  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the lexical-semantic structure of morphologically derived passive verbs in Korean based on Pustejovsky (1995)'s Generative Lexicon Theory (GL) and to explain the change of the root verb's lexical-semantic structure by means of passivization. Passivization in this paper is defined as the unaccusaztivization. In Argument Structure of derived passive verbs, the agent argument is deleted and the theme argument is realized as a syntactic subject. As for Event Structure, derived passives express left-headed event (achievement), whereas their roots denote right-headed event (accomplishment). In Qualia Structure, passive verbs and root ones have the same Fomal Role, but in Agentive Role of passive verbs, an act weakens to a process. Both Formal and Agentive Roles have the same theme argument.

  • The Semantic Web is leading us to a world of information sharing by enabling distributed knowledge aggregation and creation. RDF is the foundations of the Semantic Web. For secure Semantic web we need to secure RDF as well. Unauthorized access to an RDF document can change or damage its semantics or manipulate the relations between resources. This article includes the study of RDF security issues and analysis of the existing solutions. After finding limitations of existing solution, a hybrid approach has been proposed.

  • As the information of the internet increased, importance of sematic web for collecting and integration of these informations to support decision making of some group or ordinary people are growing as well. Basis structure that composes semantic web is ontology and languages like XML, RDF/RDF schema and OWL are basis means that compose ontology schema. When composes and manages Ontology schema, one of the important consideration point is that schema is changed as times go by. Therefore, change of domain of schema, change of data concept or change of relation between resource etc. are reflected in the ontology system. In this study, we suggest semantic web schema management skill in terms of version management. We categorized version change forms and created version graph for checking of version transition. With created version graph, we define transitivity rule and propose schema tag for detail application which enables extending of applicable version schema.

  • This study investigates public receptivity to celebrity's climate change advocacy on YouTube through a semantic network analysis. The results of this study suggest that the YouTube video generated a number of viewers' responses. Celebrity endorsement not only leaded public voices on climate change issue, but also their opinions on the celebrity endorser. This study found that most of viewers were polarized in their judgment and attitude toward the celebrity advocate either positively or negatively. This study offers an exploratory examination of the perceived star power and the role of celebrities as spokespersons for social causes. This study contributes to the theoretical foundation of the role of celebrity advocacy using social media. In addition, this study offers methodological insights into how to detect public perceptions and attitudes toward celebrity endorsement of social causes by analyzing public comments.

  • This paper addresses the issue of constraints on the conversion of the participle II in German, proposing a constraint-based lexical semantic approach. I argue against the widely accepted syntactic view which is based on the dichotomous distinction of intransitive verbs, which has been advanced by the Unaccusative Hypothesis [Perlmutter (1978)]. Several arguments are also given against the semantic view which is based on some aspectual notions such as 'telicity', 'transformativity' or 'terminativity'. The crucial constraints on the conversion of the participle II in German, it is argued, is instead two lexical semantic entailments, movement with a definite change of location and affectedness. These and other lexical semantic entailments in the sense of Dowty (1991) are encoded into the multiple inheritance type hierarchy of qfpsoa. The proposal made in this paper is based on the multiple inheritance hierarchy which is envisaged in a recent framework of head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar.

  • Due to heterogeneity in Data and Processes, healthcare systems are facing the challenge of interoperability. This heterogeneity results in different healthcare workflows of each individual organization. The compatibility of these heterogeneous workflows is possible when standards are followed. HL7 is one of the standards that is used for communicating medical data between healthcare systems. Its newer version V3 is providing semantic interoperability which is lacking in V2. The interoperability in HL7 V3 is only limited to data level and process level interoperability needs to be catered. The process level interoperability is achieved only when heterogeneous workflows are aligned. These workflows are very complex in nature due to continuous change in medical data resulting in problems related to maintenance and degree of automation. Semantic technologies plays important role in resolving the above mentioned problems. This research work is based on the integration of semantic technology in HL7 V3 standard to achieve semantic process interoperability. Web Service Modeling Framework (WSMF) is used for incorporating semantics in HL7 V3 processes and achieves seamless communication. Interaction Ontology represents the process artifacts of HL7 V3 and helps in achieving automation.

  • Satellite imaging is an effective supplementary data source for detecting and verifying nuclear activity. It is also highly beneficial in regions with limited access and information, such as nuclear installations. Time series analysis, in particular, can identify the process of preparing for the conduction of a nuclear experiment, such as relocating equipment or changing facilities. Differences in the semantic segmentation findings of time series photos were employed in this work to detect changes in meaningful items connected to nuclear activity. Building, road, and small object datasets made of KOMPSAT 3/3A photos given by AIHub were used to train deep learning models such as U-Net, PSPNet, and Attention U-Net. To pick relevant models for targets, many model parameters were adjusted. The final change detection was carried out by including object information into the first change detection, which was obtained as the difference in semantic segmentation findings. The experiment findings demonstrated that the suggested approach could effectively identify altered pixels. Although the suggested approach is dependent on the accuracy of semantic segmentation findings, it is envisaged that as the dataset for the region of interest grows in the future, so will the relevant scope of the proposed method.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the impact of integrated art therapy on the life meaning of new firefighters. The subjects of the study selected 108 newfirefighters to be hired as part of the new training center in South Gyeongsang Province. Out of 108 participants, consisting of 54 volunteers, conducted an integrated art therapy program once a week, 60 minutes each, and eight sessions. Research tools carried out pre - and post-inspection testing using a scale of meaning in life. For data analysis, t-test was conducted using SPSS 22.0 program. The study found that integrated art therapy using semantic therapy had statistically significant differences in meaning in life. The experimental group has made positive changes in its pursuit of meaning, finding meaning, and discovering meaning in life rather than in control groups. In other words, the new fire fighting public officials' ability to positively change in difficult situations, adapt to the environment, and overcome difficulties was improved. In particular, he showed changes such as realizing the importance of people and life, clarity of purpose and efforts to change himself. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully review the fire school program aimed at fostering firefighters with a balanced body.

  • As the technologies advance, mobile peer-to-peer (MP2P) networks or systems become one of the major ways to share resources and information. On such a system, the information retrieval (IR), including the development of scalable infrastructures for indexing, becomes more complicated due to a huge increase on the amount of information and rapid information change. To keep the systems on MP2P networks more reliable and consistent, the index structures need to be updated frequently. For a semantic IR system, the index structure is even more complicated than a classic IR system and generally has higher update cost. The most well-known indexing technique used in semantic IR systems is Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI), of which the index structure is generated by singular value decomposition (SVD). Although LSI performs well, updating the index structure is not easy and time consuming. In an MP2P environment, which is fully distributed and dynamic, the update becomes more challenging. In this work, we consider how to update the sematic index generated by LSI and keep the index consistent in the whole MP2P network. The proposed Concept Space Update (CSU) protocol, based on distributed 2-Phase locking strategy, can effectively achieve the objectives in terms of two measurements: coverage speed and update cost. Using the proposed effective synchronization mechanism with the efficient updates on the SVD, re-computing the whole index on the P2P overlay can be avoided and the consistency can be achieved. Simulated experiments are also performed to validate our analysis on the proposed CSU protocol. The experimental results indicate that CSU is effective on updating the concept space with LSI/SVD index structure in MP2P semantic IR systems.
