this paper describes the electric field distribution interpretation along a shield form inner vacuum interrupter(VI). The equipotential line and electric field in a VI are analysed by a finite element method at various shield form. in result, The electric potentials of end shield form was increased or decreased because it was various the length of shield and between external insulation and source area or fix._end shield. finally shield is how to electric field affect, and advance, and will achieve the optimum design of VI inside shield.

This paper describes an optimal design method which is applied a weighted least square (WLS) method for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system. An optimal design approach is presented for a homogeneity superconducting magnet with the superconducting active shield especially for a magnetic resonance imaging system. The WLS is used to obtain the optimal configurations using the least amount and minimum volume of conductor, exhibiting the smallest level of field inhomogeneity and resulting in the least level of stray field. The proposed model is used to design a multiple-shield configuration for a 1.5 T MRI magnet. The field homogeneity is required less than 5 gauss stray field contour within 4m axially and 3m radially from origin. The designed magnet with the actively magnetic shielding coil out of main coils is analyzed by FEM and theoretical analysis method, investigated the field homogeneity.

This paper deals with the optimal design of a shield plate in order to minimize Extremely-Low-Frequency(ELF) magnetic fields generated from three-phase bus bars. Combining an evolutionary strategy with a 3D finite element analysis tool, the main dimensions of the shield plate are sought out. The optimization procedure consists of two separated design stages to take into account all foreseen structures of the plate. In the first stage, the basic dimensions of the plate are optimized including the distance between the plate and the bus bars. Then the usefulness of the additional structures such as a slit and fillet is investigated in the second stage. Finally the optimum design of the shield plate is suggested from the viewpoint of the shielding effectiveness and manufacturing cost.

The lining segment which is the main structure of the shield tunnel consists of joints, not continua. Past international and domestic design data have been commonly used for design practices without specific verification about the structural analysis model, design load, and affection of the soil constant of the lining segment. In this study, the propriety is estimated through the comparison between analytical solution and numerical solution for segment analysis and design models of the shield tunnel which is being used internationally and domestically. As a result, the full. circumferential beam jointed spring model (1R-S0) is suggested by considering aspects of convenient use, application to field condition, and accuracy of analysis result. With suggested model, the parameter analysis was conducted for joint stiffness, ground rigidity, joint distribution, and joint number.
The design of thermal radiation shield cooled by a cryocooler is presented. This study is motivated mainly by our recent development of prototype superconducting magnet system for the Cyclotron K120. The superconducting magnet system is composed of the magnet cryostat, transfer line and supply cryostat. In order to minimize thermal radiation load, the superconducting coil form in the magnet cryostat is enclosed by the thermal radiation shield which is thermally connected to the first-stage cold head of a two-stage cryocooler in the supply cryostat. Since the supply cryostat is located far from the magnet cryostat large temperature gradient along the thermal shield is unavoidable. In this paper, the thermal radiation shield is optimized to minimize temperature gradient with taking into account the cryogenic load, system structure and electrical load. The effect of heat source from thermal conduction through mechanical supports on the temperature distribution of thermal radiation shield is also discussed.
Segment lining is a key permanent lining structure to maintain the shield tunnel stability in shield tunnel operation. Moreover, segment lining generally accounts for the largest proportion in the shield tunnel construction costs. As a result, technical improvements to increase its economic feasibility have been actively carried out. This study aims to propose the development directions of high-performance segments from their recent cutting technologies. In addition, based on over 2,100 world-widely collected segment design data, a series of statistical analyses of segment key design parameters such as thickness, width and the number of divisions as well as segment materials were carried out to approximately estimate them in a design stage.
The safety of electronic components used in aerospace systems against cosmic rays is one of the most important requirements in their design and construction (especially satellites). In this work, by calculating the dose caused by proton beams in geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) orbit using the MCNPX Monte Carlo code and the MULLASSIS code, the effect of different structures in the protection of cosmic rays has been evaluated. A multi-layer radiation shield composed of aluminum, water and polyethylene was designed and its performance was compared with shielding made of aluminum alone. The results show that the absorbed dose by the simulated protective layers has increased by 35.3% and 44.1% for two-layer (aluminum, polyethylene) and three-layer (aluminum, water, polyethylene) protection respectively, and it is effective in the protection of electronic components. In addition to that, by replacing the multi-layer shield instead of the conventional aluminum shield, the mass reduction percentage will be 38.88 and 39.69, respectively, for the two-layer and three-layer shield compared to the aluminum shield.
Purpose: The objective of this study was to improve the tunnel maintenance and monitoring technology by establishing the maintenance, management, and monitoring standards for shield and TBM tunnels, which had been applied more in recent years. Method: This study comprehensively analyzed and compared the data and model simulations of Seoul Subway Lines 7 and 9 and Bundang Line, shield and TBM tunnels in South Korea, tunnels in France and Japan, and Channel Tunnel in the UK. Result: This study set maintenance and monitoring standards when there was no design estimate based on numerical analyses such as section design and section analysis regarding the maintenance and monitoring section of shield and TBM tunnels. Conclusion: It is necessary to determine safety by comprehensively considering not only each monitoring item but also the changing trend and correlation of all items and compensation of the tunnel.
This paper describes on the basic study for the insulation design of vacuum interrupter using Finite Element Method. For the basic study of insulation design, first, the maximum electric field was calculated on each curvature radius of arc shield and electrode. Second, the maximum electric field was also calculated on applied voltage and end shield with or not. Thus, the maximum electric field calculated have an effect on curvature radius and voltage polarity.
When high voltage capacitor bank is constructed, Many problems occur because of corona. So, To decrease a effect of electric field is usually installed a shield. This paper shows the results of design of shield for high voltage capacitor bank.
