Structural Design of Interactive Storytelling (인터렉티브 스토리텔링의 구조적 디자인)

  • Interactive storytelling is a scenario created "on the fly" with digital content through user interaction. Every time interaction occurs between the user and content, a brand new story is created. Interaction intrigues people because it provides different story from same content. Through conventional media, people shared same content and experience. However through interactive media, people encounter unique experience, over same content possibly everytime they use it. People we, by their nature, very interactive being. However, interacting with media is not an activity that people are accustomed to. Hence, designing content has been all migrating experience from existing media to an unfamiliar ground. Unique and adoptive ways of designing content for digital interactive media is being sought out from the need as the result of the evolution of integrated society and emerging information technology. People are already used to some of interactive storytelling through hyper text in CD-ROM and web sites. More complicated and different structured models were born through games that offered graphics, virtual spaces and interactivity. When drawn onto a structural graph, few attributes and similarities seem to occur. This paper will try to outline and discuss structural graphs of interactive storytelling methods and suggest some ways for better storytelling design.

  • In this paper, we developed an Android application named VIVID where users can edit the moving captions easily on smartphone videos. This makes it convenient to set the time range, text, location and motion of caption text on the video. The editing result is uploaded to web server in html and can be shared with other users.

  • Recently, the advent of World-Wide-Web(WWW) and the explosive popularity of the Internet gave birth to collaborative applications which were enabled by computers and networks as their primary media. And the progress of 3D computer graphics enabled collaborative application with 3D virtual environments or distributed virtual environments. In this paper, we explain our implementation of Share collaboration engine and Virtual Architectural Engineering 2000 (VAE2000) system which is our pilot application implemented with Share collaboration engine. And we explain problems presented by our experiments with VAE2000 system. For those problems, we design our new middle-ware system, SHINE(SHared INternet Environment). The SHINE proposes new concepts and approaches for collaboration with 3D objects in a virtual world.

  • 최근 리소스의 규모를 자유롭게 변경할 수 있는 클라우드 컴퓨팅이 널리 쓰이고 있다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 컴퓨팅을 이용하여 스마트폰이나 테블릿상에서 그림, 문자입력을 공유 할 수 있는 화이트보드 시스템의 설계 및 구현을 제시한다. 본 시스템의 사용자가 안드로이드 스마트폰 상의 화이트보드에서 사용자가 그림이나 문자를 그리게 되면 그 데이터는 AWS(Amazon Web Service) 클라우드 컴퓨팅서버를 통해 모든 클라이언트에게 브로드캐스트하며 그 후 클라이언트들은 받은 데이터를 자신의 스마트폰 디스플레이에 출력한다. 본 시스템은 웹서비스만으로 서버를 늘릴 수 있기 때문에 손쉽게 서버증축이 가능하다.

  • 이 논문은 OGC에서 제안하는 3계층 구조의 웹 매핑 테스트베드(Web Mapping Testbed) 환경에서 각 계층간의 통신량과 데이터 변화량으로 인한 속도 저하 문제를 해결하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 다수의 클라이언트가 일정 시간 내에 공통으로 접근하는 지도 영역에 대한 미들웨어 컴포넌트들의 중복된 작업 수를 줄이기 위해 맵 서버 컴포넌트들 간에 공유 캐쉬를 사용하는 구조를 설계 및 구현한다. 이 논문에서 제시하는 미들웨어의 캐쉬 구조는 전체 데이터 세트의 영역을 일정 간격의 그리드 셀로 나누어 관리함으로써 캐쉬 단위의 관리 비용을 줄이고 캐쉬를 효율적으로 사용한다. 또한, 기존의 교체 전략 기법을 접목하여, 다수의 클라이언트의 관심 대상인 영역을 중심으로 캐쉬를 유지하기 위해 접근 빈도수와 최근 사용 시간을 고려한 교체 전략을 사용한다.

Automatic Acquisition of Domain Concepts for Ontology Learning using Affinity Propagation (온톨로지 학습을 위한 Affinity Propagation 기반의 도메인 컨셉 자동 획득 기법에 관한 연구)

  • One important issue in semantic web is identification and selection of domain concepts for domain ontology learning when several hundreds or even thousands of terms are extracted and available from relevant text documents shared among the members of a domain. We present a novel domain concept acquisition and selection approach for ontology learning that uses affinity propagation algorithm, which takes as input semantic and structural similarity between pairs of extracted terms called data points. Real-valued messages are passed between data points (terms) until high quality set of exemplars (concepts) and cluster iteratively emerges. All exemplars will be considered as domain concepts for learning domain ontologies. Our empirical results show that our approach achieves high precision and recall in selection of domain concepts using less number of iterations.

Age and Gender in Reddit Commenting and Success

  • Reddit is a large user generated content (USG) website in which users form common interest groups and submit links to external content or text posts of user-created content. The web site operates on a voting system whereby registered users can assign positive or negative ratings to both submitted content and comments made to submitted content. While Reddit is a pseudonymous site, with users creating usernames but providing no biographical data, an informal survey posted to a large shared interest community yielded 734 responses including age and gender of users. This provided a large amount of contextual biographical data with which to analyse user profiles at the first level of Computer Mediated Discourse Analysis (CMDA), articulated by Susan Herring. The results indicate that older Reddit users both formulate more complex writing and enjoy more success when rated by other users. Gender data was incomplete and as such only tentative results could be proposed in that regard.

  • The world wide web (WWW) already accounts f3r more Internee network traffic than any other application, including il and simple file transfer. It is also a collaborative technology in a weak sense of the word - it allows people to share information. Synchronous collaboration is where an interactive activity is simultaneous and in teal-time. Computer based real time collaborative systems like shared whiteboards. collaborative editor etc. are only beginning to emerge recently. These applications invoking more than two users exchanging information, require Multicast communication. Multicast communication is a transmission mode that is now supported by a variety of local and wide area networks. Multicasting enables multiparty communication across a wide area to sparsely distributed groups by minimizing the network load. Multicasting itself is one of the key technologies in the nut generation of the Internet This paper describes the technical issues from the aspect of multicast communication and its reliability in synchronous collaborative application.

  • In recent years, data privacy has become increasingly important. The goal of network cryptography is to protect data while it is being transmitted over the internet or a network. Social media and smartphone apps collect a lot of personal data which if exposed, might be damaging to privacy. As a result, sensitive data is exposed and data is shared without the data owner's consent. Personal Information is one of the concerns in data privacy. Protecting user data and sensitive information is the first step to keeping user data private. Many applications user data can be found on other websites. In this paper, we discuss the issue of privacy and suggest a mechanism for keeping user data hidden in other applications.

  • 공유 전동킥보드의 사용이 증가함에 따라, 불법 주차와 같은 문제점이 발생하고 있다. 시민들의 안전을 위협하는 문제를 해결하기 위해 CNN 모델 기반의 공유 전동킥보드 주차 판단 시스템을 구현하였다. 공유 전동킥보드에 탑재된 카메라, 기울기 센서를 통해 주차 상태를 판단하고, solidity와 python의 web3.py를 이용하여 컨소시엄 블록체인을 설계하였다. 주차 판단 기준이 되는 요소를 추가하고 가중치를 부여함으로써 신뢰 점수 식을 개선하였다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 모델을 통해 이용자의 자발적인 반납과 회사들의 효율적인 관리를 유도할 수 있다.
