Purpose: This study examined the effect of perceived health status, depression and job stress on job satisfaction among child care providers. Methods: Data were from a convenient sample of 154 child care providers with a self-administered questionnaires from July 6th to September 26th, 2013. Collected data were analysed on SPSS WIN 18.0. Results: Child care providers had above medium degree of perceived health status, low degree of depression, low degree of job stress and above medium degree of job satisfaction. Predictive factors of job satisfaction among child care providers included job stress(Adj.$R^2$=.216, ${\beta}$=-.425, p<.001). Conclusion: These results suggest that educational program development needs to increase the job satisfaction among child care providers. Exploration of strategies to reduce the job stress will be necessary in order to increase of the job satisfaction.
Purpose: To provide accurate information on induced labor and find strategies to enhance women's childbirth satisfaction. Methods: Participants were pregnant women expected to have normal vaginal delivery. A total of 113 women with induced labor and 61 women with spontaneous labor were surveyed. Data were collected using a questionnaire and electronic medical records. Results: The following variables related to labor progress showed significant differences between the induced labor group and the spontaneous labor group: length of the first stage of labor in primigravidas, use of analgesic, incidence of uterine hyperstimulation, incidence of fetal distress, and medical treatment for the expectant mother. Delivery type and the incidence of postpartum complications showed significant difference between the two groups. Induced labor women's childbirth satisfaction was mainly affected by the process of labor whereas spontaneous labor women's childbirth satisfaction was affected by the outcome of childbirth. Conclusion: Medical staff should have accurate information on the risk of induced labor and the benefits of a natural delivery. Moreover, medical staff should provide necessary information and environment for women to participate in the decision-making process.
The purpose of this study is to apprehend college women's views on marriage in order to systematize the view theoretically, and to investigate the relationship between the self-actualization and their marriage perspective. Futhermore, it is my hope to provide some basic materials for making an desirable view on marriage. The measuring tools used for preparing this study are self-actualization test, which were designed originally by Shostrom and standardized to be suitable for Korean society by Kim Jae Ean and Lee Kwang Ja and a questionnaire about one's view on marriage. Statistical methods such as frequency, percentile, arithmetic mean, analysis of variances(X2 and F values)were used for data analysis. The results of this study are as follows; 1) It is revealed that more than half(59.7%) of the college women achieve normal or above normal degree of self-actualization. 2)It is revealed that most college women's attitude toward matrimony is positive and they have a large acquaintance with the opposite sex. Especially, they are eager to became employed after entering into matrimony. 3) It is revealed that the more satisfaction a college woman's mother feels about her own matrimony, the more positive attitude her daughter has toward marriage. some college women who do not want to have a child have a positive attitude toward divorce. This means that their matrimony depends upon their view of marriage. 4) It is revealed that the more self-actualization college women feel, the more negative attitude they have toward selecting their husband. 5)It is revealed that the less self-actualization college women feel, the more negative attitude they have toward having a large acquaintance with the opposite sex and they have a dependent attitude toward living with their parents 6) It is revealed that most college women want their husband to have higher academic career than hers regardless of her own self-actualization degree and they want have a job after entering into matrimony. It seems to be dispassionate reflection of contemporary thought.
Total 70 isolates of Escherichia coli obtained from pigs were studied. Forty four isolates had $\textregistered$-hemolytic activity which was heat labile. Minimum inhibitory concentration test indicated that 40 isolates (57.1%), 15 isolates (21.4%), 23 isolates (32.9%), and 5 isolates (7.1%) were resistant to ampicillin, cephalothin, gentamicin, and norfloxacin, respectively. None of them were extended spectrum $\textregistered$-lactamases (ESBLs) producer when the double disk synergy test (DDST) was performed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of the 3+1 curriculum implementation of nursing college in transition from a three-year to a four-year nursing education system. Method: This study employs a triangulation study including a questionnaire survey and a focus group interview. The data collected from 34 nursing colleges were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program and the interview data(9 department chairs of nursing colleges) were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The important results are as follows; Many colleges applied academic performance as student selection standards. Factors in students' satisfaction are acquiring the bachelor's degree and a lot more relaxed college life. Factors in students' dissatisfaction are anxiety about national nursing exam and absence of college's own specialized programs. Main points of 3+1 course policy making are strengthening character education and core-fundamentals education in nursing. After qualitative contents analysis, three management-related subjects and 7 sub-subjects emerged. Three subjects were the effects of the 3+1 course running, the difficulties in management and how to run the 3+1 course effectively. Conclusion: From the results of this study, we concluded with some practical implications for the 3+1 course running for reformed nursing schools.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Probiotics have been suggested as potent modulators of age-related disorders in immunological functions, yet little is known about sex-dependent effects of probiotic supplements. Therefore, we aimed to investigate sex-dependent effects of probiotics on profiles of the gut microbiota and peripheral immune cells in healthy older adults. SUBJECTS/METHODS: In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter trial, healthy elderly individuals ≥ 65 yrs old were administered probiotic capsules (or placebo) for 12 wk. Gut microbiota was analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and bioinformatic analyses. Peripheral immune cells were profiled using flow cytometry for lymphocytes (natural killer, B, CD4+ T, and CD8+ T cells), dendritic cells, monocytes, and their subpopulations. RESULTS: Compared with placebo, phylum Firmicutes was significantly reduced in the probiotic group in women, but not in men. At the genus level, sex-specific responses included reductions in the relative abundances of pro-inflammatory gut microbes, including Catabacter and unclassified_Coriobacteriales, and Burkholderia and unclassified Enterobacteriaceae, in men and women, respectively. Peripheral immune cell profiling analysis revealed that in men, probiotics significantly reduced the proportions of dendritic cells and CD14+ CD16- monocytes; however, these effects were not observed in women. In contrast, the proportion of total CD4+ T cells was significantly reduced in women in the probiotic group. Additionally, serum lipopolysaccharide-binding protein levels showed a decreasing tendency that were positively associated with changes in gut bacteria, including Catabacter (ρ = 0.678, P < 0.05) and Burkholderia (ρ = 0.673, P < 0.05) in men and women, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that probiotic supplementation may reduce the incidence of inflammation-related diseases by regulating the profiles of the gut microbiota and peripheral immune cells in healthy elders in a sex-specific manner.
Calcitonin exerts a positive effects on bone pain. The relief of bone pain has been well known in Paget's disease and malignancy patients with bone metastasis who were treated with salmon calcitonin. We carried out a clinical study evaluating efficacy of salmon calcitonin in reducing bone pain and improving mobility of the postmenopausal osteoporosis women. Fifty women suffering pain from postmenopausal osteoporosis diagnosed by evidence of radiology and/or dual photon absorptiometry were treated with salmon calcitonin 50 MRC three times per week for 4 weeks. The severity of pain estimated by visual analogue scale(VAS) was reduced significantly in treated patients from $8.6{\pm}0.7$ on day 0 to $2.7{\pm}1.7$ on day 28. The mobility of the patients was improved in 2 weeks after salmon calcitonin treatment. Mild adverse effects were seen in 8(16%) patients; headache in 4(8%), sweating and dizziness in 2(4%), pain at the injection site in 1(2%), nausea and vomiting in 1(2%) patient. The treatment was stopped in 3 patients by their request. Salmon calcitonin was effective in 39(83%) of 47 patients above moderate degree. In conclusion, salmon calcitonin is useful in the treatment of patients with pain from postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Neuronal apoptosis may contribute to the pathological neuronal loss in certain disease states such as neurodegenerative diseases. Staurosporine (ST), a nonselective protein kinase inhibitor, has been shown to induce apoptosis in a variety of cells including nerve cell lines. In this study, we investigated the neuroprotective effect of sauchinone, which is a unique lignan from Sauchinone Chinensis, on ST-induced apoptosis in C6 rat glioma cells. (omitted)
