The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygiene students on sexual harrassment in an effort to provide some information on the prevention of sexual harrassment. The subjects in this study were 738 dental hygiene students at colleges located in four different large regions. As for the concept of sexual harrassment, the students got 4.33 out of a possible five in that regard, which was a high score. But they got a relatively lower score of 3.42 in awareness of the causes of sexual harrassment. They got the highest score of 4.42 in physical sexual harrassment among different types of sexual harrassment. Regarding the offender of sexual harrassment, they got 2.81 out of a possible five, which was lowest among their scores in the items of sexual harrassment awareness. There were statistically significant differences in sexual harrassment awareness according to gender, age, grade and religion. The above-mentioned findings of the study illustrated that the dental hygiene students were well aware of sexual harrassment in general, but that the way they coped with it was quite passive. The development of educational programs on how to prevent sexual harrassment and cope with it is required to spread better awareness of sexual harrassment among college students and to encourage them to properly cope with it.

The stalking has been focused on famous people and entertainers in the past, whereas more seriously, the range of victims has expanded to the general public in recent. In particular, the stalking is closely connected with sexual harrassment. The most of the stalking have happened between men and women. Therefore, it can be mentioned that shadowing, trespassing, threatening, watching and concealment in the first would move on harrassment and even murder. The stalking has been based on anonymity, following the information- oriented trend. Also, it shows its seriousness that the range of stalking victims has been expanded from limited people to the general public. In 2007, Long-Term Care Insurance Law was enacted to share the family burden of caring for the elderly who are unable to perform every day living activities due to their old age and chronic diseases such as senile dementia, diabetes mellitus, stroke and more. Backed by this law, since 2008, care workers have been sent to the elderly care centers or each elder's home to help them not only with their recovery from illnesses, but also with general activities from dressing, eating, bathing, walking even to toileting. However, according to the recently released survey by National Human Rights Commission, it has been found that the caring workers are in a very poor working condition including low income, abused blanket wage system, shortage of welfare services, extra works and even sexual harrassment. It is becoming an important issue due to fast-ageing population, the fact that the care workers have had experiences of violation in their right of labor while they are at work needs to be carefully treated. In that sense, this article presents some difficulties the caring workers face and proposes effective ways to solve these problems through the perspective of human rights and human labor rights based on the report written by National Human Rights Commission. In short, for this law to function properly and to boost the worker's capability of providing better services to beneficiaries, followings can be good answers - enhanced management and supervision on caring plans and care centers, providing immediate counselling and protection for victimized care givers, training courses offered to promote service receiver's sincere respect and strengthened awareness upon care givers.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore violent experiences of home visiting health care workers in Korea. Methods: This study was a cross-sectional survey. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires from 1,640 health care workers. Data collection was done between September 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010. Results: Of the respondents, 70.6% had experienced work-related violence. Shouting (51.9%) was the most common verbal violence, followed by verbalizing sexual remarks to the health care workers (19.0%) and touching the hands (16.5%), the most common acts relating to sexual harassment. Of the respondents who had experienced violence, 50.9% told their peers about the incidents. However, the major reasons why they did not report these incidents was due to the fact that they felt it was useless to file reports and that they expected such incidents to occur as part of their job. The majority of the respondents (86.4%) wanted education on how to deal with such violence at work. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that efforts should be made to increase awareness and to minimize violence in the workplace. Also, educational programs should be designed to improve knowledge and to prevent workplace violence.
