalability, and intense competition, whereas fashion shopping malls were perceived as providing a brand image and concept, brand promotion, high commissions, difficult entry, and low profits. The factors for success in portal shopping malls were exposure/search, price competitiveness, and brand recognition, whereas the factors for success in fashion shopping malls were differentiation, brand, exposure/advertisement, product assortment, and MD.

A Study on Usage of Internet Shopping Mall and Purchasing Tendency of Female College Students (전문대 여대생의 인터넷쇼핑몰 이용과 구매성향에 관한 연구)

  • This paper aimed to provide the basic data on consumers' purchasing tendency required to start and operate online shopping malls on internet. The survey selected the female college students from 19 to 24 years old majoring fabric and fashion design in colleges in Gyeonggi-do. Total 283 questionnaires were selected for statistical analysis. The analysis results are presented below. The first online shopping was during the middle school times showing the highest responses as 63.54%, followed by high school times, college times and elementary school times in that sequence. Most female college students(97.88%) purchased goods from online shopping malls. The purposes of search in online shopping malls were 'need to purchase goods(47.18%)', 'habit/hobbies(27.57%)', 'need to collect data on goods(20.27%)' and 'to relieve stresses(4.98%)'. About 50% of respondents selected 'I visit mainly several online shopping malls. If there is no goods that I try to find, I search other sites and purchase what I want to buy(46.57%).' For the goods purchased from online shopping malls, everyday wears showed the highest ratio, 85.92%. About the time to purchase goods related to trends, most respondents selected 'purchase whenever it is necessary without respect to trends(87%).' Main considerations when the respondents purchased the goods from online shopping malls were 'design(64.98%)', 'price(18.41%)', 'quality(11.20%)', 'company recognition(2.53%)', 'color(1.44%)', and 'materials (1.44%)' in that sequence. 64.62% of respondents had the experience of returning goods after purchasing from online shopping malls. The reason why the respondents returned goods after purchasing from online shopping malls was mainly 'because of size(52.17%)', the response with the highest ratio. 42.24% responded that they experienced damage by washing the goods purchased from online shopping malls. It was found that the respondents didn't think about the country of manufacturing when purchasing goods from online shopping malls.

  • On-line shopping mall has become a powerful marketing tool recently. On-line shopping malls provide information for consumers about goods and influence the decision-making process of purchasers. Therefore many local government made on-line shopping malls for advertising agricultural production in the region. However, in the face of problems related with effectiveness on shopping mall management, most of on-line shopping malls has been managing by private sector actually. This study aims to propose the plans for development of the on-line shopping malls. For this purpose, this study investigated current management status of the shopping malls and conducted case study on-line shopping malls.

The Effect of Involvement in Smartphones on Purchase Intention in Fashion Shopping Malls based on Mobile Web Apps and PC Web Apps (스마트폰몰입이 모바일웹과 PC웹기반의 의류쇼핑몰에서의 구매의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study considers the effect of smartphone involvement for purchase intentions in fashion shopping malls based on mobile web apps and on PC web apps; in addition, it investigates the correlation between purchase intention in fashion shopping malls (based on activated PC web apps) and those of fashion shopping malls (based on newly created mobile web apps). The results of this study are: First, the analysis of smartphones factors showed that smartphones consist of 6 kinds of dimensions of 'appearance involvement', 'time and information search involvement', 'application involvement', 'entertainment involvement', 'communication involvement', and 'transaction involvement'. Second, the higher the entertainment and transaction involvement among descriptive variables for smartphone involvement were due to the positive responses displayed towards fashion shopping mall purchases based on mobile web apps. Third, a higher application and entertainment involvement in the descriptive variables for smartphones resulted in a positive response displayed for purchases in fashion shopping malls based on PC web apps shown in a regression analysis that verified the smartphone and purchase intention relationship in fashion shopping malls based on PC web apps. Fourth, consumers with high purchase intention in the existing PC web app based fashion shopping malls were shown to have a high purchase intention in mobile web app based fashion shopping malls due to the results of a correlation analysis that analyzed the relationship between purchase intention in PC web app based fashion shopping malls and mobile web app based fashion shopping malls.

  • Recently, the growth of the Internet shopping malls around the world has been increasingly accelerated based on the great advances of IT. Nevertheless, in China the Internet shopping malls have not rewed up relatively. Therefore, this paper has a purpose to discover the factors influencing the vigor of the shopping malls in China and mechanisms on interrelationships among the factors, focusing on customers' trust. To analyze the Chinese Internet shopping mall market from a wider perspective, our research model includes the antecedents from the aspects of shopping mall quality, customer characteristics, environmental features through reorganizing comprehensively various factors considered in the previous studies, and uses customer trust as an intermediate factor and purchasing intention as a dependent factor. It is expected that the implications of this study can help Chinese government agencies related to Internet shopping malls and managers for them make decisions on their policies and strategies effectively.

  • Thanks to the growth of information technology (IT), e-commerce transactions are rapidly developing. Consumers searched and purchased for products and services through e-commerce transactions and felt excitement and satisfaction through shopping behaviors in online shopping malls. The enlargement of company's marketing efforts and consumer tastes of the uncontrolled consumption for goods and services increased the impulsive purchase in online shopping malls. In diffusing consumers' e-impulse buying, consumers increased in expenditures according to unnecessary purchasing behavior in online shopping malls. However, enterprises increased sales and benefits due to consumers' impulse buying in online shopping malls. Accordingly, in research areas of enterprises and consumers levels, the studies of e-impulse buying will provide significant values for marketers of companies. In this study, we analyzed the relationships among intention to use, trust, and value in online shopping malls. And we also analyzed the moderating effect of e-impulse buying with utilitarian and hedonic value to establish trust in online shopping malls. The result of this study showed that hedonic and utilitarian value should have a positive impact trust and trust should have a positive impact intention to use in the online shopping malls. The e-impulsive buying showed a moderating effect on the relationship between hedonic value and trust in online shopping malls. The e-impulsive buying didn't show, however, a moderating effect on the between utilitarian value and trust in online shopping malls. The results of this study will provide valuable implications for implementing e-commerce strategies.
