마이크로 부품의 물성 및 신뢰성 평가를 위한 시험기 개발 (Development of a Micro Tensile Tester for the Material Characterization and the Reliability Estimation of Micro Components)

  • This paper is concerned with development of a micro tensile testing machine for optical functional materials such as single or poly crystal silicon and nickel film. Two micro tensile testers have been developed for various types of materials and dimensions. One of the testers is actuated by a PZT and the other is actuated by a servo motor for a precise displacement control. The specifications of PZT actuated micro tensile tester developed are as follows: the volumetric size of tester is desktop sized of 710$\times$200$\times$270 $mm^3$; the minimum load capacity and the load resolution in the load cell of 1N are 3 mN and 0.1 mN respectively; the full stroke and the stoke resolution of piezoelectric actuator are 1 mm and 10nm respectively. A special automatic specimen installing equipment is applied in order to prevent unexpected deformation and misalignment of specimens during handling of specimen for testing.

  • A Direct Drive Valve(DDV) hydraulic actuation system which is commonly used as an aircraft's control surface driving actuator has multi-loop control structure to ensure its safety operation. However, because of not perfect matching of one self channel characteristics with the others, the servo valve driving current of each channel can be widely different. Therefore, the long-time use of DDV actuator without any correction of these channel current offsets will cause the problem of performance or life expectancy degradation due to unwanted heats in the linear motor. A current equalization loop structure which can minimizes current offsets between channels is introduced and designed. The performance of the current equalization loop is investigated and verified through the analytic and experimental ways.

  • KSLV-I의 킥모터의 추력벡터제어용 구동장치 시스템은 전기-유압식 서보 구동장치 형상으로 설계되었으며 가동노즐을 구동하는 구동장치, 유압동력을 생성하는 유압동력 생성장치, 유압동력을 구동장치에 전달해 주는 유압동력분배장치와 관성항법장치에서 입력되는 제어신호에 따라 구동장치를 제어하는 제어장치 등으로 구성되어있다. 그중에서 유압동력을 생성하는 장치는 전기모터를 이용하여 유압펌프를 구동하는 EMDP(Electric Motor Driven Pump) 방식을 채택하고 있다. 일반적으로 전기모터는 구동이 편리한 브러시 방식의 직류모터(BDC 모터)를 사용하는데 일정 고도이상에서는 사용이 용이하지 않다. 그래서 고고도에서 사용하기 위해 브러시없는 직류모터(BLDC 모터)를 이용하여 유압펌프를 구동하는 시스템을 개발하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 브러시없는 직류모터를 구동하기 위한 제어기 설계에 대하여 자세히 설명하고자 한다.

  • BLDC motor is widely used as a servo motor due to high efficiency, high power density, low inertia, and low maintenance. However, BLDC motor generally needs position and velocity sensors to control actuation system. Usually, analog tachometers and encoders have been used for velocity feedback sensors. However, using these types of sensors have problems such as the cost, space, and malfunction. So, This paper is to propose a new velocity measurement method using linear hall-effect and enhanced differentiator for BLDC motor. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed method, several simulations and experiments are performed. It is shown that the proposed velocity measurement method can satisfy the requirements without using of velocity sensor.

  • Thin film is one of the most general structures used in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). To measure the mechanical properties of SU-8 film, tensile testing was adopted which offers not only elastic modulus but also yield strength and plastic deformation by load-displacement curve. Tensile testing system was constructed with linear guided servo motor for actuation, load cell for force measurement and dual microscope for strain measurement.

  • A dual-stage positioner for fast and fine robotic manipulations is presented. By adopting the merits of both coarse and fine actuator, a desirable system having the capacity of large workspace with high resolution of motion is enabled. We have constructed an ultra precision XY positioner with dual-stage mechanism where the PZT driven fine stage is mounted on the motor driven XY positioner and applied it to fine tracking controls and micro-tele operations as a slave manipulator. We describe essential merits of the compound actuation mechanism and some control strategies to successfully utilize it with proper servo system design. Through experimental results, the effectiveness of the coarse/fine manipulation by the dual-stage positioner will be shown.

  • In this paper, we performed the improvement study for the dynamic characteristics enhancement of the motor stator coil vertical winding machine. The dynamic characteristics improvement was done by means of the optimized design and the weight reduction of the flyer configuration, modified design of the servo control system for the flyer and the former actuation, and the development of jump timing digital circuit for the reduction of former jumping error. As the results, the maximum winding speed pattern of the developed machine was attained up to 3000rpm and also reduced the jumping error. In conclusion, domestic design technology for manufacturing the motor coil vertical winding machine was established through this study.

  • 발사체의 추력벡터제어를 위한 구동장치시스템에서 관성부하를 갖는 전기기계식 위치서보 시스템의 공진 특성과 유연한 기체구조체 지지부의 구조공진이 결합되어 합성공진이 발생한다. 이렇게 발생한 공진은 발사체의 자세제어시스템에 되먹임되어 자세안정성에 영향을 줄 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 발사체의 추력벡터제어를 위한 직구동 방식의 전기기계식 구동장치의 합성공진을 해석하기 위한 모델을 소개하고 합성공진 현상을 저감하여 구동기의 동특성을 개선하는 동적 하중 되먹임 제어기법의 해석 및 시험 결과를 기술하였다.

Ground Experiment of Spacecraft Attitude Control Using Hardware Testbed

  • The primary objective of this study is to demonstrate ground-based experiment for the attitude control of spacecraft. A two-axis rotational simulator with a flexible ann is constructed with on-off air thrusters as actuators. The simulator is also equipped with payload pointing capability by simultaneous thruster and DC servo motor actuation. The azimuth angle is controlled by on-off thruster command while the payload elevation angle is controlled by a servo-motor. A thruster modulation technique PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) employing a time-optimal switching function plus integral error control is proposed. An optical camera is used for the purpose of pointing as well as on-board rate sensor calibration. Attitude control performance based upon the new closed-loop control law is demonstrated by ground experiment. The modified switching function turns out to be effective with improved pointing performance under external disturbance. The rate sensor calibration technique by Kalman Filter algorithm led to reduction of attitude error caused by the bias in the rate sensor output.

  • Accurate positioning of the throttle valve of a gasoline engine is required to implement various systems such as traction control system(TCS), cruise control system and drive-by-wire system. In this research, position control system has been developed for the throttle actuator system that uses one throttle actuation for small volume and DC servo motor for fast response. In order to drive the DC motor, PWM signal generator and PWM amplifier were built and interfaced to the motor and controller. Also, time delay control(TDC) law has been used as a basic control algorithm. A method of varying the reference model of the TDC according to the size of change in target throttle angle is proposed here. The simulation and experimental results show that both overshoot prevention and fast response are achieved by the TDC technique with this variable reference model.
