EGR 쿨러 Type에 따른 열교환성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Heat Exchange Performance at Various EGR Cooler Types)

  • Nitrogen oxide(NOx) emission reductions are required to meet the strict emission regulations for environmental protection. Most of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation(EGR) system applied to a diesel engine can relatively decrease the NOx at a low cost, but it has a disadvantage in that the PM generation is promoted due to the hot intake air temperature. Thus, high heat exchange efficiency of the EGR cooler is required for an effective removal of NOx. In this study, heat exchange efficiency for various types of heat exchangers used in EGR cooler was measured under same conditions, and determined best heat exchange performance shape depending on type of heat exchanger.

태양에너지 해수담수화를 위한 3중 효용 증발식 담수기 개발 (Development of 3th Effects Evaporative desalination system for Solar Desalination System)

  • The evaporative desalination system with solar energy would be the efficient and attractive method to get fresh water. This study was described the development of Multi Effect Distillation(MED) with solar energy desalination system. The system was designed and manufactured Multi effect distillation on the capacity of $3m^3$/day. The experimental apparatus consists mainly of ejector pump, Hot water pump, flow meter, demister, cooler, evaporator and condenser. Evaporator and condenser were made Shell&Tube Heat Exchanger type with corrugated tube. The experimental variables were chosen $75^{\circ}C$ for hot water inlet temperature, 40, 60 and $80{\ell}$/min for hot water inlet volume flow rate, 6.0 and $8.0{\ell}$/min for evaporator feed seawater flow rate, $18^{\circ}C$ for sea water inlet temperature to cover the average sea water temperature and the salinity of sea water is measured about 33,000 PPM (parts per million). for a year in Korea. This study was analyzed the results of thermal performance of Multi Effect Distillation. The results are as follows, The experimental Multi effect distillation is required about 40 kW heat source for production of $3m^3$/day fresh water. Various operating flow rate was confirm in the experiments to get the optimum design data and the results showed that the optimum total flow was $8.0{\ell}$/min. Comparison of Single Effect Distillation with Multi Effect Distillation showed MED is at least more than double of SED.

유동해석에의한 단상용 원통다관형 열교환기 열설계 코드의 개발 (Development of a Single Phase Shell-and-Tube Type Heat Exchanger Thermal Design Code Based on Stream Analysis)

  • 본 원통다관형 열교환기 설계 코드는 기존에 적용된 Bell-Delaware법 보다 한 차원 발전된 유동 해석법을 적용하여 좀더 정확하고 향상된 열교환기를 설계 하고자 한다. 열교환기 설계에 영향을 미치는 주요한 인자들에 대한 특성 및 설계 범위를 나타내었다. 유동 분율을 구하기 위한 유동 해석(Stream analysis)법에 대한 개략적인 소개와 열교환기 설계를 위한 순서도를 나타내었다. 설계 코드의 성능평가를 위하여 Delaware09, Delaware10, DongHwa, ANL에 대한 실험결과와 성능 비교를 수행하였다. 그 결과 열전달 및 압력 손실 예측치의 대부분이 $\pm$30% 이내에 만족함을 보였으나, 압력손실 부분에서는 전체적으로 과예측 결과를 나타내었다.

Numerical Predictions of Heat Transfer in the Fluidized Bed Heat Exchanger

  • The numerical analysis by using CFX 11.0 commercial code was done for proper design of the heat exchanger. The present experimental studies were also conducted to investigate the effects of circulating solid particles on the characteristics of fluid flow, heat transfer and cleaning effect in the fluidized bed vertical shell and tube type heat exchanger with counterflow, at which a variety of solid particles such as glass ($3mm{\Phi}$), aluminum ($2{\sim}3mm{\Phi}$), steel ($2{\sim}2.5mm{\Phi}$), copper ($2.5mm{\Phi}$) and sand ($2{\sim}4mm{\Phi}$) were used in the fluidized bed with a smooth tube. Seven different solid particles have the same volume, and the effects of various parameters such as water flow rates, particle diameter, materials and geometry were investigated. The present experimental and numerical results showed that the flow velocity range for collision of particles to the tube wall was higher with heavier density solid particles, and the increase in heat transfer was in the order of sand, copper, steel, aluminum, and glass. This behavior might be attributed to the parameters such as surface roughness or particle heat capacity.

3중관 튜브형 잠열 축열조에서의 열전달 특성 연구 (Heat transfer characteristics of Triple-Tube Type Latent Heat Storage Tank)

  • The heat transfer experiment in a latent heat storage tank as a solar energy storage system for the hot water supply was carried out. The latent heat storage tank was consisted of triple - tube type ; Outer shell for hot water from solar collector, PCM storage vessel in the middle of the tank and inside tube for hot water recovery. The heat storage tank has the dimension of 60 cm long and 34 cm outside diameter. Paraffin wax(m.p = 55.4C) and sodium acetate trihydrate(m.p = 58 C) were employed as the PCM this study. Experimental variables were inlet temperature and flow rate of the hot water for heat storage stage and cold water for heat recovery stage. Temperature profiles, heat transfer coefficient and the efficiency of heat storage$(Q/Q_{max})$ and heat recovery $(Q/Q_{max})$ were determined for the paraffin wax and inorganic salt respectively.

  • 실험과 수치해석을 이용하여 차량용 PEMFC 시스템의 공기 공급부 운전환경에 따른 막 가습기의 성능 특성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. Nafion 막을 이용한 Shell-and-Tube 형 막가습기의 입구온도변화에 따른 열 및 물 전달 특성에 알아보기 위한 실험을 수행하였으며, 이로부터 가습기 막을 통한 물전달 성능이 입구 온도에 대하여 비선형적으로 변화하는 특성을 확인하였다. Nafion 막의 물전달 계수를 경계면의 온도와 상대습도의 함수로서 모델링하여 단일 튜브형 막에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였으며, 해석 결과를 실험 결과와 비교하였다. 막을 통한 국소물질량유속 분포가 튜브 내에서 급격하고도 비선형적으로 변화하는 해석 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 이로부터 입구 온도가 가습기 성능에 미치는 영향을 논의하였다.

  • 본 연구는 나노필러가 혼합된 열가소성 탄소섬유강화 복합재료(Carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic polymer, CFRTP)의 물성을 비교 평가하였다. Polyamide 6 (PA6) 수지에 Multi-wall carbon nano tube (MWCNT), Silicon oxide, Core shell rubber, Aramid nano fiber 등의 다양한 나노필러를 혼합한 후, 이를 기지재(Matrix)로 탄소섬유강화복합 재료(CFRP)를 제조하여 그 물성을 측정하였다. 나노필러의 종류와 혼합비율에 따라, 인장강도, 층간계면결합력 (Inter-laminar shear strength), Izod 충격 강도 등이 측정되었다. 인장 강도와 충격 강도의 경우 Core shell rubber를 혼합한 경우 가장 높은 물성을 가졌으나, 계면결합력은 silicon oxide를 1 wt.% 이하 혼합하였을 때 최적값을 가졌다.

  • Dimethyl Ether (DME, $CH_3OCH_3$) is the simplest ether and is considered as one of the leading candidates in the quest for a substitute fur petroleum-based fuels. In this work, we analyzed the one-step synthesis of DME in a shell and tube type fixed bed reactor and carried out a simulation with a one-dimensional, steady state model of a heterogeneous catalyst bed, while taking into consideration the heat and mass transfer between the catalyst pellets and reactants gas and the effectiveness factor of the catalysts, together with the reactor cooling through the reactor tube wall. The reactor simulation was carried out under steady state condition and we compared the simulation results with the experimental data obtained from operations of a pilot-scale reactor and found good agreement between them.

쉐도우마스크의 열변형 해석 -온도분포 (Thermal Deformation Analysis of Shadow Mask : Temperature Distribution)

  • A Shadow mask in C. R. T. (Cathod Ray Tube) undergoes a temperature increase due to impinging electron beams emitted from guns, and thermal deformation from such temperature rise may cause the electron beams to island on the panel, and thus give rise to depolarization. Hence the analysis of temperature distribution for a shadow mask is an important procedure for designing the shadow mask. In this paper, we are concerned with nonlinear finite element analysis of the temperature distribution on a shadow mask. First of all, we replace shadow mask, containing numerous apertures of a slit type, by an orthotropic shell without apertures, and calculate the apparent thermal conductivities. Because of thermal radiation, which is one of the major heat transfer mechanism for shadow masks, the resulting finite element equation is nonlinear and solved by the Newton method. Finally numerical examples are illustrated for a 21" FST(Full Square Tube) shadow mask, and followed by discussion.sion.

Shell Eco-marathon을 위한 자작 자동차 경량화 연구 (The Study on Weight Reduction of Vehicle for Shell Eco-marathon)

  • This paper sought to find a way to improve the fuel consumption rate of a vehicle for the Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2014, with a special focus on the correlation between vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics and chassis weight reduction. In 'KUTY-Eco 1' designed for SEM Asia 2014, a chassis made with an aluminum alloy tube, semi-monocoque structure and a pivot steering system were adopted to reduce weight and to secure better performance. The goals were achieved using computer-aided engineering(CAE) and parameter study. Finally, 'KUTY-Eco 1' was created, the lightest car in the competition's prototype petrol(gasoline) type category. 'KUTY-Eco 1' secured the official record of 142.7 km/liter during the competition.
