  • Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the correlation of antibiotics administration duration and antimicrobial resistance by reviewing domestic and foreign literatures. Methods We searched literatures dated up to 23 February, 2018 in PubMed and Cochrane Library using terms of "Anti-Bacterial Agents", "Carrier State", "Nasopharynx", "Drug Administration Schedule", and also searched via RISS (Research Information Service System), KISS (Koreanstudies Information Service System), DBpia (DataBase Periodical Information Academic) using terms of antibiotics, resistance, and dose. Results In comparison with shortened and standard antibiotic course, longer treatment duration is associated with greater antimicrobial resistance or non-significant difference, but we cannot find literature that shortened antibiotic course increases antimicrobial resistance on human nasopharyngeal flora. Conclusions Currently, there is no evidence that completing the standard antibiotic course reduces antimicrobial resistance. It can be a strategy for reducing antibiotic use to apply Korean medicine treatment, as well as short-course antibiotic therapy or delayed antibiotic prescription. Additional well-designed trials should be conducted in domestic and foreign settings about the appropriate duration of antibiotic therapy.

  • This paper is concerned with the development of a GIS-based distribution system with service consideration. The proposed model could be used for a wide range of logistics applications in planning, engineering and operational purpose for logistics system. This research addresses the formulation of those complex prob1ems of two-echelon logistics system to plan the incorporating supply center locations and distribution problems based on GIS. We propose an integrated logistics model for determining the optimal patterns of supply centers and inventory allocations (customers) with a three-step sequential approach. 1) First step, Developing GIS-distance model and stochastic set-covering program to determine Optimel pattern of supply center location. 2) Second step, Optimal sector-clustering to support customers. 3) Third step, Optimal vehicle rouse scheduling based on GIS, GIS-VRP In this research we developed GUI-tree program, the GIS-VRP provide the vehicle to users and freight information in real time. We applied a set of sample examples to this model and demonstrated samp1e results. It has been found that the proposed model is potentially efficient and useful in solving multi-depot problem through examples. However the proposed model can provide logistics decision makers to get the best supply schedule.

  • The number of contracts for bundling services in a domestic telecommunication market records 1.3 miilion as of the first half year in 2007, and steadily increased to 8.97 million in 2010, to 12.76 million in 2013. In 2014, 70.4% of telecommunication service consumers are found to subscribe to bundling service. Bundling services provide consumers with benefits such as price discount, convenience, increase ARPU. However, a market dominant player in a specific market may transfer its market power to another market by selling bundling services. SSNIP has been adopted to provide a market definition. However, SSNIP is not suitable to measure the effect of market power transition through bundling services because SSNIP cannot measure the effect of changeover sales of bundling services. Thus, in this study, we have investigated the effect of market power transition through bundling services reflecting market power effect and quality upgrade using Gross Upward Market Power Pressure Index metho and reviewed UPP and derivative UPP models.

  • In recent years, various information technologies including ubiquitous computing technology have been developed and deployed. The more ubiquitous services based on ubiquitous technology have widely been spread, the more evaluation methods of those services are required. In this study, we suggest a framework for evaluating ubiquitous services by identifying evaluation factors and their relative importances. Combining review of related works and experts' opinions on the evaluation, we calculate the factors affecting ubiquitous service evaluation and relative importances among those factors using fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). We conduct a case study to illustrate the applicability and feasibility of the suggested framework.

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate the customer's satisfaction level with the digital relationship model of Banco do Brasil Exclusive Business Offices situated in Rio Grande do Sul. Banco do Brasil is one of the largest Brazilian and global financial institutions and conducted a restructuring customer's relationship model since 2015, creating new specific service structures for certain segments, among them exclusive offices. This research had a qualitative step with an internal documentary analysis about the company and a semi-structured interview with manager's offices, in order to check the strategy and the foundations of business model, as well as identify perceptions and the difficulties in implementing this new structure. The quantitative step held the findings about customer satisfaction level in relation to the quality of services provided by offices, through an electronic survey based on the Servqual Scale developed by Parasuraman et al. (1988), which measures the difference between customer's expectations and perception in five dimensions: tangibility, reliability, understanding, safety and empathy. The results shown that Banco do Brasil customers' are satisfied with services offered through the digital model and the new business structure, in which is offered a humanized service together with the best technology. It was found, also, that digital probably would not replace the physical world, but they complement one another. Digital offices and physical agencies will coexist, improving value proposition delivery and better customers experience, satisfy them and build their loyalty.

  • Objective : To determine demographic, clinical, health care utilization factors predicting unplanned readmission(within 28 days) to the hospital. Methods : A case-control study was conducted from January to December 2009. Multiple logistic regression was used to examine risk factors for readmission. 180 patients who had been readmitted within 28 days and 1,784 controls were recruited from an university hospital in Seoul. Results : Six risk factors associated with readmission risk were identified and include mail sex, medical service rather than surgical service, number of comorbid diseases, type of patient's room, lenth of stay, number of admissions in the prior 12 months. Conclusions : One of the association with readmission risk identified was the number of hospital admissions in the previous year. This factor may be the only risk factor necessary for assessing prior risk and has the additional advantage of being easily accessible from computerized medical records without requiring other medical record review. This risk factor may be useful in identifying a group at high readmission risk, which could be targeted in intervention studies. Multiple risk factors intervention approach should be considered in designing future prevention strategies.

  • This research tries to examine the effect of brand experience in service marketing perspective for generalized application. The analysis was held with customers who recently visited in retail stores by using SPSS18K and Smart PLS 2.0. The study verified the structural equation model hypothesizing the relationship among brand experience, relationship quality, and relationship strength. According to the result of this study, four brand experience factors have positive effect on the relationship quality. In detail, the effect of sensory experience was strongest. Furthermore, the effect of relationship quality on relationship strength also significant as prior researches addressed. The research has several marketing implication on brand experience management and customer relationship management. For service firms, customers' perception of positive brand experience can generate the tangible and intangible performance in the relationship marketing perspectives.

  • The use of antimicrobials will be soon removed due to an increase of occurrence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria or ionophore-resistant Eimeria species in poultry farms and consumers' preference on drug-free chicken meats or eggs. Although dietary antimicrobials contributed to the growth and health of the chickens, we do not fully understand their interrelationship among antimicrobials, gut microbiota, and host immunity in poultry. In this review, we explored the current understanding on the effects of antimicrobials on gut microbiota and immune systems of chickens. Based on the published literatures, it is clear that antibiotics and antibiotic ionophores, when used singly or in combination could influence gut microbiota. However, antimicrobial effect on gut microbiota varied depending on the samples (e.g., gut locations, digesta vs. mucosa) used and among the experiments. It was noted that the digesta vs. the mucosa is the preferred sample with the results of no change, increase, or decrease in gut microbiota community. In future, the mucosa-associated bacteria should be targeted as they are known to closely interact with the host immune system and pathogen control. Although limited, dietary antimicrobials are known to modulate humoral and cell-mediated immunities. Ironically, the evidence is increasing that dietary antimicrobials may play an important role in triggering enteric disease such as gangrenous dermatitis, a devastating disease in poultry industry. Future work should be done to unravel our understanding on the complex interaction of host-pathogen-microbiota-antimicrobials in poultry.
