Position Control of DC Servo Motor Using the EESM Control Method (동등 편차 슬라이딩 모드를 이용한 직류 서보 전동기의 위치 제어)

  • A new control algorithm so called equal excursion sliding mode (EESM) control method is proposed to control the position of DC servo motor. This method introduces the concept of phase velocity vector that Filippov presented, and simplifies the problem of control gain selection in a conventional VSC strategy. And, by making state trajectories have equal excursions on both sides of switching hyperplane we minimized the probability of sliding mode's being collapsed, and approximated to the ideal sliding moed. Also, we proved the validity of this method by comparing the application results of this method to DC servo motor with those of conventional VSC strategy.

  • A use of micro processor having H-com functions is gradually increased, and this paper describes the digital servo controller applied to linear pulse motor The TMS320LF2407, made by TI(Texas Instruments Co.), is used as a arithmetic unit in control circuit, designed f3r motor drive and available for the implement of high performance and miniaturization. Also, it can allow the sufficient debugging and downloading into control board for independent operation. A current control in order to carry out a position control is of a digital current control mode, and its implement confirmed the servo control performance of position control.

  • A flexible die, which is composed of a number of punches with adjusted heights to form a three-dimensional curved surface, is a crucial part of a flexible forming technology. In this study, the punch and control system of the flexible die were designed. The flexible die is divided into three modules, namely, punch, control and joint, and the corresponding modules were developed. The punch module materializes a three-dimensional forming surface by the control module, which is composed of an AC servo motor set and a linear guide. The joint module is necessary for the sequential motion between the servo motor set and the punch module. A sequential motion algorithm for the AC servo motor set, that uses the data of the punch relative heights, was also proposed. Finally, a flexible stretch forming test was carried out using the presently designed flexible die.

  • In this paper a servo-system is developed to improve straightness of linear motor stages. When a linear motor stage is used for high-precision linear motion systems, high precision straightness accuracy is necessary to meet the required position accuracy. In such cases, machining and assembling cost increases to improve the straightness accuracy. An electro-magnetic actuator which is relatively cost effective than any other conventional servo-systems is suggested to compensate the fixed straightness error. To overcome the compensation error due to the friction, a sliding mode control is applied. The effectiveness of the suggested mechanism and the control performance are illustrated along with some experimental results.

  • A variable structure controller is developed for an AC servo motor used in CNC milling machines. The designed controller is implemented as an outer loop controller to a factory designed motor-servopack system. The robustness parameter is tuned for a fast response when the speed tracking error is large, while it is tuned for small oscillations when the speed tracking error is small. The designed controller is installed on a CNC machine using a PC. Cutting experiments show improved performance over the factory-designed controller.

  • The elimination of a pole sensor is desirable due to the low-cost requirement, the compactness, and the applied drives. This paper proposes the algorithm for the initial pole-position estimation of a surface permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PM-LSM), which is carried out under the closed loop control without a pole sensor and is insensitive to the motor parameters. This algorithm is based on the principle that the initial pole position (IPP) is estimated by the trigonometric function of the two reference currents. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is confirmed by testing a surface PM-LSM with large disturbance, which result shows that IPP is well estimated within a satisfied moving-distance and a shorter estimation taken-time even if large disturbance such as cogging and friction is existed.

  • A disturbance and parameter variations cause a steady and/or transient error in the conventional de servo motor drive system. In this paper robust control system for dc servo motor drive taking disturbance and parameter variations into account is proposed. The proposed control system compensates rapidly the state error caused by disturbance and parameter variations. Simulation results show that the proposed method is robust for the steady and transient response in the presence of both disturance and parameter variations.

  • This paper deals with speed control of DC-servo motor using a Back-Propagation(BP) Learning Algorism and a PID controller Conventionally in the industrial control, PID controller has been used. But the PID controller produced suitable parameter of each system and also variable of PID controller should be changed enviroment, disturbance, load. So this paper revealed for experimental, a neural network and a PID controller combined system using developed speed characters of a Variable Load DC-servo motor. The parameters of the plant are determined by neural network perform on on-line system after training the neural network on off-line system.
