  • At the center of the repeating evolution of IT industry, there is mobile computing in the ubiquitous environment, and the increasing usage of smart phones contribute more to its growth. P corporation co-developed with Google and implemented smart work system called SWP for the purpose of 'communication and collaboration with co-workers' beyond the general goal of increasing productivity and comfort of employees. The primary objective of this study is to objectively analyze the influence of the effect factor from end user's perspective and user satisfaction on SWP usage, intention for continuous usage and individual performance. To accomplish this research purpose, this study established research models and hypothesis by collective review about information system success models, and tested the research hypotheses using the structural equation modeling technique by data collected from 320 SWP system users of P corporation. Variations for system satisfaction evaluation standard are 1)SW system usage 2) intention for continuous usage 3) individual performance, effect variations are 1) social factors 2) technical factors 3) combination of social and technical factors. Therefore, this study is about influence factors on success of SWP system and how the factors impact the outcome. The test results of this research model is summarized as follows. Firstly, system user's satisfaction had positive impact on all three; SWP system usage, intention for continuous usage and individual performance. Secondly, social factor 'SWP control system' and technical factor 'information quality' and 'system quality' had positive impact on SWP system user satisfaction, while social factor 'shared value' and technical factor 'service quality' did not have significant effect on user satisfaction. Shared value however, had interactive effect with 'information quality' and 'service quality'. This study is expected to contribute to spread of academic research on smart work system by suggesting a model that can show important factors for corporation while explaining the successful implementation of SWP and its continuous usage.

  • Data mining is an effective method of the discovery of useful information such as rules and previously unknown patterns existing in large databases. The discovery of association rules is an important data mining problem. We have developed a new parallel mining called Distributed Frequent Pattern Tree (abbreviated by DFPT) algorithm on a distributed shared nothing parallel system to detect association rules. DFPT algorithm is devised for parallel execution of the FP-growth algorithm. It needs only two full disk data scanning of the database by eliminating the need for generating the candidate items. We have achieved good workload balancing throughout the mining process by distributing the work equally to all processors. We implemented the algorithm on a PC cluster system, and observed that the algorithm outperformed the Improved Count Distribution scheme.

  • A subset of mammalian genes differ functionally between two alleles due to genomic imprinting, and seven such genes (Peg3, Usp29, APeg3, Zfp264, Zim1, Zim2, Zim3) are localized within the 500-kb genomic interval of the human and mouse genomes, constituting the Peg3 imprinted domain. This Peg3 domain shares several features with the other imprinted domains, including an evolutionarily conserved domain structure, along with transcriptional co-regulation through shared cis regulatory elements, as well as functional roles in controlling fetal growth rates and maternal-caring behaviors. The Peg3 domain also displays some unique features, including YY1-mediated regulation of transcription and imprinting; conversion and adaptation of several protein-coding members as ncRNA genes during evolution; and its close connection to human cancers through the potential tumor suppressor functions of Peg3 and Usp29. In this review, we summarize and discuss these features of the Peg3 domain.

  • Cancer is a disease characterized by uncontrolled growth. Metabolic demands to sustain rapid proliferation must be compelling since aerobic glycolysis is the first as well as the most commonly shared characteristic of cancer. During the last decade, the significance of metabolic reprogramming of cancer has been at the center of attention. Nonetheless, despite all the knowledge gained on cancer biology, the field is not able to reach agreement on the issue of mitochondria: Are damaged mitochondria the cause for aerobic glycolysis in cancer? Warburg proposed the damaged mitochondria theory over 80 years ago; the field has been testing the theory equally long. In this review, we will discuss alterations in metabolic fluxes of cancer cells, and provide an opinion on the damaged mitochondria theory.

  • Demand for new information services is ever increasing as information technology advances in an unprecedented pace. Capabilities of information technology to overcome the time and space limitations enables efficient storage and processing of a large volume of data shared by many users in geographically dispersed areas. As the users ask for more useful information services, it is necessary to develop information services tp meet the needs of users. • Let f be a transcendental meromorphic function of finite order in the plane such that $f^{(m)}$ has finitely many zeros for some positive integer $m{\geq}2$. Suppose that $f^{(k)}$ and f share a CM, where $k{\geq}1$ is a positive integer, $a{\neq}0$ is a finite complex value. Then f is an entire function such that $f^{(k)}-a=c(f-a)$, where $c{\neq}0$ is a nonzero constant. The results in this paper are concerning a conjecture of Bruck [5]. An example is provided to show that the results in this paper, in a sense, are the best possible.

  • Korean Quality Innovation Movement has achieved excellent results for the past 10 years as Hard Single PPM, the next step should be Smart Single PPM. In this new version of PPM, the systematic or structural problems found through thorough examination of past activities should be resolved, and this will yield benefits for both parent companies and subcontractors. And Smart Single PPM should be understood and promoted as the core business strategy today. Therefore, in this study, the possible scheme to strengthen large and small companies together based on Smart Single PPM will be suggested.

  • Drosophila melanogaster is a useful model organism that offers essential insights into developmental and cellular processes shared with humans, which has been adapted for large scale analysis of medically important microbes and to test the toxicity of heavy metals, industrial solvents and other poisonous substances. We here give a brief review of the use of the Drosophila model in medical mycology, discuss the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) produced by the opportunistic human pathogen, Aspergillus fumigatus, and give a brief summary of what is known about the toxicity of some common fungal VOCs. Further, we discuss the use of VOC detection as an indirect indicator of fungal growth, including for early diagnosis of aspergillosis. Finally, we hypothesize that D. melanogaster has promise for investigating the role of VOCs synthesized by A. fumigatus as possible virulence factors.
