선체 횡동요 방지 장치 개발을 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Development of the Anti-Rolling Control System for a Ship)

  • In this paper, an actively controlled anti-rolling system is considered to reduce the rolling motion of the ship. In this control system, a small auxiliary mass is installed on the upper area of the ship, and actuator us connected between the auxiliary mass and a ship. The actuator reacts against the auxiliary mass, applying inertial control forces to the ship to reduce the rolling motion in the desired manner. In this paper, we apply the PID controller to design the anti-rolling control system for the controlled ship. And the experimental result shows that the desirable control performance is achieved.

In this paper, we introduce LMI based H$_{\infty}$ control approach to design the anti-rolling control system for the controlled ship. And the experimental results show that the desirable control performance can be achieved.

  • In this paper, an actively controlled anti-rolling system is considered to reduced the rolling motion of the ship. A Study on an Anti-Rolling System Design of a Ship with the Flaps

  • Roll stabilization systems for ships are employed to increase comfort for passengers, maintain full working capabilities for members of the crew and prevent cargo damage. In this paper, we have investigated the usefulness of active stabilizing system to reduce ship rolling under disturbances, using varied reaction of the flaps. In the proposed anti-rolling system for a ship, the flaps as the actuator are installed on the stern to reject rolling motion induced by disturbances such as wave. The action induced by flaps depends on power of disturbances and can take the ship balance. Especially, in this study we define the system parameters under the given system structure and design the controller to evaluate the usefulness of the proposed system.

  • We have investigated the usefulness of an active stabilizing system to reduce ship rolling under disturbances, using varying reaction of the flaps. In the proposed anti-rolling system for a ship, the flaps, as the actuator, are installed on the stern, in order to reject the rolling motion induced by disturbances, such as waves. The action induced by the flaps, which is dependent upon the power of the disturbances, can keep the ship in balance. In this study, we define the system parameters under the given system structure, using spectral analysis and experimental studies. Based on this information, we design the controller to evaluate the usefulness of the proposed system.

  • Reduction of a ship's rolling is the most important performance requirement for improving the safety of the crew on board and preventing damage to cargos as well as improving the comfort of the ride. A mass driving anti-rolling system (MD-ARS) might be one candidate of several systems against the ship's rolling. In this paper, a sea-trial test on a pendulum-type MD-ARS passively operated is carried out in Suyoung, Busan. After the system is installed on the cabin of the small leisure boat, a series of test is conducted before and after operating the system. Through the test, it is confirmed that the roll rate of the ship is pretty well reduced by the system.

A mass driving anti-.oiling system (MD-ARS) might be one candidate of several systems against the ship's rolling. As the movable range of the mass on the ship is finite, the control system must include restriction on the mass position to protect the device and the ship. This restriction usually causes windup phenomenon and control performance is deteriorated seriously. We adopt anti-windup technique to improve the control performance and demonstrate its efficiency by simulation.

As the movable range of the mass on the ship is finite, the control system must include restriction on the mass position to protect the device and the ship. This restriction usually causes windup phenomenon and control performance is deteriorated seriously. Two control algorithms, anti-windup control and saturated sliding mode control, are studied in this paper. Control performance and robustness problem are checked out by numerical simulations.

In this paper, three types of MD-ARS, two passive and one active devices, are developed for small ships. After they are installed on the cabin of the small leisure boat, respectively, a series of test is conducted before and after operating them. Through the test, it is confirmed that the roll responses of the ship are pretty well reduced by the system.

안티롤링 진자를 장치한 선박의 점성감쇠계 해석에 대한 연구 (A Study on Viscous Damping System of a Ship with Anti-Rolling Pendulum)

  • 부유체의 횡동요는 승조원의 피로를 누적시키고, 심지어 구조물 전체를 전복시키기까지 하고, 또 선체에 반복적인 외력을 가하는 등 부유체의 안정성과 구조물의 안전에 심대한 영향을 끼친다. 그래서 거의 모든 선박의 경우에는 빌지킬을 설치하여 횡동요를 감소시키고 있고, 특수한 경우에는 안티롤링 탱크나 핀 스태빌라이저나 자이로스코프 등을 설치하여 횡동요를 줄이고 있다. 그러나 안티롤링 탱크는 설치하는데 용적을 많이 차지하고, 핀 스태빌라이저나 자이로스코프는 설치비와 유지 관리비가 많이 든다. 저자들은 안티롤링진자를 이용한 부유체의 롤링저감에 대한 연구를 하여 실험과 Runge-Kutta 해석에 의하여 그 유효성을 보인 바 있다. 여기에서는 선박에 안티 롤링 진자를 설치한 모델을 2자유도 점성감쇠계로 선형화하여 시스템을 해석하고 실험과 비교하여 수학 모델의 정당성을 보이고, 수학 모델의 정당성을 바탕으로 최적의 안티 롤링 진자를 제안한다. 7.7kg의 모형선의 경우 모형선 질량의 0.26%인 20g의 안티롤링 진자가 가장 효율이 좋음을 보였다. 또 안티 롤링 진자의 질량이 다른 몇 가지 경우에 대하여서 자유 롤링 실험을 하여 안티 롤링 진자의 유효성을 보인다.
