Service Level Agreement: Conceptual Model and Critical Success Factors (아웃소싱의 서비스 수준협약서에 관한 사례연구: 개념적 모형과 성공요인)

  • Interests on Service Level Agreement(SLA), an immanence operating tool for managing the level of the information system service objectively and qualitatively, were raised among IT outsourcing service providers, outsourcers, and operating departments. Yet, only a few domestic conglomerates adopted the SLA, and exact usage of the SLA is currently unknown. Because of the importance of the SLA between a service recipient and a service provider, the agreement is treated with high confidentiality. This raised the problems to organizations which are considering the SLA but lack in the concrete guide line to internalize SLA management process. This study provides the process model of implementation for SLA by conducting multiple case research. The sampled companies are currently implementing the SLA over 1 year of usage period. Factors were used to provide the managerial contribution for implementing the SLA. To analyse the case samples, in-depth interview method was conducted for each sampled company. As a result, if SLA can be used as an immanence managerial tool and can be actively implemented, it will be an strategic tool for various decision making in IT management practice with long term relationship, better shared partnership, and continuous service improvement.

Comparing U. S. and Taiwanese Pre-service Teachers' Solving Triangular Arithmagons

  • The study investigated pre-service teachers' knowledge and computational skills by using Triangular Arithmagon. Participants included 90 pre-service teachers from two schools in the United States and Taiwan. The Triangular Arithmagons Test (TAT) was used to measure pre-service teachers' performance in whole number, fractions, and decimals operations (i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), each of which included level-1 (basic) and level-2 (advanced) tests. MANOVA analysis was performed to compare the performance between teachers from the United States and Taiwan. Results indicated that overall, pre-service teachers in Taiwan outperformed those in the United States, especially on the advanced-level tests. Pre-service teachers in the United States were found to have poor ability of solving complex operation problems. Different curriculum plans and teaching methods may lead to the performance gap between the two countries.

Service Quality Model for Click and Mortar Internet Shopping Mall (온-오프라인 통합 유통경로를 보유한 인터넷쇼핑몰의 서비스품질에 관한 연구)

  • The literature reveals that service quality is critical determinants affecting customer satisfaction in the retail industry. Recent online B2C studies also show that service quality significantly influences online customer satisfaction. However, research on analyzing antecedents to determine the service quality level of online shopping has not been sufficiently reported. Moreover, the offline synergy effect on the Internet shopping mall has been presented mostly at a conceptual level. The purpose of this study is to investigate key managerial variables exploiting offline synergy, including pure online attributes, that impact on service quality of the click and mortar Internet shopping mall. A survey was conducted for empirical validation of the hypotheses. The results indicate that core offline synergy factors significantly enhance the perceived service quality level of the Internet shopping mall. Implications, limitations, and future research directions are also discussed.

A Study on the leisure activities and the level of stress for pre-service preschool teachers (예비유아교사의 여가활동 실태와 스트레스 수준에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the leisure activities and the level of stress of pre-service preschool teachers. For this study, we conducted a questionnaire survey of 557 pre-service preschool teachers in Pusan, Daegu, Gangwon province. The contents of survey were their demographical characteristics, the leisure activities, the level of stress. Analysis was done with SPSS statistics program. The conclusion of this study are as follows: First, the most of pre-service preschool teachers didn't enjoy leisure activities. Second, they experienced much stress in Academic Achievement. Third, most leisure activities have no relations with the level of stress except pre-service preschool teachers' sleeping pattern and perception about wealth.

Basic Architecture of Navigation Safety Module in S2 Service of Korean e-Navigation System

  • IMO introduced the concept of e-Navigation and proposed MSPs(Maritime Service Portfolios) concept to reduce marine accidents, to improve efficiency of ship operation, port operation, and ship operation technology. Korean e-Navigation defines S1 ~ S5 services, as the service concept focused on domestic e-Navigation service corresponding to IMO MSPs, and is constructing a system as an ongoing project. S2 service (onboard system remote monitoring service) among the concepts of Korean e-Navigation services, is a service concept that judges the emergency level according to risk if an abnormal condition occurs during navigation, and provides corresponding guidance to accident ships based on emergency level. The purpose of this paper is to provide a basic architecture proposal of Korean e-Navigation S2 service navigation safety module, based on the S2 service operation concept. To do this, we conducted a questionnaire survey to ask experts with experience with sailors, to respond to the subjective risk experienced by sailors considering effects of anomalies, including equipment failure relative to sailing and navigational safety. Risk level for each abnormal condition was classified. The basic algorithm design of the navigation safety module is composed of safety index (SI) calculation module based on results of questionnaire and expert opinions, safety level (SL) determination module according to safety index, and corresponding guidance generation module according to safety level. To conduct basic validation of basic architecture of the navigation safety module, simulation of the ship anomaly monitoring was performed, and results have been revealed.

The Improvement of Information Protection Service Cost Model in Public Institution (공공기관 정보보호서비스 대가 모델의 개선 방안)

  • In this paper, related studies were investigated by dividing them into cost-benefit analysis, security continuity services, and SW-centric calculations. The case analysis was conducted on A institutions in the United States, Japan and South Korea. Based on this, an improvement model was prepared through comparison with the current system. The SCS(Security Continuity Service) performance evaluation system-based information protection service cost calculation model is proposed. This method applies a service level agreement(SLA) and NIST Cybersecurity framework that are highly effective through cost-effectiveness analysis and calculates consideration based on characteristics, performance criteria, and weights by information protection service. This model can be used as a tool to objectively calculate the cost of information protection services at public institutions. It is also expected that this system can be established by strengthening the current recommended statutory level to the enforceability level, improving the evaluation system of state agencies and public institutions, introducing a verification system of information protection services by national certification bodies, and expanding its scope to all systems.

  • Six Levels of Service are defined for each type of facility for which analysis procedures as available. They are given letter designations, from A to F with Level of Service A representing the best operating conditions and Level of Service F the worst. Yet the appropriate criteria by vehicle delay model in our situations are not formed. Therefore, The objective of this study is to form the criterion of by average approach delay based on the criterion of V/C ratio. Level-of-Service criterion of this study by TRANSYT-7F Delay Model is as follows. A:${\leq}35.5$ sec, B:${\leq}41$ sec, C:${\leq}48$ sec, D:${\leq}56.5$ sec, E:${\leq}66.5$ sec, F:>66.5 sec.

A Study on the Satisfaction Level of Local Government Public Service

  • Assessing local government performance has become a crucial issue in recent years. This paper addresses the satisfaction level of local government public service, which is defined as a degree of the results or the impacts of the local government public service delivery on the citizen's needs, demands and expectations. The satisfaction level of local government public service can improve decisions made by local government managers, and enhance accountability of local government to the citizens they serve. This study focuses especially on the various aspects of administrative systems in a local government and developed a systematic survey for their performance. Explanations for the evaluation items and the analysis of survey are discussed throughout the paper.

Influence of dental services on satisfaction of old prosthetic patients (노인구강보철환자에게 미치는 치과 의료서비스 요인)

  • The main objective of this study is to investigate the improvement of the quality of dental health based on the dental service satisfaction factors of the old dental prosthesis patients of more than 60 years of age who use the dental institutes including dental hospital, clinic, and public health center and to identify the interest in the dental prosthesis as changing paint. Across the country through a questionnaire survey of a question and answer type conducted by the trained dental hygienists or dentist's. Major results of the empirical analysis are as follows. 1. looking at variation of the variables of socio-demographic features of the respondents, the group of female, age distribution of 60-65, average monthly income of 0.5-1 million Won, and schooling background of college showed significant difference. And the prosthesis treatment in terms of the purpose of isiting a dental institute, and the dental clinic in terms of the type of visiting dental institute showed a remarkably significant difference. 2. looking at variation of variables of the general features of the respondents, a prosthesis satisfaction service in terms of age showed significant difference: a prosthesis satisfaction service, dental staffs' service and dental facilities' service in terms of average monthly income showed significant difference: the entire conditions except for the dental facilities' service in terms of schooling and general features showed significant difference: and in terms of the purpose of visiting dental institute, it showed no significant difference. In terms of a visiting dental institute, the prosthesis satisfaction service, dental facilities, overall level of satisfaction, result of treatment, word of mouth and revisit showed significant difference. 3. looking at variation of the variables of post-installation prosthesis satisfaction of the respondents, the prosthesis satisfaction service, dentist's dental service, staffs' service, dental facilities' service and revisit in terms of the prosthesis type: and the prosthesis satisfaction service, word of mouth, revisit and overall level of satisfaction from the perspective of serious concern showed significant difference. The prosthesis satisfaction service and dentist's service in terms of the solving the economic burden: and the entire variables in terms of dissatisfaction elements showed a similar level of significant difference 4. in regard to the satisfaction of dental service and the change of the recognition of prosthesis patients, it was revealed that the level of dental prosthesis satisfaction of the respondents was closely related to the dentist's service, staffs' service, and dental facilities' service. Finally, looking at the influence of the dental service on the treatment result, satisfaction, word of mouth, revisit and the overall satisfaction level, it was revealed that they had a great impact on the prosthesis satisfaction service.

Development of a New Method for Level of Service Analysis on Two-Lane Rural Highways (2차선도로의 새로운 서비스수준분석방법의 개발)

  • The Purpose of this Paper was to revise the method of USHCM and to establish new method for level of service analysis on two-lane rural highways. For this Purpose, total delay rate was selected as new MOE for level of service, replacing the present Percent time delay. This result showed that total delay rate was more effective for considering the effects of traffic flows, auxiliary lane, and vertical tirade. The application of total delay rate could resolve the Problems in the USHCM method, such as too wide ranges for level of service D and E, and the use of different Procedures for level of service analysis of general terrain segment and specific grade Procedures. The research results are as follows First, a new method for level of service analysis on two-lane rural highways was developed using the total delay rate. Second, a new classification for level of service was developed and a consistent method applicable for general terrain segment and specific tirade Procedures was developed. Third, the desired speed on two-lane rural highways was determined as 85km/h.
