A Study on satisfaction of year-end-settlement for employee (근로소득자들의 연말정산 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study focuses on how the recognition of year-end-settlement affected on the effectiveness of individual tax return according to the tax law and its influence on the participation of employee. After the careful analysis, the founding of the satisfaction level of workers from the annual tax return can be summarized as follows: When the knowledge of year-end-settlement is high, it influences positively on the effectiveness of tax return for workers. The recognition of tax return system is the main ingredient to increase the participation of the tax return. Although the recognition of year-end-settlement did not affect on the satisfaction of workers directly, effectiveness of tax deduction and the participation in the year-end-settlement are closely linked to the satisfaction level of tax return, It is confirmed that when the recognition of year-end-settlement is high. the more people actively participate in year-end-settlement and it contribute to the positive effect on the satisfaction level of employee, As a result, it is very important to find the ways to promote and educate annual tax return system to workers as well as revise the tax law to maximize the year-end-settlement for employee.

  • This article want to discuss on comparative research between CHIPS and Fedwire as the cross-border payment systems which America have and use at present. CHIPS is a New York-based automated private-sector clearing facility for large-dollar transfers. It is a central switch communication and settlement system whose 53 participating banks exchange same-day payment messages over dedicated communication lines linking each one to the CHIPS central computer. On January 22, 2001, CHIPS introduced immediate finality for payment released from the CHIPS queue. Unlike the Fedwire system, The CHIPS system is not a real-time gross settlement system. Instead, CHIPS is hybrid system that uses a computer program to select payment order in a queue for release to the receiving bank. CHIPS are governed by CHIPS Rules and Administrative Procedures. Fedwire system is a nationwide electronic fund-transfer system facilitating same-day transfers throughout the United States. It is a gross settlement system providing immediate credit to the receiving bank's master account. Communicating between a Federal Reserve Bank and Fedwire users can be either on-line or off-line. Fedwire transfers are governed by Subpart B of Regulation J, issued by the Federal Reserve Board, which incorporates U.C.C. Article 4A but preempts or supersedes any of its inconsistent provisions.

  • Deep excavation,1 in the urban areas may cause terrible damages to the adjacent structures. Most damages are due to the settlement of ground during excavation work. This article introduces two actual examples of structure damage in subway construction projects. A through of attempts to find out the factors that are affecting to the settlement of ground was made through site investigations and analyses of measurement data. Some suggestions are given to prevent the repeat of trial and error in deep excavation projects. This kind of attempts are eccentrical to the development and improvement of information-oriented construction method.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze four models of global e-trade implementation which was suggested at the advance research of implementation global e-Trade with major trading countries. The main outcomes of this empirical study are as follows. For realizing global e-trade of G-Networking model country we have to implement e-trade in the field of "import & logistics". And for realizing global e-trade of P-Networking model country, it need to try in "settlement & clearance". Furthermore, for realizing global e-Trade of G-Penetration model country, we have known that the field of "import & logistics" would be implemented. Finally for realizing global e-Trade of P-Penetration model country, "settlement & clearance" could be implemented. Also, this study suggests that we have to do negotiation with China and Japan at first, and to try the area of settlement & clearance to implement the global e-Trade with Korea's 10 major trading countries.

  • SURF is a compliance engine, checking document content against detail in an established agreement. It provides a single vehicle for handling documentary trade settlement, regardless of the risk profile and financing requirements of the parties involved. That is, SURF, a Value Added Service connected to the Core Messaging Platform, is a documentary trade settlement service. It offers users of the system automated document compliance checking and a tool to manage the workflow in connection with documentary trade settlement. The Service supports varying degrees of risk transfer between buyer, sellers and banks and supports transactions from open account to more complex Letters of Credit.

  • This paper reviews the recent theoretical and empirical studies on the European countries that the bill and keep settlement between mobile operators is superior to the financial settlement like CPNP from the perspectives of social welfare and fare competition in market. Besides these the recent studies, considering the change of mobile wholesale market in Korea, the necessity to introduce the bill and keep settlement as an alternative for the current CPNP as well as policy implication is examined.

  • The advent of the Internet and development of information technologies have changed the environment of doing business. Accordingly, they expect that the relative importance of electronic commerce in the business becomes growing more and more. Among the areas of electronic commerce, B2B marketplaces that play the roles of linking buyers and suppliers take the important place. This study examines requirements for activating domestic B2B marketplaces by analyzing the literature and the status of the marketplaces. For the analysis, evaluation factors that belong to one of the four categories (i.e., Information step, Agreement step, Settlement step, and the rest) are selected. Results of the study suggest the following activation requirements for domestic B2B marketplaces : 1. Enforcement of services for the Agreement and Settlement steps. 2. Supporting multinational languages. 3. Diversification of income sources. 4. Standardization. 5. Integrating main systems. 6. Satisfying the necessities of buyers and suppliers.

  • The purposes for this study was to provide information for developing educational programs for U-turn farmers' based on their needs on rural settlement. Special objectives of the study were; 1) to survey the general characteristics of U-turn farmers including motives. preparation, and education, 2) to investigate problems and difficulties of the U-turn farmers in rural settlement 3) to identify the reasons for success and failure in U-turn filming, and 4) to provide information in developing programs for U-turn farmers. Data for the study were collected from 526 U-turn farmers throughout the country, and after data cleaning, 494 questionnaires were used for data analysis. Based on the results of this study, the following were recommended for further development of U-turn farming programs; 1) to facilitate and expand continuous surveys on the motives. preparation, education and information for U-turn farmers will be neceassary to update the important and current information on U-turn farming. 2) Further examination of the problems and difficulties of U-turn farmers would be necessary to develop appropriate policies and educational programs for U-turn farming. 3) continuous investigations on the reasons for success and failure of U-turn farming would be necessary to develop appropriate apicultural policies. 4) for more effective educational programs for U-turn farmers. selection of educators, institution, curricular and timing etc. Should be carefully designed to meet the practical needs of the U-turn farmers. 5) more research activities should be encouraged to improve program development and implementation of U-turn farming.

A Comparative Study on Dispute Settlement Mechanism between The Korea - US FTA and The WTO (한미 FTA 및 WTO 분쟁해결제도 비교고찰)

  • Currently the nations which join the WTO shall observe understanding on rules and procedures governing the settlement of disputes in WTO agreement. In addition this agreement provides it will be able to apply dispute settlement mechanism of the WTO. Korea and the United States are accomplishing an important role as the core members of the WTO. Regardless of this, The Korea - US FTA is providing a separate dispute settlement system. This paper pursues a comparative analysis concerning rules and procedures of dispute settlement between The Korea - US FTA and the WTO, and furthermore derives problems from the viewpoint of effectiveness, and suggests alternatives and implications in view of trade policy. I hope this study contributes to setting-up and development of national trade policy and is applied to FTA negotiation hereafter.

A Study on Policy Strategies for Settlement of North Korean Defectors in Korean Society

  • This study aims to search for policy strategies for settlement of North Korean defectors in Korean society, develop strategies based on the results and present their implications. For the purposes, this study set up a cause and effect model referring to previous bibliographical and statistical data. The results are presented as follows: First, to overcome anxiety of exposure in the defectors, personal information should be protected. Second, their psychological problems should be solved and they should be emotionally stable for better adaptation to Korean society. Third, keeping in mind that North Korean defectors are Korean people, the issue of nationality should be institutionally managed. Fourth, as one of difficulties they have is economic problems, practical support measures should be developed to solve them. Fifth, the federal government and local governments should be active in changing their recognition on them and provide the Korean community education for citizens to resolve cultural differences.
