  • Tangjin Power Plant is modern Korean standard plant which is made up Once Through Super Critical Boiler, Turbin, Generator and Flue Gas Desulfarization System. INFI-90 system fur control of the 500 MW Korean standard super critical once through boiler Mark-V for Turbine, EX-2000 fer Generator, WDPF for FGD were installed in Tangiin thermal power plant. There were two BFPTs, BFPM, 25% control valve, 35% control valve to control boiler feed water flow. It is very difficult to tune the Separator Tank level control system and change the mode from Wet to Dry. This paper focuses on test results and modification control logic for feed water control system in Tangjin power plant.

Excess Vibration Phenomena and Soundness of Drain Piping in Moisture Separator Reheat Exchanger (습분 분리 재열기 배수배관의 과도진동과 배관 건전성)

  • Pulsations, vibration and stress are the basic dynamic phenomena in power plant piping systems which directly affect system reliability. These phenomena are both acoustical and mechanical in nature and are closely interrelated. It was noticed that thermodynamic parameters were changed after replacing with new type tube bundles of reheat exchanger. It was reported later that the drain piping connecting the new bundle header with the associated drain tank is regularly pulsating at about every 3 second with 13.4㎐ and 7.5mm, p-p in amplitude. This amplitude is about 6 times higher than reference level of sound piping. The results of finite element analysis of the pipeline showed that its dominant natural frequency is 13.4㎐. The soundness is predicted whether the bending dynamic stress evaluated excesses the maximum allowable high cycle fatigue stress or not by the measured amplitude of vibration.

Full-scale Soil Washing and Non-discharged Washing Water Treatment Process of Soil Contaminated With Petroleum Hydrocarbon (현장규모의 유류오염 토양세척 및 무방류 세척 유출수 처리 공정)

  • A non-discharged system of sequentially physico-chemical water treatment was used to treat the contaminated water produced from washing system of soils according to full-scale soil washing. After washing the TPH contaminated soils, the remaining concentrations of COD$_{Mn}$, SS, and n-hexane were analyzed for each compartment to estimate the treatment efficiencies of non-discharged system. Three times of sampling events were conducted for 4 different compartments (sediment tank, flocculation tank, oil/water separator, and process-water tank). In addition, soil washing efficiencies and concentrations of each parameter (COD$_{Mn}$, SS, and n-hexane) for process-water tank were analyzed for about 8 months. As results, the average efficiency of soil washing was high to have 95.9%, regardless of the condition of TPH contamination level for soils, as well as the concentrations of COD$_{Mn}$, SS, and n-hexane in the process-water tank were below the regulation limits of the Water Environmental Conserveation Act. Accordingly, the full-scale washing treatment system in this study could make the washing water 100% recycled which lead the system to be environmentally-friendly and economical.

Culture of Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) in Recirculating Aquaculture System (순환여과식 양식 시스템에서 나일 틸라피아(Oreochromis niloticus)의 사육)

  • The performances of fish culture were evaluated in the integrated recirculating aquaculture system consisting of a double drain type rearing tank ($2.5 m^3$), a sedimentation tank, a floating bead filter, a foam separator and a rotating biological contactor. A system was stocked with nile tilapia at an initial rearing densities of $5\%$ (A), $5\%$ (B) and $7\%$ (C) oyer 30 days. Feed coefficient was 1.62, 1,79 and 1.80 and average daily growth rate was $0.452\%$, 0.u5% and $0.423\%$, respectively. The level of TAN was maintained below $1 g/m^3$ for $5\%$ of initial rearing density and $2-4 g/m^3$ for $7\%$. The dissolved oxygen level ($2-4 g/m^3$) was not optimum but should not be inhibitory to fish growth. The total suspended solid was completely removed during overall experimental period.

Start-up Operation of Recirculating Aquaculture System (순환여과식 양식 시스템의 개시 운전)

  • The behavior of the biological water treatment process on start-up operation was evaluated in the integrated recirculating aquaculture system consisting of a double drain type rearing tank ($2.5 m^3$), a sedimentation tank, a floating bead filter, a foam separator and a rotating biological contactor. A system was stocked with nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) at an initial rearing density of $2\%$ for 2 weeks for acclimated rotating biological contactor. The total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) level increased to $13.6 g/m^3$ on day 4 after adding feed and was decreased to $0.3 g/m^3$ on day 7. The total suspended solid was completely removed during overall experimental period.
