센서 레지스트리 시스템에서 효율적인 센서 필터링을 위한 LSTM 기반 모델 (LSTM-based Model for Effective Sensor Filtering in Sensor Registry System)

  • 센서 레지스트리 시스템은 센서와 디바이스 간 상호운용성 문제를 해결하기 위하여 모바일 디바이스의 위치 정보에 기반하여 센서에 대한 의미적 메타데이터를 제공한다. 하지만 모바일 디바이스의 GPS가 잘못 수신되면 센서 레지스트리 시스템은 잘못된 센서 정보를 받게 되며 센서와 연결할 수 없다는 문제를 지닌다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 모바일 장치와 센서 간의 성공적인 요청확률을 향상시키기 위해 지리적 임베딩 및 LSTM 기반 경로 예측을 기반으로 한 이중 협업 전략을 제안하고 몬테카를로 방법을 이용하여 평가한다. 실험을 통하여, 제안한 방법이 위치 이상 문제를 개선하고 효과적인 멀티캐스팅 메카니즘임을 보였다.

  • This paper presents a study on the Internet of Things based low-power wireless sensor networks for remote monitoring of wildlife ecosystem due to climate change. Especially, it is targeting the wild vegetation communities ecological monitoring. First, we performed a pre-test and analysis for selecting the appropriate frequency for the sensor network to collect and deliver information reliably in harsh propagation environment of the forest area, and selected for sensors for monitoring wild vegetation communities on the basis of considerations for selecting the best sensor. In addition, we have presented the platform concept and hierarchical function structures for effectively monitoring, analyzing and predicting of ecosystem changes, to apply the Internet of Things in the ecological monitoring area. Based on this, this paper presents the system architecture and design of the Internet of Things based low-power wireless sensor networks for monitoring the ecosystem of the wild vegetation communities. Finally, we constructed and operated the test-bed applied to real wild trees, using the developed prototype based on the design.

무선센서네트워크에서 플러딩 기법의 성능평가 (A Performance Comparison of Flooding Schemes in Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 다중홉 무선센서네트워크에서 플러딩(또는 브로드캐스팅) 전송은 경로 탐색, 주소설정, 메시지 전송과 같은 기본 작업이다. 그러나 플러딩 기법은 'Broadcasting Storm' 현상을 발생시키며, 메시지 충돌, 혼잡, 불필요한 네트워크 자원을 소모하게 된다. 따라서 이러한 단순 플러딩 기법의 단점을 보완하기 위한 다양한 Flooding 기법이 제안되었다. 이러한 플러딩 기법은 확률기반, 카운터 기반, 거리기반, 이웃 기반 기법으로 분류할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 대표적인 플러딩 기법의 장단점을 소개하고, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 단순 플러딩 기법을 포함한 각 기법의 성능과 효율성을 비교 분석하였다.

  • 해상용 Multi Sensor Surveillance System은 다양한 기술의 복합체로서 본 과제에서 개발하고자하는 Gyro Sensor based Servo Motion Control 알고리즘은 선박의 6자유도운동을 분석하여 그에 대응할 수 있는 Motion Control 동요안정화제어장치를 개발하는 것이며, Nano Driving Precision Pan-Tilt/Gimbal System은 초정밀 초고속으로 감시용 디바이스를 적시에 정확한 동작을 수행하게 해주는 필수적인 장비이다. 최종적으로 개발하고자 하는 분야는 해상용 Nano Driving Multi Sensor Surveillance System 중 Nano Driving Precision Pan-Tilt/Gimbal의 최적설계 및 제작, 3-axis Gyro Sensor based Servo Motion Control 알고리즘 개발, 영상추적 Video Tracking Software 및 Hardware의 개발 및 각 세부주관에서 개발한 각각의 장비를 하나의 시스템으로 통합하는 시스템 Integration 및 시험인증으로 하나의 시스템을 완성 하였다.

Optimal sensor placement for structural health monitoring based on deep reinforcement learning

  • In structural health monitoring of large-scale structures, optimal sensor placement plays an important role because of the high cost of sensors and their supporting instruments, as well as the burden of data transmission and storage. In this study, a vibration sensor placement algorithm based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is proposed, which can effectively solve non-convex, high-dimensional, and discrete combinatorial sensor placement optimization problems. An objective function is constructed to estimate the quality of a specific vibration sensor placement scheme according to the modal assurance criterion (MAC). Using this objective function, a DRL-based algorithm is presented to determine the optimal vibration sensor placement scheme. Subsequently, we transform the sensor optimal placement process into a Markov decision process and employ a DRL-based optimization algorithm to maximize the objective function for optimal sensor placement. To illustrate the applicability of the proposed method, two examples are presented: a 10-story braced frame and a sea-crossing bridge model. A comparison study is also performed with a genetic algorithm and particle swarm algorithm. The proposed DRL-based algorithm can effectively solve the discrete combinatorial optimization problem for vibration sensor placements and can produce superior performance compared with the other two existing methods.

수직속도 기반 충격전 낙상 감지에 관한 연구 (Study on Vertical Velocity-Based Pre-Impact Fall Detection)

  • While the feasibility of vertical velocity as a threshold parameter for pre-impact fall detection has been verified, effects of sensor attachment locations and methods calculating vertical acceleration and velocity on the detection performance have not been studied yet. Regarding the vertical velocity-based pre-impact fall detection, this paper investigates detection accuracies of eight different cases depending on sensor locations (waist vs. sternum), vertical accelerations (accurate acceleration based on both accelerometer and gyroscope vs. approximated acceleration based on only accelerometer), and vertical velocities (velocity with attenuation vs. velocity difference). Test results show that the selection of waist-attached sensor, accurate acceleration, and velocity with attenuation based on accelerometer and gyroscope signals is the best in overall in terms of sensitivity and specificity of the detection as well as lead time.

Anomaly detection in particulate matter sensor using hypothesis pruning generative adversarial network

  • The World Health Organization provides guidelines for managing the particulate matter (PM) level because a higher PM level represents a threat to human health. To manage the PM level, a procedure for measuring the PM value is first needed. We use a PM sensor that collects the PM level by laser-based light scattering (LLS) method because it is more cost effective than a beta attenuation monitor-based sensor or tapered element oscillating microbalance-based sensor. However, an LLS-based sensor has a higher probability of malfunctioning than the higher cost sensors. In this paper, we regard the overall malfunctioning, including strange value collection or missing collection data as anomalies, and we aim to detect anomalies for the maintenance of PM measuring sensors. We propose a novel architecture for solving the above aim that we call the hypothesis pruning generative adversarial network (HP-GAN). Through comparative experiments, we achieve AUROC and AUPRC values of 0.948 and 0.967, respectively, in the detection of anomalies in LLS-based PM measuring sensors. We conclude that our HP-GAN is a cutting-edge model for anomaly detection.

  • The design of a reliable and failsafe control system requires that sensor failures be detected and identified within acceptable time limit so that system malfunction can be prevented. This paper presents a model-based approach to sensor fault detection with applications to vehicle stability control systems. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated through test data-based evaluation. Vehicle test data-based evaluation results show that the proposed fault management scheme can be used for the design of a failsafe VSCs.

  • A novel Intrusion Detection and Response System (IDRS) for IP based Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (IP-USN) is proposed. According to the best of our knowledge this is the first security framework for any kind of IP based sensor devices. The proposed scheme is fast, lightweight in terms of computation and memory, which make it appropriate for resource constrained sensor devices.
