IEEE 802.11i standard specifies full authentication and preauthentication for secure handoff in 802.11 wireless LAN (WLAN). However, the full authentication is too slow to provide seamless services for handoff users, and preauthentication may fail in highly populated WLAN where it is highly probable that the cache entry of a preauthenticated user is evicted by other users before handoff. In this paper, we propose a fast and secure handoff scheme by reducing authentication and key management delay in the handoff process. When a user handoffs, security context established between the user and the previous access point (AP) is forwarded from the previous AP to the current AP, and the session key is reused before the handoff session terminates. The freshness of session key is maintained by regenerating session keys after handoff session is terminated. The proposed scheme can achieve considerable reduction in handoff delay with providing the same security level as 802.1X authentication by letting an AP authenticate a handoff user before making an robust security network association (RSNA) with it.

WPA2-PSK uses a 4-way handshake protocol based on a shared secret to establish a secure session between a client and an AP. It has various security problems such as eavesdropping attacks and the secure session establishment process is inefficient because it requires multiple interactions between client and AP. The WPA3 standard has recently been proposed to solve the security problem of WPA2, but it is a small improvement using the same 4-way handshake methodology. OAuth 2.0 token authentication is widely used on the web, which can be used to keep an authenticated state of a client for a long time by using tokens issued to an authenticated client. In this paper, we apply the dual-token based randomized token authentication technology to the Wi-Fi security protocol to achieve an efficient Wi-Fi security protocol by dividing initial authentication and secure session establishment. Once a client is authenticated and equipped with dual tokens issued by AP, it can establish secure session using them quickly with one message exchange over a non-secure channel.

In this paper we propose a one-time password mechanism that solves the problems of the S/KEY: the limitation of a usage and the need of storage for keys. because of using a cryptographic algorithm the proposed mechanism has no the limitation of a usage. Also because of producing the key for an authentication from a user's password it is easy to manage the authentication key and is possible to share the session key between a client and a server after the authentication process. In addition the proposed mechanism is easy to protect and manage the authentication information because of using a smart card and is adopted by the system that needs a noe-way authentication from a client to a server without the challenge of a server.
With the diverse services of the current M2M environment being expanded to the organizations, the corporations, and the daily lives, the possibility of the occurrence of the vulnerabilities of the security of the related technologies have become an issue. In order to solve such a problem of the vulnerability of the security, this thesis proposes the technique for applying the cryptography algorithm for the protection of the device key of the M2M environment. The proposed technique was based on the elliptic curve cryptography Through the key exchange and the signature exchange in the beginning, the security session was created. And the white box cipher was applied to the encryption that creates the white box table using the security session key. Application results cipher algorithm, Elliptic Curve Cryptography provides a lightweight mutual authentication, a session key for protecting the communication session and a conventional white-box cipher algorithm and was guaranteed the session key used to encrypt protected in different ways. The proposed protocol has secure advantages against Data modulation and exposure, MITM(Man-in-the-middle attack), Data forgery and Manipulation attack.

Generally home networks are based on wired network and wireless network. This makes customers be capable of using electric home appliances and full-duplex multimedia services and controlling the machines without any restrictions of place or time. Now that the scope of home security is being extended, the home networks can be formed with not only personal computer but also home automation, electric home appliances, and etc. But this causes many of attacks of invasion and damages. Therefore in this paper we suggest the SSIP(Secure Session Initiate protocol) model for solving those problems. The SSIP model is able to provide an efficient authentication and reduce the time of session re-establishment and set-up by adding ability of SIP authentication to Cluster-to-Cluster environment performed on home gateway.
Password authentication schemes (PAS) are the most common mechanisms used to ensure secure communication in open networks. Mathematical-based cryptographic authentication schemes such as factorization and discrete logarithms have been proposed and provided strong security features, but they have the disadvantage of high computational and message transmission costs required to construct passwords. Fairuz et al. therefore argued for an improved cryptographic authentication scheme based on two difficult fixed issues related to session key consent using the smart card scheme. However, in this paper, we have made clear through security analysis that Fairuz et al.'s protocol has security holes for Privileged Insider Attack, Lack of Perfect Forward Secrecy, Lack of User Anonymity, DoS Attack, Off-line Password Guessing Attack.
The SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) is an application layer call signaling protocol which can create, modify and terminate the session of user, and provides various services in combination with numerous existing protocols. However, most of cryptosystems for SIP cannot prevent quantum computing attack because they have used ECC(Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem). In this paper, we propose a NTRU based authentication and key distribution protocol for SIP in order to protect quantum computing attacks. The proposed protocol can prevent various attacks such as quantum computing attack, server spoofing attack, man-in-the middle attack and impersonation attack anonymity, and our protocol can provide user's anonymity.
In 2004, Ku-Chen proposed an improvement to Chien et al.'s scheme to prevent from some weaknesses. Lee et al. also proposed an improvement to Chien et al.'s scheme to prevent from parallel session attack. This paper, however, will demonstrate that Ku-Chen's scheme is still vulnerable to the parallel session attack and Lee et al.'s scheme is also vulnerable to masquerading server attack.

IoT, which can be regarded as an enhanced version of M2M communication technology, was proposed to realize intelligent thing to thing communications by utilizing Internet connectivity. Things in IoT are generally heterogeneous and resource constrained. Also such things are connected with each other over LLN(low power and lossy Network). Confidentiality, mutual authentication and message origin authentication are required to make a secure service in IoT. Security protocols used in traditional IP Networks cannot be directly adopted to resource constrained devices in IoT. Under the respect, a IETF standard group proposes to use lightweight version of DTLS protocol for supporting security services in IoT environments. However, the protocol can not cover up all of very constrained devices. To solve the problem, we propose a scheme which tends to support mutual authentication and session key agreement between devices that contain only a single crypto primitive module such as hash function or cipher function because of resource constrained property. The proposed scheme enhances performance by pre-computing a session key and is able to defend various attacks.

Recently, many biometrics-based user authentication schemes for telecare medicine information systems (TMIS) have been proposed to improve the security problems in user authentication system. In 2014, Mishra et al. proposed an improvement of Awasthi-Srivastava's biometric based authentication for TMIS which is secure against the various attacks and provide mutual authentication, efficient password change. In this paper, we discuss the security of Mishra et al.'s authentication scheme, and we have shown that Mishra et al.'s authentication scheme is still insecure against the various attacks. Also, we proposed the improved scheme to remove these security problems of Mishra et al.'s authentication scheme, even if the secret information stored in the smart card is revealed. As a result, we can see that the improved biometric based authentication scheme is secure against the insider attack, the password guessing attack, the user impersonation attack, the server masquerading attack and provides mutual authentication between the user and the telecare system.
