A Study on an Automatic Alignment Method of Distributed Ontology by Using Semantic Distance Measure Method (의미거리측정방법을 활용한 분산 온톨로지 간 자동 정렬 방법 연구)

  • Semantic web technology is the evolution of current World Wide Web including a machine-understandable knowledge database, ontology, it may be enable machine and people to work together. However, problems arise when we try to communicate with different data, which are annotated by different ontologies created by different people with different concepts. Thus, to communicate between ontologies, it needs to align between heterogeneous ontologies. When it is aligned between concept nodes of heterogeneous ontologies, one of main problems is a misalignment situation caused by false negative of automatic ontology mapping. So, in this paper, we present a new method to minimize the false negative error in the process of aligning concept nodes of different ontology.

  • Computing has been making a lot of progress in the quantity of data, today. It's going to be more difficult to get appropriate information as the number of data increases dramatically. Therefore it's more important to get meaningful information than to focus on the speed of processing. Semantic web enables an intelligent processing by adding semantic information to data, and it is useful to make ontology system. In this Paper, we implemented ontology Processing system which support function for ontology and efficient processing for practical service. We proposed system design for independent from storage, storing technique for RDB, caching technique by schema information and useful user interface.

  • Information Retrieval System aims towards providing fast and accurate information to users. However, current search systems are based on plain svntactic analysis which makes it difficult for the user to find the exact required information. This paper proposes the SW-IRS (Semantic Web-based Information Retrieval System) using an Ontology Server. The proposed system is purposed to maximize efficiency and accuracy of information retrieval of unstructured and semi-structured documents by using an agent-based automatic classification technology and semantic web based information retrieval methods. For interoperability and easy integration, RDF based repository system is supported, and the newly developed ranking algorithm was applied to rank search results and provide more accurate and reliable information. Finally, a new ranking algorithm is suggested to be used to evaluate performance and verify the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed retrieval system.

  • In this paper, we present WebGIS techniques that can acquire more information from users who offered information and location of region's crops. So that it can be search the information based on Ontology defining Metadata for understand and control more accurately. And this paper shows how to implement about prototype of crops information system for obtaining information of location. Our object is to offer results Service form search, to analyze question of user and to show the exact geographic information about question of user. So this paper can be provide convenience to users that can be show Semantic WebGIS system.

  • Recently, semantic web technology, represented by ontology building, is being combined with web services technology, creating 'Semantic Web Services' as a new promising field in information retrieval research. Accordingly, many brokering and matchmaking agents are being developed and used in the field. However, literature review revealed that most models do not take QoS(Quality of Services) into consideration. In this study, a QoS-augmented matchmaking algorithm is developed based on service availability, response time, maximum transaction amount, reliability, accessibility and price as critical QoS items. A prototype for Intelligent Semantic Web Services System is developed using publicly available data. Performance test was conducted and reported at the end.

  • Researches on enhancing the searching function of the web service using the ontology concept have been studying. One of them suggests a searching method for UDDI using DAML and DAML+OIL. However this approach has inconveniences to use operations proper to the circumstance and to define respective ontologies according to them. To solve these problems, we introduce an effective method of dealing with N-Triple, filtering care Triples, merging Triples, semantic connection between Triples and searching Triples for searching information and recommending the results in semantic web environment. Furthermore, we implement this proposed method in a system to test it. Finally, we test the system in the virtual semantic web environment for out research analysis.

  • This research analyze the current status pertaining to the sport industry's information system and information network in Korea to propose integrated information network of sport industry construction measures with the goal of optimizing vertical and horizontal network formation, and knowledge information sharing and dissemination. To construct integrated information network of sport industry, literature examination and meeting of experts to search for measures are utilized. This paper analyze the realities of the sport industry's information system and information network in Korea to propose the following when it comes to the measures to realize sport industry's information integration. First, DB for sport industry relate information that factored in the Ontology is being developed. In other words, it is necessary to design a DB that factors in the Semantic Web. Second, once the DB relate to the sport industry that factored in the Ontology is developed, it is necessary to build RSS/Atom based active network that enables exchange of organic information among them.

  • While the existing Web focuses on the interface with human users based on HTML, the next generation Web will focus on the interaction among software agents by using XML and XML-based standards and technologies. The inference engine, which will serve as brains of software agents in the next generation Web, should thoroughly understand the Semantic Web, the standard language of the next generation Web. As abasis for the service, the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) has recommended SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language) which had been made by compounding OWL (Web Ontology Language) and RuleML (Rule Markup Language). In this research, we develop a backward chaining inference engine SMART-B (SeMantic web Agent Reasoning Tools -Backward chaining inference engine), which uses SWRL and OWL to represent rules and facts respectively. We analyze the requirements for the SWRL-based backward chaining inference and design analgorithm for the backward chaining inference which reflects the traditional backward chaining inference algorithm and the requirements of the next generation Semantic Web. We also implement the backward chaining inference engine and the administrative tools for fact and rule bases into Java components to insure the independence and portability among different platforms under the environment of Ubiquitous Computing.

  • To improve the diagnosis and prescription for military personnel, it is required to adopt Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) in armed forces hospitals. The objective of this paper is to suggest a CDSS for armed forces hospitals using semantic web technologies. To this end, we designed military medical ontologies and military medical rules which consist of the various concepts and rules for supporting medical activities. We developed a semantic web-based CDSS to demonstrate the use of the ontologies and rules for treating military patients. We also showed the process of semantic search for the medical records which are created from the semantic web-based CDSS.
