한국 남해 내 대륙붕 후 제4기 층서 및 퇴적역사 (Late Quaternary Stratigraphy and its Depositional History in the Inner Shelf off the Southern Coast, Korea)

  • 한국 남해 내 대륙붕에서 취득된 고해상 탄성파 탐사 자료의 분석에 의하면 연구해역 내 대륙붕 퇴적층은 지난 마지막 빙하기 이후 형성된 3개의 층서단위로 구분된다. 퇴적단위 I은 탄성파 단면상에서 반투명 음향상, 층리 음향상, 허모키 음향상 특징을 가진다. 이러한 퇴적단위 I은 후빙기 해침동안 하구역 환경에서 퇴적된 사질니 혹은 니질사 퇴적물로 구성된다. 퇴적단위 II는 역과 패각을 포함하는 사질퇴적물로 구성되며 후빙기 해침동안 연안침식에 의해 형성되었다. 퇴적단위 III은 투명 혹은 반투명 음향상 특징을 가지며, 현세 고해수면 조건하에서 퇴적된 낙동강 및 섬진강 기원의 니질 퇴적물로 구성된다. 본 퇴적단위는 내대륙붕에 제한적으로 분포하며 외해를 향하면서 층후가 감소하는 쐐기 형태로 발달한다.

  • Building Integrated PV(BIPV) is one of the best fascinating PV application technologies. To apply PV module in building, various factors should be reflected such as installation position, shading, temperature, and so on. Especially a temperature should be considered, for it affects both electrical efficiency of a PV module and heating/cooling load in a building. This study investigates a semitransparent PV module that is designed as finished material for windows. Therefore it needs to considerate about the optical characteristics of the transparent module. It reports the effect of thermal and optical characteristics of the PV module on generation performance. The study was performed by measuring sun spectrum and luminance through the PV modules and by monitoring the temperature and experiment. The results showed that 1 degree temperature rise reduced about 0.48% of output power.

  • 3차원 데이타로부터 물체 표면의 입체 도시를 위한 semi-transparent volume rendering 방법은 다른 입체 도시 방법들보다 화질면에서 뛰어나다고 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 semi-transparent volume rendering 방법의 장점을 가지면서 더욱 성능을 향상시킨 입체 데이타 표면의 3차원 도시를 실현시켜 보았다. Aniosotrophic resolution의 3차원 데이타는 directional interpolation을 사용하여 artifact의 발생을 줄였으며 전처리 과정에서 물체 표면까지의 깊이 정보를 구함으로써 계산시간을 줄일 수 있었고 또한 물체의 불투명도 값에 의해 결정되는 표본 간격을 사용함으로써 quantization error를 줄일 수 있었다.

Mathematical Modeling of the Effect of External Radiative Heating on Heat and Mass Transfer Between A Semi-transparent Diesel Fuel Droplet and Quiescent Air

  • The system considered in this model consists of a single, semi- transparent, diesel fuel droplet, which is immobile in the heating area and surrounded by a quiescent air. A uniform external radiation field surrounds the droplet. Results from mathematical simulation suggest that because of the higher surface temperature, the external radiative heating of the droplet can promote an earlier ignition of the fuel vapour/air mixture. The radiative heating of the droplet increases the mass transfer from the droplet to the surrounding gas-phase, thus, decreasing the heterogeneity of the fuel droplet/air system.

  • In this study, a micro-cavity organic light-emittingdevice (OLED) with semi-transparent-Ag/AgO hole injecting layer (HIL) was fabricated and their performance was investigated. For the fabrication of OLEDs N,N-diphenyl-N,N-(3-methyphenyl)-1,1-biphenyl-4-4-diamine (TPD), known as a hole transporting material and tris (8-hydroxyquinolinato)-aluminum ($Alq_3$) as both electron-transporting layer (ETL) and emission layer (EML) were deposited using thermal evaporation technique. And Al layer as cathode was then deposited using thermal evaporation technique. Effects of the semi-transparent-Ag/AgO layers on the resulting OLED performance were investigated.

The Semi-Transparent Diamond Monochromator at the ESRF Troika Beamlines

  • The above described semi-transparent monochromators have been operational since 1997. Four units are permanently operating at the ESRF beam line ID14. Two units are in continuous operation at ID 10 and one unit is installed at the APS beamline 8-ID in USA. The water cooling of the crystals is currently being revised and above we showed that improvements most likely are possible by using micro fluidics techniques. Further tests will be performed in collaboration with the CEA-France and tested at ESRF. Parallel developments including nanofluids as coolants are under evaluation. Combination of nanofluidics and microfluidics cooling devices are under study. The authors are grateful to C. Gillot and J-A.   • We propose the Poynting vector analysis of the air mode in a top-emitting organic light-emitting diode (OLED) by combining the transfer matrix method and dipole source term. The spatial profiles of the time-averaged optical power flow of the air mode are calculated inside and outside the multilayer structure of the OLED with respect to the thickness of the semi-transparent top cathode and capping layer (CPL). We elucidate how the micro-cavity effect controlled by the thickness variation of the semi-transparent top cathode or CPL affects the internal optical power and absorption loss inside the OLED multilayer and the external optical power coupled into the air. When the calculated absorption loss and external power obtained by the proposed Poynting vector and currently-used point dipole models are compared, two calculation results are identical, which demonstrates the validity of the two models.

  • A new PDP barrier rib formation technique was investigated utilizing transparent soft maid made of silicon resin. Transparent soft mold was fabricated by pouring a silicone resin into the base mold made with photosensitive glass. The photosensitive barrier rib paste was coated on the glass substrate and dried in a 90 $^{\circ}C$ convection oven for 20min. The transparent soft mold was pressed on top of the semi-dry barrier rib layer and then irradiated with a UV lamp to a total dose of $900{\sim}1000mJ/cm^2$ The soft maid was then removed from the pressed barrier rib by winding up and fine pattern of barrier rib was obtained. The photosensitive barrier rib paste makes the demolding easy due to reduced interfacial forces and shrinking of paste materials.

  • 온실 가스 감축과 관련하여 BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics)는 청정 에너지 자원을 바탕으로 도심의 빌딩에서 자체적으로 전력을 생산할 수 있는 중요한 기술이다. 특히, 페로브스카이트 물질은 투명성을 지니고 있으며, 다양한 색상 구현이 가능하여 BIPV용 태양전지로 주목받고 있다. 그러나 태양전지의 투과도와 효율은 서로 반비례 관계에 있어 두 인자를 모두 높이는 것은 쉽지 않은 과제이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 투과도와 효율을 모두 높일 수 있는 반투명 페로브스카이트 태양전지 구조를 제안하고, 이를 평가하였으며, 안정성 평가를 위해 국제표준에 따른 내구성 평가를 수행하였다.

  • To implement the planning of zero-energy buildings, their energy performance must be improved, and renewable energy applications must also be included. To accelerate the use of renewable energies in such buildings, BIPVs should be actively used in windows and on roofs. Window-type BIPVs are being developed in various forms depending on the size, composition, area ratio of the window, specification of glass, and so on. To analyze the applicability of various solar cells as window-type BIPVs, in this study, we evaluated their applicability, at the current development level, by analyzing the indoor illuminance, heat gain and heat loss; the cooling, heating, and lighting energy levels; and the generation performance of the various solar cells. To enhance the future applicability of window type BIPV, we analyze the overall energy performance of the building, according to changes in visible light transmittance and generation efficiency. The main research results are as follows. The area ratios above the standard illuminance, based on the window type and according to the VLT, were in order of low-e glazing, a-Si window, DSSC window, and c-Si window. The heat gain of the semi-transparent solar cell winodw was remarkably low. The energy consumption of buildings was highest in the order of c-Si window, DSSC window, a-Si window, and clear low-e window. However, in the case of including the power generation performance of the solar cell, the energy consumption was found to be high in order of DSSC window, c-Si window, a-Si window, and clear low-e window. In the future, if a window-type BIPV is developed, we believe that improvement in power generation performance and improvement in visible light transmittance will be needed.
