  • In this paper, an optical sensing system has been developed to detect the dust in vacuum cleaner. The system works well through self-tuning mechanism, even though there are systemic variance and characteristic change which is caused by the pollution on the surface of the optical elements. Using the developed sensing system, a novel suction power control system has been proposed, which is able to be used for a long time.

Robust Optical Detection Method for the Vibrational Mode of a Tuning Fork Crystal Oscillator

  • We present an optical detection method for the fundamental vibrational mode of a tuning fork crystal oscillator in air. A focused He/Ne laser beam is directed onto the edge of one vibrating tine of the tuning fork; its vibrating motion chops the incoming laser beam and modulates the intensity. The beam with modulated intensity is then detected and converted to an electrical signal by a high-speed photo-detector. This electrical signal is a sinusoid at the resonant frequency of the tuning fork vibration, which is 32.76 kHz. Our scheme is robust enough that the sinusoidal signal is detectable at up to $40^{\circ}$ of rotation of the tuning fork.

  • This paper deals with speed-sensorless control of an AC servo motor using Fuzzy-Tuning High Gain Observer(FTHGO). Resolver or encoder can be used to measure a rotor speed, but it has a limit to detect motor speed precisely. To solve this problem, it is studied to measure a speed of an AC servo motor without sensor. In this paper, the gain of an observer to estimate motor speed is properly set up and designed using the fuzzy control theory. It calculates the differentiation of the rotor current of the AC motor and estimates the rotor speed using it. Proposed speed sensorless control is performed using the estimated speed as the control variable. Designed FTHGO is applied to AC servo motor to verify the feasibility of the proposed observer. Feasibility of the FTHGO proposed in this paper is proven comparing the experimental results with/without the speed sensor.

λ/4 전송 선로와 π-네트워크를 이용한 UHF-대역 적응형 임피던스 정합 회로 설계 (A Design of Adaptive Impedance Tuning Circuit for UHF-Band Using λ/4 Transmission Line and π-Network)

  • 본 논문에서는 물리적인 환경 변화에 의해 발생될 수 있는 갑작스런 부하단 임피던스의 변화에 능동적으로 대응할 수 있는 적응형 임피던스 정합 회로를 구성하는 부정합 측정부, 임피던스 정합부, 조정 알고리즘부의 특성과 현재까지 진행된 연구 수준을 확인해 보았고, ${\lambda}/4$ 전송 선로와 ${\pi}$-네트워크를 이용하여 간단히 구성된 적응형 임피던스 정합 회로의 설계 결과를 보였다. 이를 위해 간단한 구성을 가지면서 반복적인 계산없이 임의의 부하단 임피던스를 바로 제어할 수 있는 적응형 임피던스 정합 회로를 제안하였고, 설계를 위한 계산식을 유도하였다. 또한, 유도된 계산식을 통해 최적화된 임피던스를 찾아주어 능동적으로 제어할 수 있는 조정 알고리즘도 제시하였다. 제안한 적응형 임피던스 정합 회로에서 유도된 계산식과 조정 알고리즘을 이용하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였고, 시뮬레이션 결과 임의의 부하단 임피던스가 회로에 최적화된 임피던스로 능동적으로 제어 될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수 영역뿐만 아니라 시간 영역의 설계 사양을 만족할 수 있는 PID-PD 제어기 동조 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 PID-PD 제어기 동조 방법은 PID 제어기와 PI-PD 제어기를 경계로 볼록형 집합을 형성하도록 선정한다. PID-PD 제어기는 PID 제어기와 PI-PD 제어기 각각에 의한 계단 응답과 보드 선도의 이득 사이에 위치하는 응답을 제어한다. 최적 동조 방법에 의해 센서 잡음 저감도 및 안정 강인성을 변수로 하는 가격함수를 최소화하는 제어기를 설계한다. 제안된 제어기의 유용성을 사례 연구와 분석을 통해 검토한다.

  • We have developed a part of hydraulic stroke sensing cylinder using magnetic sensor that can detect each position under severe construction fields. In this paper, for evaluating the developed cylinder under various environment condition, thermal control systems and two hydraulic systems to be coupled consist of. The former is composed of an heater case, temperature sensor, and interface circuits which include SCR(silicon controlled rectifier) for the control of the voltage's phase. The latter is composed of an hydraulic cylinder for position control with solenoid valve (ON/OFF motion) and a load cylinder with proportional reducing valve. To obtain the various performance evaluation, it is carried out under high temperature condition in thermal system controlled by using Ziegler-Nichols PID tuning method and artificial disturbances such as impulse or constant force. The results show that the developed cylinder has good performance under the various environment condition.

머시닝센터 회전 결합부의 정강성 Tuning 기법 (Static Stiffness Tuning Method of Rotational Joint of Machining Center)

  • A method has been developed to tune the static stiffness at a rotation joint considering the whole machine tool system by interactive use of finite element method and experiment. This paper describes the procedure of this method and shows the results. The method uses the static experiment on measurement model which is set-up so that the effects of uncertain factors can be excluded. For FEM simulation, the rotation joint model is simplified using only spindle, bearing and spring. At the rotation joint, the damping coefficient is ignored, The spindle and bearing is connected by only spring. By static experiment, 500 N is forced to the front and behind portion of spindle and the deformation is measured by capacitive sensor. The deformation by FEM simulation is extracted with changing the static stiffness from the initial static stiffness considering only rotation joint. The tuning static stiffness is obtained by exploring the static stiffness directly trusting the deformation from the static experiment. Finally, the general tuning method of the static stiffness of machine tool joint is proposed using the force stream and the modal analysis of machine tool.

  • We developed a part of hydraulic stroke sensing cylinder for te purpose of position controlbyusing magnetic sensor and evaluated variously its performance its performance. In this paper, for the evaluation of the developed cylinder under various temperature change, thermal control systems are designed and controlled. It is composed of an heater case, temperature sensor, and interface circuits which included SCR(silicon controlled rectifier) for the control of the voltage's phase. To obtain various temperature conditions, the thermal systems are controlled by using Ziegler-Nichols PED tuning method. The thermalcontrol systems are used to experiment to evaluate whether the developed cylinder can obtain a stable output signal for detecting a stroke of the cylinder under the controlled temperature condition.

모델보정을 위한 구조물 매개변수 규명시 가진점 .측정점의 선정 (Excitation and Measurement Points Selection to Identify Structural Parameters for Model Tuning)

  • A sensor placement technique to identify structural parameter was developed. Experimental results must be acquired to identify unknown dynamic characteristics of a targeting structure for the comparison between analytical model and real structure. If the experimental environment was not equipped itself properly, it can be happened that some valuable information are distorted or ill-condition can be occurred. In this work the index to determine exciting points was derived from the criterion of maximizing parameter sensitivity matrix and that to choose measurement points was from that of preserving the invariant of sensitivity matrix. This idea was applied to a compressor hull structure to verify its performance. The result shows that the selection of measurement and excitation points using suggested criteria improve the ill-conditioning problem of inverse type problems such , as model updating.

  • Requirements of wireless sensor are increasing in machine condition monitoring. But, the limitation of battery power, self-power wireless sensor is necessary for the purpose of stand-alone operation. To overcome this problem, energy harvester is developed by the vibration energy. The purpose of this study is to develop a high efficiency energy harvester with high precision tuning.
