A Study on Automated Service Level Agreements in Mobile Cloud Service Environment (모바일 클라우드 서비스 환경에서 자동화된 서비스 수준 협약에 관한 연구)

  • 최근 SLA를 자동으로 관리하고자 하는 국내 외에서 연구가 진행되고 있으나, 유지보수 측면과 과금 체계 자동화 측면에서 완성도가 낮은 편이다. 그러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 모바일 클라우드 서비스 환경에서 자동화된 서비스 수준 협약을 제공하기 위한 구조를 제안한다. 본 구조는 클라우드 서비스 브로커를 기반으로 서비스 제공자와 서비스 사용자를 연결하며, 주로 제공자 측면에서 작성되던 SLA를 사용자 측면도 고려할 수 있도록 하여, 균형을 이룰 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • This letter presents a model for a dynamic collaboration (DC) platform among cloud providers (CPs) that prevents adverse business impacts, cloud vendor lock-in and violation of service level agreements with consumers, and also offers collaborative cloud services to consumers. We consider two major challenges. The first challenge is to find an appropriate market model in order to enable the DC platform. The second is to select suitable collaborative partners to provide services. We propose a novel combinatorial auction-based cloud market model that enables a DC platform among CPs. We also propose a new promising multi-objective optimization model to quantitatively evaluate the partners. Simulation experiments were conducted to verify both of the proposed models.

  • To cope with the explosive growth of Internet services, Service Function Chaining (SFC) based on Software-defined Networking (SDN) is an emerging and promising technology that has been suggested to meet this challenge. Determining the placement of Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) and routing paths that optimize the network utilization and resource consumption is a challenging problem, particularly without violating service level agreements (SLAs). This problem is called the optimal SFC placement problem and an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) formulation is provided. A greedy heuristic solution is also provided based on an improved two-step mapping algorithm. The obtained experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can automatically place VNFs at the optimal locations and find the optimal routing paths for each online request. This algorithm can increase the average request acceptance rate by about 17.6% and provide more than 20-fold reduction of the computational complexity compared to the Greedy algorithm. The feasibility of this approach is demonstrated via NetFPGA-10G prototype implementation.

  • Each cloud service has numerous owners and tenants, so it is necessary to construct a privacy preserving identity management and access control mechanism for cloud computing. On one hand, cloud service providers (CSP) depend on tenant's identity information to enforce appropriate access control so that cloud resources are only accessed by the authorized tenants who are willing to pay. On the other hand, tenants wish to protect their personalized service access patterns, identity privacy information and accessing newfangled cloud services by on-demand ways within the scope of their permissions. There are many identity authentication and access control schemes to address these challenges to some degree, however, there are still some limitations. In this paper, we propose a new comprehensive approach, called Privacy pReserving Identity and Access Management scheme, referred to as PRIAM, which is able to satisfy all the desirable security requirements in cloud computing. The main contributions of the proposed PRIAM scheme are threefold. First, it leverages blind signature and hash chain to protect tenant's identity privacy and implement secure mutual authentication. Second, it employs the service-level agreements to provide flexible and on-demand access control for both tenants and cloud services. Third, it makes use of the BAN logic to formally verify the correctness of the proposed protocols. As a result, our proposed PRIAM scheme is suitable to cloud computing thanks to its simplicity, correctness, low overhead, and efficiency.

  • With the rapid development of the Internet, public agencies and private companies introduced 'IT outsourcing in order to maintain and repair the information systems. Also they have utilized the SLA in order to manage it. Although IT outsourcing as a way to promote effective SLA are being introduced, the introduction of service level agreements or those introduced universal effectiveness did not demonstrate in the public agencies. The importance of outsourcing in the information systems is growing, but the increase in size of the business information, IT technology diversification, expansion of information between systems interconnection, information system operating and maintenance costs with the increase of information systems to streamline operations, increase the need for versatility is growing gradually. In this paper we investigates IT outsourcing in public agencies as a way to promote effective service level agreement(SLA) with the introduction and consideration, and through the application of SLA mutual customers and IT service organizations make a clear point of management and IT service levels and IT services for improved mind and strengthen the effectiveness of preventive activities can be seen.

  • The multi-tenancy and high scalability of the cloud have inspired businesses and organizations across various sectors to adopt and deploy cloud computing. Cloud computing provides cost-effective, reliable, and convenient access to pooled resources, including storage, servers, and networking. Cloud service models, SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS, enable organizations, developers, and end users to access resources, develop and deploy applications, and provide access to pooled computing infrastructure. Despite the benefits, cloud service models are vulnerable to multiple security and privacy attacks and threats. The SaaS layer is on top of the PaaS, and the IaaS is the bottom layer of the model. The software is hosted by a platform offered as a service through an infrastructure provided by a cloud computing provider. The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) delivers cloud-based apps through a web browser. The stateless nature of HTTP facilitates session hijacking and related attacks. The Open Web Applications Security Project identifies web apps' most critical security risks as SQL injections, cross-site scripting, sensitive data leakage, lack of functional access control, and broken authentication. The systematic literature review reveals that data security, application-level security, and authentication are the primary security threats in the SaaS model. The recommended solutions to enhance security in SaaS include Elliptic-curve cryptography and Identity-based encryption. Integration and security challenges in PaaS and IaaS can be effectively addressed using well-defined APIs, implementing Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and standard syntax for cloud provisioning.

  • 인터넷에서 단대단 (end-to-end) 가용대역폭 측정은 분산된 응용서비스, 단대단 QoS 보장, 오버레이 네트워크에서의 경로설정, SLA (Service Level Agreements), 분산 네트워크, 지능적인 라우팅 시스템, 비디오/오디오 스트리밍 시스템에서 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 일반적으로 단대단 가용대역폭 측정기법으로 단일-홉-갭 모델에 기반한 패킷 트레인(packet train) 전송을 통하여 가용대역폭을 측정하는 기법과, 각각의 패킷의 전송률을 높여가며 수신측에서의 지연시간(Queueing Delay)를 분석하여 가용대역폭을 측정하는 자가 혼잡 유발(SLoPS : Self-Loading Periodic Stream) 기법이 있다. 본 논문에서는 자가 혼잡 유발 기법을 이용하여 가용대역폭 측정 방안을 제안한다.

  • 최근 인터넷의 급격한 발달과 함께 전자상거래가 활성화됨에 따라 인터넷이 국가 사회 정보화에 새로운 수단으로 부상하고 있다. 이에 따라 고객들의 회선 서비스에 대한 질적인 향상도 더 한층 요구되고 있다. 이에 부응하기 위하여 인터넷 서비스 품질에 대한 서비스 수준 협약 (SLA: Service Level Agreements) 제도가 수립되어 국내외 많은 서비스 제공자들이 이를 적용하고 있으나, 국내에서는 아직 시행 초기임으로 인하여 여러 가지 개선되어야 할 부분이 산재하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 국내외 SLA 적용 사례를 살펴보고 SLA 품질 측정상의 문제점을 분석하여, 이에 대한 개선방안을 제안한다. 제안된 개선방안에 대한 심도 깊은 추가 연구를 통하여 한 차원 더 높은 양질의 서비스가 제공되는 계기가 되길 기대한다.

Intelligent Resource Management Schemes for Systems, Services, and Applications of Cloud Computing Based on Artificial Intelligence

  • Recently, artificial intelligence techniques have been widely used in the computer science field, such as the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, and mobile computing. In particular, resource management is of utmost importance for maintaining the quality of services, service-level agreements, and the availability of the system. In this paper, we review and analyze various ways to meet the requirements of cloud resource management based on artificial intelligence. We divide cloud resource management techniques based on artificial intelligence into three categories: fog computing systems, edge-cloud systems, and intelligent cloud computing systems. The aim of the paper is to propose an intelligent resource management scheme that manages mobile resources by monitoring devices' statuses and predicting their future stability based on one of the artificial intelligence techniques. We explore how our proposed resource management scheme can be extended to various cloud-based systems.

  • 최근 클라우드 서비스 공급자들은 세계적으로 증가하는 고객의 수요에 대응하기 위하여, 다양한 지역에 데이터센터들을 구축하고 시스템의 규모를 확장시키고 있다. 클라우드는 통합된 자원을 이용하기 때문에 부하 분산(load balancing)을 통해서 시스템의 성능 및 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 하지만 지역적으로 분산된 데이터센터들을 운영하는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에서는 자원 부하의 분산과 서비스 응답 속도(service response time) 사이의 상관 관계를 고려할 필요가 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 대부분의 클라우드 서비스 공급자들은 고정된 최소 서비스 응답 속도를 서비스 수준 협약(SLA: Service-Level Agreements)을 제시하고 있는 현실이다. 이와 같이 SLA에 최소 서비스 응답 속도를 임의로 고정할 경우, 거리차이가 있는 데이터센터(SLA에 명시된 응답 속도 보다 느린 데이터센터)에는 부하가 분산되기 어렵다. 따라서 지역적으로 분산된 데이터센터 환경에서는 응답 속도에 대한 가변 SLA를 적용할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 지역적으로 분산된 데이터센터를 운영하는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에서 가변 응답 속도를 적용하기 위한 방법으로써 서비스 응답 속도와 가격을 고려한 자동화된 SLA 협상 메커니즘을 적용하고 그 유효성을 평가하였다. 시뮬레이션을 이용한 실험 결과를 통해서 SLA 협상을 통한 가변 SLA를 이용하는 방법이 고정된 SLA를 이용하는 방법에 비해서 더 높은 SLA 보장률을 지원하고 클라우드 공급자에게 더 높은 수익을 제공함을 확인하였다.
